Chapter 221 - Chapter 221: Father Hunter!

In America, within a mysterious holographic conference room.

"Amanda Waller! This collaboration with the 'Family' has been a complete loss this time!"

"You must bear the primary responsibility!"

"Exactly! Our America must take the lead in this redistribution of benefits!"

"Since we can't split the America General Bureau of the Federal Bureau of Investigation! Then let's do the opposite, seize all the benefits that originally belonged to the 'Family'!"

Several holographic projections sat around a large round table, conversing loudly, either discussing or reprimanding.

But Amanda Waller remained silent.

Her current situation was very awkward.

The collaboration with the "Family" had just begun when Derek C. Simmons, the head of the entire Family, was taken out.

She could only turn her guns, tear apart her former allies, and devour them.

This was originally her prepared Plan B.

However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was very interested in the remaining forces of the Family.

The American Government wanted to absorb these forces and assets.

But the Federal Bureau of Investigation was preparing to wipe them out.

Amanda Waller couldn't accept it.

The politicians behind her couldn't accept it even more.

However, the American Government has always had no command authority over the America General Bureau, only advisory power.

To put it bluntly, in the eyes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, everything the politicians in the White House said was nonsense.

Everything was decided by the supreme leaders of the World Federation.

And those few have always been committed to promoting complete federalization of the entire World, which is global unification.

Therefore, these politicians of the American Government have actually been secretly working against the World Federation.

"Leaders, it's useless for you to sit here complaining to me now, instead, why don't you let me think of a way to try and secure a portion of the benefits for our side, so we don't truly lose everything?"

Although Amanda Waller was annoyed by the indecisive and useless behavior of these politicians, she naturally didn't show it on the surface.

Instead, she tried her best to appear as if she was sharing their worries.

This sentence, though it had no substantial effect, at least stopped the ceaseless chatter of these politicians.

"...So what do you plan to do?"

"I've already dispatched the Suicide Squad."

"Suicide Squad?" The holographic projections were silent for a moment before asking, "Is your Suicide Squad... really useful?"

"Although it can't compare to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's resources, I also have the entire America behind me, so how could I not find a few superhumans?" Amanda Waller shrugged. "It's definitely enough to give the Federal Bureau of Investigation a surprise."

"After all, within the Suicide Squad, there is the existence of a 'God'."

God.

As this word came out, the holographic projection politicians finally showed satisfied expressions.

"If this operation is successful, we will consider letting you replace Derek C. Simmons in his original position."

After speaking, the politicians disconnected one after another.

The conference hall plunged into complete darkness.

Amanda Waller slowly closed her eyes, then let out a long breath.

Derek C. Simmons's position?

Are you kidding? Isn't that just a brand new scapegoat position?

What Amanda Waller wanted was not to become the biggest chess piece, but to truly become a chess player.

What she wanted was the highest position in the White House.

What she wanted was to make America great again.

Those politicians were merely stepping stones that she couldn't kick away for now.

Thinking of this, Amanda Waller opened her communicator.

"Suicide Squad Alpha, Suicide Squad Beta, move out!"

"Deathstroke received. Alpha Squad commencing action."

"Punisher received. Beta Squad commencing action."

After hearing the two Captains reply to her, Amanda Waller opened her eyes.

After so long of lying low, disguising, and feigning weakness, it was time to see results.

Surely, nothing could go wrong at a time like this, could it?

... ...

On a private island on the U.S. West Coast.

"Such a large island is private property? These rich people have truly redefined my understanding of the World."

Skye pushed aside the bushes in front of her while complaining to Coulson.

"Then you shouldn't complain to me, you should have a good chat with Oliver," Coulson teased. "He, as a true rich person, should know more about this kind of thing than a poor Agent like me."

"Come on, Coulson, don't pick on me," Oliver Queen complained through the communicator to the two who were not father and daughter but closer than father and daughter. "I'm not a superhero like Tony or Bruce, compared to them, I'm just a poor person who barely belongs to the same class."

"Hmm, little green, what you said is truly both humble and infuriating," Wade Wilson stood on a tree trunk, looking left and right. "I also want to be a poor person with billions in assets."

"You guys... do you have to chat idly during a mission?" Melinda May emerged from the bushes behind Coulson. "Although this is just cleanup work, the remnants of the 'Family' certainly won't just surrender."

"May is right, vigilance is a good thing," Captain America, meanwhile, swam directly ashore from another side of the island, forming a pincer attack. "But I also don't quite understand the concept of rich people... I only remember that Howard Stark's manor back then was probably much larger than our Base."

With Captain America smoothing things over, Melinda May's lecturing tone was significantly softened.

Melinda May was almost a perfect Agent.

It was just that her excessive seriousness tended to put pressure on other team members.

Especially, when what she said was indeed correct.

"Although we received the mission from Director Fury, we only know that this island is one of the two major Bases revealed by Derek C. Simmons. Even Simmons himself isn't entirely clear on the specific situation."

Coulson walked through the jungle, his footsteps making the dry branches on the ground crunch, crunch loudly.

"So we really need to be extra careful. The 'Family,' under the leadership of Derek C. Simmons, was involved in many areas, including superhuman research and biochemical virus research, and it's even possible they combined the two."

As Coulson spoke, he realized they were gradually emerging from the forest.

The view suddenly opened up.

A large research park was hidden right in the center of this primitive jungle.

However, neither the Federal Bureau of Investigation's satellites nor the Wayne Group's satellites could detect anything but a lush green expanse of primitive jungle from the feedback images.

The secrecy level here must have been very high within the "Family."

They even used satellite shielding devices.

"Captain, have you found the research park yet?"

"I just arrived, but... I ran into a little trouble."

"Trouble?"

"Yes, I met a person... a girl who claimed to be the daughter of an acquaintance." Captain America paused, then continued. "You all be careful too, they might have accomplices."

"Accomplices?"

Captain America hung up the communication temporarily before Coulson could finish speaking.

He looked at the red-haired girl sitting casually on the park wall in front of him and sneered.

"Say it again, what was your dad's name?"

"Red Skull?"

"Then remember this! I am your father's hunter!"

(To be continued.)
