Needless to say, light moves incredibly fast. Doberman, who had already rushed in front of the Guardian and was a hair breadth away from cleaving it with his blade, had no time to dodge. He gave everyone a front-row seat to a performance of taking a beam directly to the face.
"Boom—!"
The large Guardian beam perfectly replicated its characteristics from the game. It didn't pierce directly through Doberman body instead, it exploded immediately upon contact with him.
The violent explosion, unsurprisingly, sent Doberman flying back. Had he not grabbed the Dodo Advance railing in time, he might have been blasted all the way back onto the surrounding ships that were attached to the Dodo Advance with grappling hooks.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Doberman leaped back onto the deck and exhaled a puff of black smoke, looking quite disheveled. Even with the protection of Armament Haki, that blast was not easy to take.
That was an ion cannon Purah Meow had created based on Shermie Meow abilities. Its power and speed were by no means inferior to the laser cannons Vegapunk developed by mimicking Kizaru abilities.
In fact, because the Guardian stored a massive amount of lightning supplied by Shermie Meow, the power of this ion cannon could even rival a laser beam fired by Kizaru himself.
Aside from this, there were actually large Guardians that utilized fire beams stored in the Dodo Advance warehouse. However, considering the ship hull wasn't entirely fireproof, they hadn't been deployed.
On the other side, the Zonai Golem had also engaged in a fight with a CP0 agent. Facing the Six Powers used by CP0, the Zonai Golem held its ground completely.
Although the Zonai Golem "artificial idiot" AI was somewhat rigid in terms of combat technique...
Its body was a literal "Iron Body," and a high-strength alloy laced with Sea Prism Stone at that. When the CP0 agent Finger Pistol struck it, he couldn't even leave a mark instead, he nearly snapped his own fingers.
This forced the CP0 agent to switch tactics, engaging the Zonai Golem in a struggle using only long-range attacks like Flying Finger Pistol and Tempest Kick.
However, the Zonai Golem was just as formidable at range, as it could also fire ion cannons. Beyond that, it was equipped with the same beam guns as the mechanical spheres, as well as hand cannons and machine guns with live ammunition.
Naturally, it also possessed the same energy shield as the mechanical spheres it just didn't need to activate it yet since the Zonai Golem currently had no pilot.
Furthermore, unlike the somewhat clunky "Sage of Spirit" from the game, the Zonai Golem Purah Meow created was not lacking in speed at all.
Unless the CP0 agent fled frantically using Shave, he wouldn't be able to shake it off. Most importantly, as a "lifeless object," the Zonai Golem produced no "voice" or presence, so while it might not win outright, it had no trouble stalling a CP0 agent.
However, the joint forces of the World Government and the Navy consisted of more than just one Vice Admiral and a CP0 agent.
"I'll assist you!"
Onigumo, holding swords in both hands and using Life Return to control his hair to hold six more, took over for Doberman to engage the large Guardian. After catching his breath, Doberman rushed forward once again.
With two targets to deal with, the single-eyed large Guardian found it difficult to fire its ion cannon. However, it wasn't like the original version in the game with only a beam attack as its sole means of offense...
Just as Doctor Octopus could rely on four mechanical tentacles to send Spider-Man scurrying, the large Guardian four "long legs" were certainly not just for show.
What more...
Within its tin-can-like body, several smaller mechanical tentacles could actually extend, ensuring that in terms of sheer numbers, it would not lose out to Onigumo "eight arms."
Meanwhile, two masked CP agents had joined the side of the CP0 member currently entangled with the Zonai Gundam.
Although they did not wear white suits and were likely not CP0, their strength was by no means poor at the very least, they both possessed knowledge of Armament Haki.
However, these five represented the top combat power for this operation. After all, in their eyes, this was merely the seizure of an unmanned ship, which hardly required a team led by too many powerful individuals.
In reality, the person in charge here was initially only Vice Admiral Doberman. Onigumo and the CP0 member had only been temporarily reassigned as a precaution after discovering the Dodo Advance playing on their own main ship.
