Chapter 448 - 448: The Fall Before Reinforcements

Thor ultimately failed to snap his fingers.

It was not because anyone disliked the cheese flowing through his veins.

It was because Banner discovered something was terribly wrong.

"Guys, get over here, you need to see this!"

Banner, already merged with the Hulk, rapidly worked the control panel and pulled up live satellite footage.

A three dimensional projection of the Earth above their world appeared in the air.

"The approaching Earth has suddenly solidified!"

Banner's expression was grim, his voice tight with tension. "Our earlier theory was right. That Earth is going to collide with ours!"

At this moment, half of all life on Earth had already been wiped out by Thanos's snap.

Confusion and despair spread across the world like the aftermath of a global catastrophe.

Even Kamar-Taj was overwhelmed during this period. With Doctor Strange absent, Wong, the temporarily appointed Sorcerer Supreme, struggled to hold back repeated invasions by dimensional demon gods.

Because of this, the Avengers here had received no warning from Kamar-Taj, or from Strange.

They had no idea that the Earth approaching them was, from the very beginning, the signal of two universes colliding.

The Avengers of Universe b2 gathered in front of the projection.

They stared at the other Earth, which looked increasingly ominous the longer they observed it.

At that moment.

Outside the conference room, Nebula successfully opened the quantum channel.

In absolute silence, Thanos and his entire army appeared in orbit around Earth.

Thousands of cannon muzzles across the massive fleet opened at once. Terrifying energy gathered in blinding flashes as every weapon locked onto the Avengers Facility and fired.

The energy cannons fell through the atmosphere like a meteor storm.

In the blink of an eye, they struck the Avengers Base.

The fortress that Tony had built to withstand almost anything now looked as fragile as stacked toy blocks.

It collapsed and shattered under the raging explosions.

After a single round of bombardment, the Avengers Base, once surrounded by lush forests and open grasslands, was reduced to a scorched black wasteland wrapped in towering flames.

Within the burning ruins, Thanos was teleported to the ground from his flagship.

He held his double bladed weapon and calmly surveyed the destruction, his eyes filled with endless coldness.

After ordering the undercover Nebula to locate the Infinity Stones, Thanos drove his blade into the ground, removed his helmet, and slowly sat down on a large rock.

He waited.

He waited for the Avengers to rise again, like a king waiting to execute those who dared oppose him.

Minutes later, Banner burst out from beneath the rubble. Thor smashed his way free. Captain America and Iron Man followed close behind.

After a quick exchange confirming that the Stones were temporarily safe, the four of them walked forward together.

Thanos stood as well and lifted his weapon.

The final battle began.

Unlike the Main Universe, Banner here had not yet snapped his fingers.

So this time, it was four Avengers facing Thanos alone.

And yet, it still ended in absolute defeat.

Tony pushed his latest Mark Armor, refined through five full years of upgrades, to its limit.

Captain America flawlessly unleashed the hammer and shield combination he had practiced in secret.

Thor fought on with stubborn resilience despite his heavy body.

Banner restrained his immense power with reason.

But even so, they were crushed.

Thanos shattered Captain America's shield, knocked Thor and Banner unconscious, and shattered several of Tony's ribs.

In the end, only Captain America remained standing, gripping his broken shield as he faced Thanos alone.

Behind Thanos, an endless army poured onto the battlefield.

This time, there was no restored population to come rushing in as reinforcements.

A suffocating sense of despair blanketed the world beneath the blood red sunset.

Captain America tightened the straps of his shattered shield, clenched his teeth, and stood alone before the enemy.

"I brought balance to the universe," Thanos said coldly. "And you dared to celebrate with your little triumphs."

"This time, I will completely crush your small, fragile planet. There will be no mercy."

Behind him, the massive army surged forward like a living tide.

A look of calm determination flashed through Captain America's eyes. Adrenaline flooded his body, numbing the pain as he charged straight toward Thanos.

He knew he would not survive.

But he had promised to fight until the very end.

At that instant.

Three figures tore through the sky so fast they became streaks of light.

The red and gold Anti Superman Armor struck Thanos head on with a deafening sonic boom.

A violent shockwave exploded outward.

Captain America raised his shield to block the impact. Even with the temporary power of Mjolnir, he was forced to slide back several steps.

Staring in disbelief, he instantly recognized the armor as a Tony style Mark suit.

And yet, Thanos had been sent flying backward by that single blow.

The Mark Armor did not stop. It pursued him through the air, delivering punch after punch, each strike detonating with thunderous explosions.

The two figures vanished into the distance, locked in brutal aerial combat.

That fighting style was nothing like Iron Man's.

It left Captain America stunned.

Who was that?

Was it another Tony from a different Earth?

But how could Tony fight like that?

He did not know the answer.

He only knew that the newcomer was on their side.

"All units, focus fire on that target!" Ebony Maw's voice echoed across the battlefield as he commanded Thanos's army.

Energy weapons across the field shifted, locking onto the red and gold armor.

"Watch out!" Captain America shouted as he raised Mjolnir and prepared to charge back into the fight.

But two crimson beams were even faster.

They swept across the battlefield, slicing clean through the advancing army. Wherever the beams passed, enemies were cut in half instantly.

High in the sky, Thanos's fleet moved again.

Thousands of cannons opened and began charging for another full scale strike.

At that moment, a golden figure hurled a glowing lasso.

The rope looked no thicker than a household cord and not particularly long.

Yet as it flew, it extended endlessly, wrapping around Thanos's massive flagship again and again.

With a single powerful pull, the golden figure yanked the lasso tight.

The enormous warship, once terrorizing entire galaxies, was sliced into long segments like soft tofu.

As the lasso retracted, the shattered ship detonated piece by piece.

The burning explosions lit up more than half the sky.

At the same time, the red and gold Mark Armor slammed Thanos down from the air with a thunderous impact.

Captain America thought it was finally over.

Then a blonde girl in a red and blue uniform descended from above.

A burst of Heat Vision tore straight through Thanos.

Almost instantly, the golden figure appeared again, drew a shining sword, and split what remained of Thanos in two.

His body was reduced to scattered fragments.

Purple blood sprayed across the battlefield as severed pieces rolled across the scorched ground.

Captain America stood frozen in place.

He was completely stunned.
