Chapter 267: Flying Thunder God Technique: Shadow Flow Blade!
The talent for ninjutsu is not the same between Tailed Beasts, and the constitution of a Tailed Beast is not the same as a ninja's. Teaching the Three-Tails, Isobu, the Shadow Clone Technique was proving to be far more difficult than Keisuke's clone had ever anticipated.
He remembered how quickly the Five-Tails, Kokuō, had learned the Summoning Jutsu and Reverse Summoning Jutsu, and was now able to summon him at will. While their pre-existing contract had certainly helped, Kokuō's own natural talent could not be ignored.
In comparison, it seemed there was some kind of barrier between Isobu and ninjutsu that Keisuke couldn't understand. Two full days passed, and it still hadn't learned the B-rank Shadow Clone, or even the E-rank basic Clone Jutsu. Keisuke had at first suspected it was deliberately failing to waste his clone's time, as revenge for his earlier mistreatment. But he soon realized the truth: this turtle was just really, really bad at ninjutsu.
The Shadow Doppelganger, after a full day of trying, finally gave up and passed the teaching duties to Kakashi's group, telling them that "teaching Isobu will effectively increase your familiarity and intimacy with it." Since Rin and Shizune were medics and only Chunin, the task ultimately fell to Kakashi.
But even with a new teacher, Isobu made no progress. Its thick, gray shell seemed to effectively block the transmission of all knowledge. In the end, at Keisuke's suggestion, Kakashi even tried to teach it the basic Clone Jutsu, but to no avail.
The only positive outcome of the two days of "tutoring" was that Isobu's opinion of Kakashi had improved dramatically. Kakashi was stoic, quiet, and a loner, but at least he wasn't cruel, violent, and sharp-tongued like Nara Keisuke. Sometimes, Isobu felt that the way Keisuke looked at it was the same way it looked at the coral at the bottom of the sea.
Its dignity, which had been damaged by Keisuke, was being restored by Kakashi. How could it not have a better impression of him?
This morning, the five ninja arrived as usual to spend time with the Tailed Beasts. At the same time, Keisuke received a memory transfer from his clones in the lab. Another research project was complete.

He felt the urge to test it. 'There's no fighting on the front lines right now. 'Nara-Raikage' has already returned to Kumo with the Amber Purifying Pot, and 'Nara-Tsuchikage' is on his way to Iwa. Pakura was still living her shut-in life. And in the lab, the former Five-Tails Jinchuriki, Han, was idly chatting with the White Zetsu. With only two "inmates," Han would have gone crazy from boredom if he didn't have the Zetsu to talk to.
"Han, do you know what it feels like to poop?"
"Can we please not talk about this?"
"Han, how did you fight Nara Keisuke?"

The arrival of Keisuke went completely unnoticed. He stood in the center of the lab, silently observing Han. 'He's still energetic enough to talk. His life-force is stable. So, it really is possible to save a Jinchuriki after their beast has been extracted... what an incredible experiment.'

And since the range was dependent on his own sensory ability, which was constantly being improved by his Sage Art training, it would only get longer.
He dispelled his invisibility jutsu. Han and the Zetsu, in their containment cells, instantly noticed his familiar figure. The Zetsu had no desire for a confrontation, but Han, having had his Tailed Beast ripped from him, flew into a rage, slamming his fists against the glass. "Shadow of Darkness! It's you! You're finally back!"
"Long time no see. You're looking lively, Han," Keisuke said, casually greeting him as he began his own experiment. "It's good that you're not dead." He took out a fresh kunai, branded it with his new mark, cut his palm, and began to cultivate a blood sample.
"Of course I'm not dead!" Han slammed against the glass again. "Let me out!"
His chakra was sealed; he had no way of breaking the reinforced container.
"Is this how you treat your savior, Han?" Keisuke asked, continuing his work. "If you're smart, you'll stop talking nonsense. Or would you rather I transfer you to the Torture and Interrogation Department? Or perhaps... Root?"