From their perspective, such a lineup was already foolproof. They never expected this ship to harbor so many Guardians, let alone special units like the Stalker and the Zonai Gundam.
What they expected even less was that the Stalker and the Zonai Gundam also had reinforcements of their own.
Their backup was not the Flame Summons or the small Guardians currently trading blows with the other Marines and CP agents.
Instead, it was a member of the "Black Organization Squad" who had previously stored most of its "body" in the warehouse to better play with the Dodo Advance—the Metal Tiger, Gin!
"ROAR—!!!"
Shortly after Onigumo and the two agents from an unknown CP branch joined the fray, a silver-white metallic storm erupted from the open hatch, accompanied by a soul-shaking tiger roar.
A massive tiger head manifested from within the storm, devastatingly sweeping every enemy in its path into its body.
"Waaaaagghhh—!!!"
Those caught in the metallic storm, whether Marines or CP agents, let out agonized screams.
After all, being thrown into high-speed rotating metal powder was little different from death by a thousand cuts—in fact, the situation was arguably even worse.
"Another Logia?!"
Onigumo couldn't help but exclaim.
Beside him, Doberman made a decisive move, turning to meet the threat while shouting to the CP0 member, "Mozambia! Help me block him! We can't let him continue this destruction!"
The CP0 member named Mashut also understood the gravity of the situation. Despite his irritation that a mere Marine Vice Admiral dared to command him, he followed suit, leaving the Zonai Gundam to his two subordinates and lunging with Doberman toward the rampaging Gin.
"Finger Pistol: Ten-Finger Pistol!"
"Gale Thrust!"
A longsword and fingers, both wrapped in Armament Haki, pierced into the metallic storm almost simultaneously.
However, the blood Mashut and Doberman expected did not appear. Gin, having been struck, showed no signs of discomfort. Instead, two metallic tiger claws immediately lunged out from the storm, swiping toward their heads.
Mashut and Doberman hurried to parry, but Gin claws suddenly dipped downward, gut-punching toward their midsections.
"Chie, chie."
Despite immediately retreating the moment they sensed Jean change in tactics, they were still slashed by those sharp tiger claws.
Their clothes and skin were ripped open, splashing two streaks of blood onto the deck of the Dodo Advance.
Only then did Mozambia and Doberman realize, with a start, that this metal tiger, much like those Guardians, possessed no "voice" that could be sensed with Observation Haki.
"Is this also a 'puppet' created by the 'Puppeteer'?!"
Doberman expression turned grim. Purah Meow genius in technology seemed to exceed their expectations...
"No... there is still a difference." Mozambia, who had seen Spandam Elephant Sword Funkfreed, continued to engage Jean alongside Doberman while observing closely.
"A 'voice' can still be faintly heard from its body. This situation is very similar to the result of giving a Zoan Devil Fruit ability to an inanimate object."
"Vegapunk technology?" Doberman face grew even more unsightly. "We should never have turned a blind eye when Sherwin scavenged Punk Hazard!"
After Stussy reported the truth about Punk Hazard, there had actually been a debate within the World Government and the Navy.
However, considering the unique nature of the Hunter as a Warlord, they ultimately chose not to pursue the matter.
It could be said that before falling out with the World Government, Sherwin held more privileges than any other Warlord—surpassing even the strongest, Mihawk, or the most uniquely positioned, Doflamingo.
"What use is talking about that now? Just focus on finding a way to deal with this tiger!"
Mozambia snapped back impatiently, his eyes flickering toward their surroundings...
"No, we should focus on how to make a clean escape first."
The reason for saying this was naturally because their subordinates had already been mostly defeated by those flame summons and guardians in this short span of time.
Only Onigumo and a few others, like the two CP agents who mastered Armament Haki, were still holding on. However, with the tide turning against them, their collective defeat was only a matter of time.
Furthermore, in Mozambia understanding, there was still a "Cat Mink" of unknown strength hiding on this ship who had yet to make a move.
