'Another failure huh…'

Cana Alberona thought to herself, as she could only inwardly sighed at herself within this Magical Minibus.

All this teenager wanted to do right now, is to drowned herself in several kegs of finest ale when they return back to Magnolia.

This is not her first time attending the S-Class Trails, she also attended the one last year as well.

Of course, she failed yet again to become S-Class, but that to be expected.

Cana herself is only a B-Class Wizard when it comes to combat. But that wasn't the reason why master, Makarov, let Cana into the trails.

After all, not all Wizards are combat types.

There are countless types of Magic systems in this world, too many for one to count. And among those Magic systems, are also those that more suited for non-combat, like Healing Magic and such.

This is the reason why Cana can attend the S-Class Trails, because of this, all due to the sub-type of Magic she had created with her Card Magic, the Tarot Cards.

Card Magic is a Holder Magic system, and like all Holder Magic types of magic systems, they all use something as a core, normally a Magic Item for the caster to cast spells with.

And in Card Magic's care, it is a Holder Magic that uses Magic Items known as Magic Cards to use them as mediums to create and cast spells.

This is why Card Magic can be very simple, and yet so complicated at the same time.

After all, there so many Magic Cards can be created via Card Magic, from cards that attack, defend, support, and even teleport either the caster or summon others to the caster.

That is why, for the welder of Card Magic, their magic system is bounded by both the knowledge as well their imagination. And also the reason why it is possible, to even create special Magic Cards, that are so complicated to even weld, never mind create.

And among the special kinds of Magic Cards, the Tarot Cards is among them.

Even if you able to create the Tarot Cards, if you lack the capability with Fortune Telling itself, those Tarot Cards are no different to normal cards.

However, in luck, not only Cana managed to create and formed these complicated Magic Cards, but she also has high capability with Fortune Telling as well.

After all, Fortune Telling abilities, no matter what kind of magic system it came from, is known as a rare kind of ability for any Wizard to have, making this the sole reason, why a B-Class Wizard like Cana, could attend the S-Class Trails, all because not all elites are combat driven.

A bitter smile came to Cana, as she wondered, why it feels like she is going further away from her main goal of joining Fairy Tail.

While others joined the Guild for money, some for a place to belong, Cana came to look for someone, to tell them who she is to them.

And yet… no matter how many chances Cana had in the past, she always found herself unable to speak up, especially who that person is.

Maybe she will be less than a coward, if her talent in Magic were like Erza or Mirajane?

They are only a year older than herself, and yet… at even at 15 years old, Erza became S-Class, and now Mirajane. They all are female Wizards, and yet Mirajane and Erza are on different levels, causing Cana to become somewhat jealous of them.

How can she not?

To her core, no matter how bold she may seem to be, she herself is a coward, a coward who is unsure and too shy what to do, especially when it comes to that person.

And it does not hard, when it comes to that person in question. She does not even have a spark of that person's talent. Of course, Cana Alberona's talent themselves are above average.

But being above average is nothing, when comes to either monsters or genius.

Making it so hard for Cana, to even speak properly to the person she had came for, all because she too plain compared to them.

Which is why, like a shadow, Cana only followed that person from the shadows, never telling them who she is to them, always watching them on the sideline.

Not to mention, even the real reason why Cana even learned Card Magic, no matter how costive it could get, like almost all Holder magic systems are like.

Is all because she knew, she knew with the Tarot Cards, that this magic system offers, as long you are capable of creating them, as well welding them.

Cana knew, with the Tarot Cards, she will always know where that person is, even if she could not talk to them due to this sense of inferior complex she has when it comes to this person.

As long she knew where that person is, that all mattered to the little girl, who came to Fairy Tail ever since she was six years old.

However, who will know that Cana not only managed to create the Tarot Cards but also has high capability with Fortune Telling that dwells within them.

That is why, from the moment when Makarov told Cana she can take part of the trails, due to this ability, to become an elite ranked Wizard, not in terms of combat, but in terms of ability.

Cana knew, if she were to become S-Class, she will be a step closer to that person, that is why she vowed with herself.

If she were to ever to become a S-Class Wizard, not only she will no longer feel so inferior to that person.

But she can tell him, tell Gildarts Clive, that she is his daughter, the true reason why Cana came to Fairy Tail a long time ago.

With a bitter laugh threaten to leave her lips, Cana hopelessly shake her head at this and noticed that Magnolia could now be seen in the far distance via the window besides her.

Cana stared at Magnolia, a town that too big to be called a town, but too small to be called a city.

It been over 9 years since Cana has come to Magnolia, ever since her mother's death, all she can seek out her father. And yet, even looking at the town, that so small where they are at, Cana cannot help to think back, when did this town felt like home?

While Cana thought, and looked at the distanced Magnolia slowly becoming bigger, each second that passes. All of the sudden the atmosphere within the Magical Minibus became heavier, causing Cana to removed her brown eyes from the distanced Magnolia, and towards the source why the atmosphere became heavy.

She wasn't the only one who felt this change in the air.

As everyone besides Makarov, who is still driving the Magical Minibus, turned towards Mirajane, the source why the atmosphere felt heavy all of the sudden.

Cana felt curious, why the winner, as well the newest S-Class Wizard of their Guild, is in a foul mood. Just like Makarov, Cana thought Mirajane would be over the moon, arrogant as well about it.

And yet, the rebellious teenager is either of them.

