That morning, the sky over Avellyn City appeared gloomy, blanketed by a thin mist that seemed reluctant to move. Inside the soundproof cabin of his car, Leonardo Rhys stared straight at the asphalt road while holding his phone to his ear. Jax's voice on the other end sounded slightly static, yet his tone was incredibly serious.
"Change your route home later, Leo," Jax said bluntly. "Our basecamp has moved. Never set foot in the Slither Ring again. The place is no longer safe."
Leo furrowed his brow for a moment, his fingers tapping the steering wheel in an irregular rhythm. "I understand. Send the location to me through a private channel," he replied briefly.
"I will. But before I hang up..." Jax paused, his voice dropping low as if ensuring no other ears were listening. "There's something very important I need to discuss with you. Very important. But it's better if we talk face-to-face."
"Alright. I'll stop by your place after office hours," Leo replied before ending the call.
