Yohan turned the next page. It was a script Cassie had been working on. She had asked him to read and give his opinion, so she knelt beside him, watching eagerly as his eyes scanned the lines.
"It's not so bad," he said after a moment. "Actually, it's pretty well written. There's just one thing I don't understand."
"why are there so many blank spaces in between?"
She leaned back against the bed frame and let out a sigh. "Because I haven't finished it yet."
"Oh, okay," Yohan replied easily. "Then I'll have to read it again once you're done. I'm already enjoying it so far."
He spoke cheerfully as he placed the script back on the table. But when he turned to Cassie, her expression didn't match his enthusiasm.
"That's if I ever get to finish," she said, her voice heavy with despair.
"I'm sure you can. It's already going so well," he encouraged her, giving her shoulder a gentle rub.