In truth, even when the trails began, Mirajane has been to quiet, more than usual.

Everyone in the Guild knew what Mirajane is like, she is more like a wildcard, then anything else. Arrogant for sure, but rebellious teenager has every right to be, with her talents alone.

Of course, there been times when Cana tried to befriend Mirajane in the past, but Mirajane never had been interested of making friends.

When Mirajane first joined Fairy Tail, she wasn't so arrogant, if anytghhing, she was very quiet and distanced towards everyone in the guild, as only ones she not distanced with, was her own family, besides that, Mirajane never shown interest in another, instead she avoided people, and even often looked at those that do approach her, with wariness at that.

And then Mirajane changed, stronger Mirajane got, more attention Mirajane had, attention that someone like Mirajane disliked, which properly was the time, when Majin persona came along, that arrogant, rebellious, as well disinterested side of Mirajane was manifested from her indifferent, quiet, and wary Mirajane.

Anyone who seen both sides of Mirajane when she joined the Guild, can guess this Majin side of Mirajane is a shield, a means and a way to push away those too close with her away from her.

And yet, different to the persons she has created, ever since the S-Class Trails has begun, Mirajane has been strange, often distracted, suddenly in a foul mood, like she is right now.

And how, this foul mood Mirajane is in, is stronger, strong enough to even affect the atmosphere within this Magical Minibus.

And among the heavy atmosphere, silence also came among everyone in this Magical Minibus, but the silence wasn't for long, when Makarov himself, who is still driving on the highway, glanced at Mirajane via the rearview mirror, broken this heavy silence.

"Something the matter, Mirajane?" Makarov asked.

"..."

However, Mirajane only answered in silence, nor did this rebellious teenager remove her eyes from the window, that gives her a clear view of Magnolia that is only few miles away where they are at.

If anything, among the heavy atmosphere around Mirajane, there also a serious look on her face, when she looked at Magnolia.

And this very serious expression, only became more serious, when Mirajane suddenly narrowed her eyes, while still looking at Magnolia in the distance.

This made not just Cana, but anyone who can see that look curious, why did Mirajane have such an expression, like she about to go to war.

However, before anyone could ask Mirajane why she became so serious for. This time around, it was Mirajane herself, who broke this new silence within the Magical Minibus, shocked everyone, even Makarov and Cana herself with her next actions.

"I am getting off."

It was simple words, words that slightly confused Cana and the others, that was before they figured out what Mirajane meant, when the very moment when Mirajane said those words, she activated her Take Over Magic, turning her right arm into a demonic one.

Only to use that demonic arm, to smashed her demonic claws through the window besides her!

The sound of glass shattering alerted everyone, even Makarov, who pulled back on breaks, drifting the Magical Minibus in a halt!

Those without seatbelts on them, which about everyone even Cana herself, flew from their sits, and hit their heads on either the roof of the Magical Minibus, or on the seats, or even into each other.

Of course, as Wizards who are strengthen by Magic Power itself, no one was badly hurt, even so, that did not stop a certain old Wizard from snapping, as he turned around towards those behind him, with an enraged voice.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, MIRAJANE!!?" Makarov went, roaring in rage, however, as soon he turned towards everyone behind him, Makarov's raged state so faded, as a blank expression appeared on not just Makarov, but almost everyone's faces, when they saw the empty seat where Mirajane were at.

Only face that wasn't blank with disbelief, was Cana herself, it was only a glimpse, but while everyone was falling all over the place, as the Magical Minibus drifting to a chaotic stop.

Within that moment, Mirajane, who seems unaffected by the chaos, thrown herself out of the Magical Vehicle, only for a pair of demonic wings to appeared on her back, as she soared into the sky.

Upon telling Makarov, what she just saw, the old man himself, sighed hearing Cana's words of Mirajane fleeing in that chaotic moment.

"Ah… if I knew something like that will happened… I will pay extra for that damned barrier installation." Makarov sighed heavily, putting his face in his hands.

Magic Vehicles are of course sturdy, even this prototype Magical Minibus he got from a friend, could handle even attacks from weak monsters, like C-Class.

Which is why, Makarov did not once think of paying for a barrier to be installed in the Magical Minibus.

"Okay… before we head off again, does anyone else want to 'open' a window and leave?" Makarov went, looking at the dozen of people in his Magical Vehicle, but no one, not even Cana said a word to this, causing Makarov to feel he has aged once again.

"Fine, let's go… seriously, you brats are going to be the death of me…" Makarov moaned, as he turned on the Magical Minibus' engine.

However, as the Magical Vehicle began to start, all of the sudden, the engine shut itself off a second later, causing not just Makarov, but everyone to look at each other.

So, Makarov tried again, but the engine did not turn on, nor it did for the third or fourth time either, causing Makarov to become annoyed, but that annoyance soon faded like a lie, when black smoke began to leave the hood of the Magical Minibus.

If that wasn't enough, soon flames danced along with black smoke, causing not just Makarov, but the rest of the Guild to have sweat running down their faces.

"I see, safe to use, my ass! Give me back my 800 million!!" Makarov roared in rage before the Magical Minibus exploded.

Luckily enough, everyone in the Magical Vehicle weren't attending the S-Class Trails for the laugh of it, as everyone, even Cana managed to flee through the windows by also breaking them like Mirajane had done, safely avoiding being hit by the explosion.
