Fang Yuan slowly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Lin Zhaoyue.
She stood quietly before him, her beautiful eyes fixed entirely on his face. A gentle smile rested upon her lips, as though she had been waiting for this exact moment.
The instant their gazes met, her smile brightened.
"Congratulations on your enlightenment, husband."
Fang Yuan looked at her for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his own face.
"Thank you for protecting me."
He meant every word.
They had been in the middle of an invasion when he entered his state of enlightenment. Had it not been for his meticulous and reliable wife, the consequences could have been disastrous.
Even so, Fang Yuan did not become complacent simply because he had gained some understanding of the Dao of Space.
