Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: SECRET REALM

..

"A secret realm.. appearing here.. not just that.. it's a secret realm from Tianmen.. the damn space stone also managed to bag a secret realm.. but I don't know if this is the only one.. "

As I pondered into my own thoughts.. the two agents already left after taking their drinks..

I finished my coffee and stood up slowly, sliding a few bills under the plate and outside, the sun had already dipped behind the trees.. but the town was quieter than usual.

..

Later that night, far from the town's main road, deep within a nearby stretch of forgotten woodland, I stood beneath a ridge of moss-covered stone. Ordinary eyes would miss it, a shallow overhang, a curtain of vines, maybe a bit of fog pooling around it. But my divine sense saw through it.

There it was.. a ripple in the air, a distortion that shouldn't belong in this world.. I stood a few meters from the entrance, and let my divine sense sweep forward, probing it gently.. Inside was a greenery land.. full of mystical beasts, ruined buildings, traps, treasure, and then.. an inheritance..

This secret realm is for Golden Core cultivators.. if this were to appear in Tianmen, countless Golden Cores will rush and try to take it.. and have a chance to reach Nascent Soul.. that's right this secret realm has a Nascent Soul Inheritance..

But anyway I wouldn't allow this place to be discovered, not by SHIELD, Avengers, Hydra, or just anyone... considering they would die immediately upon entering by the beasts in the secret realm.

I raised my hand, fingers forming a seal, and traced a formation in the air. Thin silver lines carved into space itself, looping into spirals and runes only I could see. The entrance trembled then it became quiet..

"I'll seal it from sight, mind, and sense. If fate wills it, the realm itself will choose."

And it would.. that's just how they work.. realms that survived the passage of time didn't need babysitting.. they needed silence.. waiting for the right person.. but of course there's other realms that work differently.

I gave it another last look then walked away towards the soft lights of the town.

"Although there's a very low possibility if Immortal Cultivators exist in this world.. Qi still exists maybe someone from K'un-Lun might have the chance to enter..."

In a sudden moment.. Aran stopped then vanished in an instant.. then loud footsteps was going towards the direction where Aran was just standing..

SHIELD agents, at least a dozen. Leading them was Agent Sitwell, holding a scanning device in one hand, eyes wide.

"Damn it! How could this happen?!"

He was gasping, scanning the air with increasing panic.

"There!" one of the agents shouted suddenly, pointing straight ahead.

The others raised their rifles instinctively.

"Contact Fron-"

But the agent froze mid-sentence, with their eyes wide.

Nothing was there now.

Just wind.

"Sir," the agent said, lowering his hand slowly, voice unsure. "There was someone here… I swear I saw someone standing right there."

Sitwell didn't reply immediately. He slowly approached the spot, his eyes scanning the ground, then the ridge.

The scanner in his hand let out a high-pitched whine before going silent altogether.

"…The anomaly's gone," he muttered. "No trace of spatial activity, no radiation, no footprints, no residual heat... just nothing..."

The other agents shifted uneasily, exchanging glances.

One of them cleared his throat "You think this is related to the pulse yesterday?"

"I can't think of a single thing anymore," Sitwell muttered under his breath. "I hate magic."

Then louder, to the group "Sweep the area again. Every inch. We're not leaving until we find out what the hell this was"

As they fanned out, the wind passed through the trees again—soft, almost like a sigh.
