Leonardo's POV
I left the hospital with my head still burning and my chest tight with pressure.
Two bodyguards were standing in front of Valerie's room. I gave that order myself. Not because I was paranoid but because I'd stopped believing the world was safe for her. I assigned another person to handle Max's situation. Administration. Security. Whatever was needed.
I didn't want any gaps.
When I arrived at the location Sebastian sent me, I knew immediately this was not a place anyone would want to remember.
An old building. Peeling paint. The smell of damp air and dust. Flickering neon lights in the hallway made the atmosphere even more unbearable.
Sebastian was already inside.
"He's in the back," he said shortly.
I nodded and walked in.
Luke was sitting on a metal chair. His hands were tied behind his back. A dirty cloth gagged his mouth. A black cloth covered his eyes. His body trembled slightly, whether from cold or fear, I didn't care.
I stopped right in front of him.
