Since the college entrance exam, Song Yan hadn't returned to school. Even when filling out his application, it was his uncle who had chosen Shuimu University for him. So he didn't know that Xiang Feifei had also been admitted there.

His feelings toward Xiang Feifei were complicated. Before he obtained the Ring System, he was still a virgin, while she was a goddess in his eyes.

Although he had noticed her, he hadn't had any particular thoughts in his mind.

After acquiring the system, he unexpectedly saved Xiang Feifei from an A-level wanted criminal. She gradually entered his world. Later, when he considered participating in a piano competition, it was Xiang Feifei who encouraged him. Because of her, his relationship with Song Xue and his aunt improved, leaving him grateful toward her.

Through their interactions, he realized that Xiang Feifei was intelligent and considerate. Coupled with her outstanding looks, he began to develop affection for her—and even entertained the idea of pursuing her.

However, the Blood Rose warned him that Xiang Feifei had ulterior motives for approaching him.

This revelation planted seeds of resentment in his heart. When he discovered her true intentions during one encounter, he instinctively began to distance himself.

Later, when Feifei requested to retreat in order to break through her cultivation, they didn't meet again.

Just when he was on the verge of forgetting her, she appeared at the welcome party. The sound of her guzheng revived memories he had long buried.

Song Yan smiled faintly at her.

By October, the campus already carried a slight chill. The night wind swayed Feifei's skirt, giving her a sense of floating with the breeze.

Undoubtedly, the Xiang Feifei he hadn't seen for months looked more beautiful than ever, her aura more refined. Tonight, she would play the guzheng. Dressed in a flowing white traditional gown, the dim streetlights cast soft shadows over her, giving her the ethereal appearance of an exiled immortal fallen from the Ninth Heaven.

Neither of them spoke as they unconsciously wandered into a relatively secluded corner of the campus.

"There's a pavilion over there. Let's go sit," Song Yan said, pointing to a structure some seven or eight meters away.

"Yes," Xiang Feifei nodded.

But as they approached, Song Yan heard heavy breathing from behind the pavilion. Curious, he peeked and saw a couple entwined intimately, their labored breaths echoing.

He wasn't naïve—he knew enough to avert his eyes.

Quickly, he turned to Feifei. "Maybe we shouldn't go to the pavilion?"

"Why?" she asked, puzzled.

The couple's breathing grew more urgent, accompanied by unmistakable sounds. Feifei's face flushed bright red. Though inexperienced, she wasn't entirely ignorant.

"Let's go."

She grabbed Song Yan's hand and pulled him away as if a monster lurked inside the pavilion.

Eventually, they reached a pond, though Feifei hadn't let go of his hand.

"Do you know why I came to Shuimu University?" she asked softly, her gaze toward the night sky.

"Why?" Song Yan asked instinctively.

"I told you—it's because of you. Do you believe me?"

He remained silent. Despite his intelligence, he felt powerless in the face of his instincts and emotions.

"I approached you before for a purpose. I even thought I was only following my master's orders. But after months apart, I realized there's someone in my heart… a seed that quietly took root and began to grow."

She turned to him, her clear, watery eyes reflecting a hint of lingering affection.

Song Yan felt an unexpected tremor in his chest. Emotions he thought had faded suddenly surged, nourished by her presence.

A gust of night wind blew.

Feifei shivered in her thin gown.

Instinctively, he extended his hand and held her close, wanting only to offer warmth.

"Can you forgive me?"

Feifei didn't resist. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her cheek to his chest.

"You didn't hurt me, did you?" Song Yan whispered.

"Thank you."

Feifei released him, stepping back, and smiled. "I'll come see you again."

With that, she turned and left. Her gown floated like a sprite through the night.

Song Yan reached out, but grasped nothing. Her scent lingered in the air.

He bitterly shook his head. "You already have Hansa and Summer… and yet, you dare to get involved with another woman?"

Even as he said this, he felt no regret.

One does what one must; there's no room for regret.

The next morning, Song Yan gathered Ba Xinyu, Long Bo, and Gan Zhipeng. He told them he would be away for a while. During his absence, Ba Xinyu would supervise Long Bo and Gan Zhipeng's training.

Though they had been practicing for some time, their experience didn't compare to Ba Xinyu, who had trained since childhood. Their internal cultivation was not yet complete. However, their skill and temperament had improved greatly, and their techniques were now formidable. If Long Bo were to face Cui Zhixian again at this stage, it would likely be a draw.

After a ten-day break, Song Yan returned to his long-rented apartment.

The layout was simple: just a bed and a DVD player. The living room overflowed with novels, movies, and drama discs.

During this time, he had read over a thousand novels and watched hundreds of films and series.

Yet the world held so many stories. Even so, Song Yan was uncertain whether the world he was about to enter existed in any of the books, movies, or shows he had experienced.

"Meow… I want to enter the virtual world!"

Before him, three doors appeared: copper, silver, and gold.

"Which portal will you choose?" the voice of Meow asked.

"Copper door!"

In an instant, darkness swallowed him, and he vanished from his apartment, appearing in a circular corridor.

The hall was empty. Nine portals lined the walls.

"The nine portals represent nine worlds. You may enter any one. But before you do, know this: once inside, your reputation and lottery functions will be temporarily disabled. You must rely solely on your own strength. If you die there, it is real death—so be careful," the voice continued.

"I understand!"

Song Yan nodded and approached a door, pushing it open.

An irresistible force pulled him in, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared.

[Author's Note]: Haha, time travel finally begins. Are you excited?
