Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The Killer Queen's ability is to turn anything she touches into a bomb. She can then detonate it by pressing a button with her right thumb.

There are two types of explosions: one where the person who touches the bomb is killed while the transformed object is unharmed, and another where the transformed object explodes itself.

The transformed object can choose which part to detonate; the detonated part turns to ash, and the explosion is silent.

The Killer Queen can only create one bomb at a time, and the transformed object can only detonate once.

The Killer Queen also possesses a second bomb in her left hand: the Withering Heart-Piercing Attack.

As Joey walked towards the door, the Killer Queen's basic abilities flashed through her mind—the abilities she currently possessed.

However, after only two steps, the shouts outside the door turned into chaotic screams of terror. Those screams quickly escalated into heart-wrenching screams and frantic shouts of panic.

"Something's happened!" This thought immediately flashed through her mind, but Joey didn't stop; instead, she quickened her pace and rushed to the window.

He cautiously lifted a corner of the window covered by a coarse cloth, and what he saw made him freeze in shock.

Bizarre-looking monsters, as if pieced together from various creatures, were emerging continuously from the woods not far from the village. At the same time, monsters with insect-like wings were swooping down from the sky towards the fleeing villagers.

The monsters weren't particularly large, most only slightly taller and stronger than an adult, but their terrifying appearance and cold-blooded brutality made them exceptionally frightening.

In the blink of an eye, the once peaceful village had been transformed into a living hell by the attack of more than a dozen monsters.

The villagers who had come to break down the door earlier were nowhere to be found.

These monsters didn't seem to intend to kill all the villagers. Many were simply captured and seemed poised to be taken away.

Joey felt his heart pounding, possibly exceeding two hundred beats per minute.

  His mind went blank.

Even though he had experienced a simple life-or-death struggle, he couldn't quickly adapt to the brutal, survival-of-the-fittest scene outside. It wasn't

until a loud rumble came from the doorway that Joey shuddered and regained his senses.

  A monster had discovered him!

Turning around, Joey's gaze fell on the Killer Queen. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but his body trembled uncontrollably.

Clenching his trembling teeth, Joey struggled to take a step closer to the door, which was being damaged and could break at any moment.

At the same time, Joey desperately tried to calm himself and think carefully, because he knew that only in this way could he find a glimmer of hope for survival!

Joey stopped less than two meters from the door. Killer Queen stepped in front of him, her eyes fixed on the door like Joey's.

Two meters—this was Killer Queen's maximum effective attack range.

More accurately, it was the maximum range of movement she could take away from Joey's body.

Just as Joey was ready, a sharp segment appeared on the wooden door, resembling the sharp blades of a praying mantis's forelimbs—tough and razor-sharp.

A creaking sound emanated from the door, making Joey's heart pound even faster.

The thumping sound seemed to ring directly in her ears.

Killer Queen, however, gradually approached the scythe-like segment that had pierced the door and was now withdrawing, and reached out a finger to touch it.

Without any surprise, Killer Queen's hand easily touched the sharp segment.

In that instant, a silent scream escaped Joey's lips. From that moment on, if he so desired, the instant his right thumb pressed the button would be the death knell for the monster outside. With that touch, the monster had become his bomb.

But as Joey gradually calmed down, he knew this wasn't the best time to detonate it.

There wasn't just one monster outside; he'd seen over a dozen from the window, and there were likely more lurking in the dense forest. The best approach was to lure the monster into the room and kill it.

Although, according to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure setting, those who weren't Stand users couldn't see Stands, Joey, who wasn't a Stand user, had already seen Stands. He couldn't be sure the creature outside wouldn't see Killer Queen.

Moreover, while Killer Queen's ability could kill silently, the light from the explosion couldn't be hidden.

The resulting flames could attract even more monsters, and Joey wasn't sure if he could survive the onslaught. But escaping by killing the monster and hiding seemed unlikely to Joey either.

Unconsciously biting his nails, Joey recalled what he had seen earlier. He discovered a dangerous piece of information: these strange monsters seemed to possess a degree of intelligence!

If so, it was almost impossible for them to miss his companions' disappearance.

Therefore, Joey quickly assessed the situation and realized he had only two choices: kill the intruding monsters and escape through the back window.

His previous observations indicated the monsters emerged from the nearby woods, making the back window a safe bet, and hiding in the woods would greatly increase his chances of survival.

The other option was to use the house as a base and try to wipe out all the monsters outside.

Without much hesitation, Joey decided to run.

How many monsters remained in the dense forest was unknown; escaping the village was his only way to survive. Otherwise, if a battle broke out and he was discovered, he would be surrounded and killed.

Before leaving, he made some preparations. He needed to take some things from the room, such as dry food, water, a flint and steel, weapons, rope, and other survival items. Ideally, he should find a map showing the surrounding terrain.

Without these things, even with some wilderness survival experience, he would face great difficulties after leaving the village.

He also needed bait to distract the monsters in the air; otherwise, even after leaving the house, he wouldn't have a chance to hide before being discovered.

Fortunately, he already had some ideas for bait, so he was more focused on collecting useful items.

He didn't have much time, as the monster that had cleaved the door had already seen him inside.

Joey easily found some basic necessities in the kitchen, but when he opened the bedside cabinet and pulled out a cloth bag, he froze.

The contents of the bag were items he didn't expect to find in this village:

  a pistol!

  A grenade!

  A cell phone!

  A flashlight!

There was also a map covered in markings and a wallet made of some kind of animal hide that emitted a faint white glow in his eyes.

Inside the wallet were several banknotes and an identification document, featuring a photo of a handsome, black-haired young man in a white combat uniform holding an assault rifle.

Below the photo was Joey's former name: Kira Yoshikage.

  What's going on?
