Dante regretted it.
He regretted how he could have forgotten Ada at such a crucial moment.
Otherwise, he would not be so tired.
Dante stepped into the portal when the moon was high in the sky.
And now, the sun was already high.
Not a moment of peace, my family.
Rubbing his waist, he sat up from the headboard and found Ada already sitting in front of the mirror, applying lipstick.
She was positively glowing.
She glared at Dante through the mirror.
"Next time you dare to stand me up, hmph."
"Don't think you can be arrogant just because you are a Metahuman."
Dante swallowed hard.
It was too terrifying.
Especially after being enhanced by the Violet Light of Love.
Even Dante's waist was numb with a slight ache.
"Y-yes, ma'am."
Ada rolled her eyes, her anger from being stood up for a day barely subsiding.
Then she asked curiously,
"So, what exactly happened that made you willing to stand me up to complete it?"
"I already told you, I really forgot about it." Dante wiped away cold sweat, then sat next to Ada.
He briefly summarized the series of events in the most concise language.
Ada frowned more and more as she listened.
"The Family? You ran into those guys?"
"What, you know something about them?"
"Before joining the FBI, I had a period of cooperation with The Family." Ada shrugged. "But the near-nuclear destruction of Raccoon City was actually orchestrated by The Family behind the scenes."
"Then are you familiar with the name Derek C. Simmons?"
"Of course." Ada said, leaning against Dante's shoulder and stroking his cheek. "He is the worst, most tasteless, but most powerful illegitimate fan."
"If nothing goes wrong, this so-called Family already wants to extend its reach to the FBI and… Superman."
Even Ada showed a hint of shock when the word "Superman" was spoken.
"Are these guys tired of living? They are actually targeting Superman?"
"Let's not talk about whether they want to continue living. I certainly would not dare let them live." Dante shivered all over.
If they dared to target Superman today, they would dare to target Dante tomorrow.
These scumbags, who even abuse bioweapons and manipulate supervillains to achieve their goals, are nothing but harmful to the entire world and even the entire universe.
As Dante spoke, he opened his personal terminal.
After entering the code key, he entered the confidential frequency with Fury.
Then he sent Fury a video call.
A few seconds later, Fury's face appeared on the screen.
He was currently scribbling furiously on a stack of documents, and he looked up at Dante and Ada on the screen.
"Aren't you two on vacation recently?"
"Why do you have time to contact me?"
Dante picked up the bottled water on the table, took a few gulps, and then said,
"Fury, I want to wipe out The Family."
"Cough, cough, cough." Dante's first sentence startled Fury into a fit of coughs. "Why are you bothering with those guys when you have nothing to do?"
Fury stopped signing and looked up at Dante seriously.
"They are just a bunch of capitalists with power, who think they can control the national trend, but they are nothing more than that."
Dante pouted and dropped a bombshell.
"But they already want to make a move on Superman and his family."
"Who. On whom. Have they eaten the guts of a bear and a leopard?" Fury's single eye widened in shock. "Are you sure about this?"
"Last night, I just dealt with Lex Luthor, who was injected with the C-Virus, at Superman's hometown with Superman."
After Dante finished speaking, Fury fell silent.
But in that single eye, a hint of killing intent was revealed.
He did not really care about what these rich politicians were doing in the U.S. Government.
But now, they actually want to shake the strong power structure that Fury and Dante had painstakingly built.
If he did not even dig up their ancestral graves, he would not deserve to be called the King of Agents.
Before Fury could say another word, another video request appeared on his personal terminal.
It was from Harley.
"Dante, Harley is video calling, I will set up a multi-person conference."
After he finished speaking, the screen flickered, and then Harley's face appeared on the other half of the screen.
"Fury, let me tell you… Oh, Pudding, you are here too."
"Perfect, I was going to ask about this before telling you."
"What is it?" Dante frowned slightly. "Is there a problem at the farm?"
"With Clark there, what could go wrong?" Harley pouted, then said excitedly, "After you left yesterday, I had nothing to do, so I decided to organize everyone to investigate the KSI Company that is cooperating with the U.S. Military to hunt down Optimus Prime and the others."
"Guess what we found?"
"The actual controller of this company is a woman named Carla Radames."
Carla?
Dante raised his eyebrows. If nothing else…
This was the fake Ada from Resident Evil 6.
Thinking of this, he just glanced at Ada next to him, but did not interrupt the excited Harley.
"At first, we did not pay much attention, but when Lois traced back from this name, she found that she once served as the chief researcher in a research institute specializing in genetic cloning."
"And the director of this research institute is the name we heard from Lex Luthor yesterday."
"Derek C. Simmons."
Dante nodded.
Although all this was unexpected, it was reasonable.
If no one was pushing, the U.S. Military actually had no need to hunt down the Transformers.
And The Family's purpose was nothing more than to control John and Teddy through the Transformers, and then use this to threaten Jonathan and Martha, ultimately achieving the goal of manipulating Superman.
To be honest, Dante really gritted his teeth and praised them.
Their naivety was truly unique.
These big geniuses.
Are they planning to drag the entire world down with them?
Just as Dante was planning how to kill these big geniuses, Jörmungandr suddenly popped her little head into the video.
"Daddy, daddy. When are you coming to pick up Jörmungandr?"
"Be good, stay with Aunt Harley for a while longer."
Dante's mouth curved slightly, his smile gentle with a hint of ruthlessness.
"Wait until Daddy kills a few big geniuses with bubbles in their brains first."
(To be continued.)
