Chapter 10 - RETURNED TO RED MOON PACK

"She asks me because she wants to ask about her family." Dalton sat down on his chair, his long fingers intertwined together, while his dull blue eyes couldn't see the disdain look that was thrown at him, but he still could feel how pissed Collin was with his stubbornness.

"And why don't you let her to have a contact with her family?" Collin asked him, though he knew what the answer could be.

For other people, who listened to this reason must find this ridiculous. A strong alpha like Dalton, despite his eyes, would have this issue, it was simply unbelievable.

Dalton was afraid that Meera would leave for her family. He didn't want to admit this and there was no way he would admit such thing, but Collin knew him more than anyone in this pack.

"You don't think her family will come here and drag her away, right? That will be a suicide mission to mess with our pack." Collin shook his head, but Dalton refused to speak about this no matter how many times he tried.

And right at that time, Darren entered the study room without even knocking like usual.

"Can you learn how to knock?" Collin grumbled to see Darren waltzed into the room, he was carefree, but the creased between his brows told him there was something that trouble him.

"Meera wants to walk around the pack," Darren reported. He slouched next to Collin and stared at the alpha. "I have told her to not have her hope high." He had taken the precaution if Dalton's answer was the way he thought it would be.

Meanwhile, Collin clicked his tongue in annoyance. "If you are so worried about her, why don't you go out with her? I am so sick to see you like this. Don't you know the rumor about you out there had gone wild?"

"But that's true," Darren chimed in, which received a hard glare from Collin. "Well, most the rumors are true, but they speak about it in ill manner, which caused misunderstanding."

The problem with that was; Dalton didn't have any intention to make things straight, he let those rumors turned so wild, but at the same time, those rumors protected him, with that, he didn't need to interact with many people, since he hated that activity.

"Go with her and try to talk to her, you only make her hate you if you keep doing this." Collin frowned with Dalton lack of response.

However, instead of listening to what Collin said, Dalton growled at him viciously. He threw a dagger look at his beta, which made him shut his mouth in an instant.

They could only push Dalton this far, but more than this it would be them, who would be in danger, thus they didn't bring this topic again, at least for now.

===========================

Fortunately, Meera used to spend her day inside her room and rarely went out of her house, even when she was still in her pack.

Therefore, when she had to be locked in this room for almost two months, she was not at the breaking point yet, she could manage herself just fine, especially when Margie would bring her book to read and sketch book for her to draw, it was Dalton's attitude and the way he treated her, which made Meera agitated.

"I heard you want to go for walk in the pack."

Meera jolted in her chair and there was a long line on her sketch book that was not supposed to be there.

"I will walk you," Dalton said in his guttural voice, as if this was something that taxed him. His eyes were the color of black, which meant he could see her.

However, when Meera didn't move from her place, he became frustrated and snapped at her.

"What are you waiting for? Winter?!" he growled at the young girl, who looked startled by the way he talked to her.

With that, Meera scrambled to her feet and put away her sketch book, she indeed asked Darren to take her walk in the pack, but why it was Dalton, who came to see her? in all honesty, she didn't want to see him right now.

"Come here, Meera," Dalton said impatiently, because she moved as slow as a snail and this made Meera was afraid that he would start to do the same thing like last time.

The memory of what happened the last time they met kept flooding in her mind and this made her face flushed crimson.

Lowering her head, she put on her jacket and scurried away from the room, but Dalton held her hand and looked at her disapprovingly.

"You walk with me," he grunted, as he held Meera's wrist, the way he held her hand was rather painful and this made Meera squirmed. "What? You want to run away from me?" Dalton glared at the girl, whose head only reached his shoulder. He didn't realize that she was this small and fragile.

"Hurt," Meera said meekly, she felt her wrist would snap into two if he put more pressure than this.

"What?" Dalton frowned, he didn't use to hold a girl. All he knew all his life was violence, thus it was strange for him to hold something delicately.

"My hand hurt, please loosen it a little bit."

=======================

Meera felt her wrist would snap into two when Dalton yanked her hand because she rushed ahead of him.

"My hand hurt, please loosen your grip a little bit," she said meekly, a crease formed between her brows when she tried to wriggle her hand. "I am not trying to run away from you."

That would be a waste of effort and energy for her to try to run away from Dalton in this situation. Not to say the result would be slim to none for her to success.

On the other hand, there was look of trouble on Dalton's expression when Meera said that, he looked at the girl, as if she grew another head, but he loosened his grip a little bit, which made the furrow between her brows slightly disappeared.
