Chapter 61 - Fairy 58: Broken – Part 6

Sometime later, at the only train station within Magnolia, a building that connects the railways that spread throughout and beyond the Fiore Kingdom.

Within such a place, that holds importance to both Wizards, and non-wizards alike, in one of the few trains that are stationed in Magnolia Train Station, lies the Strauss siblings, who are still waiting for the train to set off for their next mission.

Lisanna, who sitting next to Elfman, and across from Mirajane, cannot help but to look at her elder sister, causing this young maiden to recall and remember what just happened at the guild.

Who would have expected, from something so trivial and simple as opening a door, will lead to such an awkward situation?

After all, who could possibly know the moment those double doors open, Zack and Gray will be already there, about to reach the door handle, that Mirajane reached out before them.

In a way, that was a twisted sense of fate, for both her sister and Zack to leave and enter the guild at the same moment. Not to mention, that was properly the first time since that day, a year at that, since the two of them were so close to each other.

Lisanna always wondered, what happened at the trails, that made Mirajane become like that. It felt like she became a different person, especially how she coldly thrown Zack out of their home, and out of her life.

Just like Zack, Lisanna along with Elfman also believed, once the trails were over, Mirajane will stop being so foolish, and a little more honest with her feelings… and yet, if anything, Mirajane became more colder, and more distanced compared to before.

No matter how Lisanna thought of this, something must had happened, either before, in the middle, or just after the trails were done with, for her sister to become like that.

Not to mention, that not all that changed that day… these days she or her siblings are barely even in Magnolia, never mind their home.

When Mirajane was banished from the village, and Lisanna and Elfman follow after their sister, especially when others from the village are beginning to expect they too are monsters like Mirajane in their eyes.

They left the village with barely anything on them, with little money, money that was given to them out of pity, or maybe to make sure they leave their village faster.

But even so, upon leaving the village, they no longer had a home, even if they have some money on them, it did not make the fact, the siblings were basically homeless, living on the streets.

And it did not help, when both Elfman and herself have no clue what to do in their situation, especially when the one who made all the choices, were Mirajane, Mirajane who were no different to lifeless shell upon being banished from that village, they once call home.

Being homeless, having their only elder sister so lifeless, and added to that, Mirajane at that moment of time, cannot undo the part transformations done to her body, the very same transformation that Mirajane used to take down that Demon.

With limited knowledge on both Magic and Wizards, Lisanna and the others mistaken Mirajane's abilities, and her transformation as a curse.

That is why, from the rumours and tales Lisanna and her brother often overheard or was told by the others in that remote village.

Lisanna and Elfman recalled about the rumours of Wizards, who according to the rumours they heard, they can do basically anything, maybe even figuring out about the curse that placed on Mirajane, having no clue what this curse truly is.

After all, how can they know, this wasn't a course, but the manifestation of one's own unique Magic, how can anyone of them knew, they possible have Magic Power following in them?

To them, the initial stages of Take Over Magic was no different to a curse, especially when Mirajane has forcedly awakened her Magic Power, not learning how to control the flow of Magic Power within her, causing the transformation to still remain on her.

In the end, after being abandoned by the village, they followed the rumours, in hope to fixed not just the curse, but their elder sister's spirit as well.

Maybe they can find some way to regain her back, some way to give any sort of meaning to Mirajane, that how unstable Mirajane was, when she was abandoned and blamed for everything that day.

And among the rumours and tales that Lisanna and Elfman could remember, there was one place, one Guild that often mention in rumours and tales, and that place was Fail Tail themselves.

That is why, they made their way to Magnolia, to the heart of Fairy Tail, not to become Wizards, but to have a cure for Mirajane's curse, they have mistaken as her Magic Power and her Magic itself.

In the very end, that's how the Stauss siblings joined Fairy Tail, their intentions weren't as Wizards, but to use the little money they had, to hire some Wizard to cure their older sister, only to discover it wasn't a curse, it was Magic.

Magic that proves Mirajane has became a Wizard by forcedly awakening at that. And furthermore, it was discovered that Mirajane wasn't the only one among trio, that has Magic Power.

All three of them, by chances, all the Strauss has Magic Power flowing through them, making them potential Wizards.

It is known that only one of ten people are born with Magic Power, and what the chances for all things, to be siblings who can weld Magic Power.

After all, Magic Power is not bloodline or by genetics, it is simply by fate itself.

When Lisanna knew she can become a Wizard, like Mirajane who already became one, not by choice. She and her brother knew, this was their only shot and chance to survive in this world outside that remote village.

After all, they have nothing, no home, limited money, they needed a way to earn money, a way to find some place to belong to.

From the moment Lisanna knew she can use Magic, it was the moment then the trio knew how they can move on with their life, start anew in this town called Magnolia, in this guild, that did not push them away.

When the trio became Wizards, like everyone else, they lived in a rental house when they started as Wizards of Fairy Tail.

And when the trio earned enough money, the first thing they did, was to buy a house, a house for the three of them to live in, not a rental house, but a proper owned house.

To them, owning a house was the first step they could take, so they can move on from their past, from that village who abandoned them, that is why that house, their new home was important to them.

It became the very symbol of them moving on, proof they no longer villagers who are abandoned, but Wizards in this new life of this.

That is why, least to Lisanna, that house, their new home is that important… however, while this might be the first step towards their new life.

Not everyone among them were willing to take that first step.

While herself and Elfman has in their own ways, somewhat moved on, but not Mirajane, even when she no longer wandered like empty hollow shell, she did not completely return, she became both wary and distance of others.

Mirajane never took the same steps as Lisanna and Elfman, she took on a different step, or maybe she never took a single step since that day.

After all, her scars were deeper compared to Elfman and Lisanna's scars, even if they all lost the same things on that day, but the scars that Mirajane has were deeper then theirs, especially when Mirajane was the only one who had to face the Demon, and the blunt of being blamed and betrayed by the village, who put everything on her.

Ever since the trails became to an end, and Mirajane returned as the newest S-Class Wizard of Fairy Tail, they barely lived in that house, their home at all these days,

The trio are always on some kind of Job, Jobs that always seems to take them away from Magnolia.

It felt like they are on purposely staying away from Magnolia and the guild.

Not to mention, while the trio take on these Jobs, the amount of time they spent on it, is longer than normal, for someone like Mirajane who often referred to get the Job done as quickly as possible, there is no way Lisanna wouldn't noticed that.

No matter how young, or maybe how naïve Lisanna may be. Even she can clearly see as day, the reason why they, no, why Mirajane took on Jobs after Jobs, and purposely do not rush them, is all because one person.

And that person is no other than Zack Smasher himself.

Lisanna than recalled about the person, she used to be so close with.

He looked completely different compared to a year ago, he gotten taller, not as tall as Elfman, who is a giant in the making, but he still the second tallest among their generation.

Not to mention, Zack's muscles seem to be thicker, but that wasn't important, what was… are the small scars she noticed in some places. Those scars are the results of Zack overtraining himself, ripping his muscles, of course the Strauss siblings have no clue about that.

Which is why, seeing those small, almost not noticeable scars, were a shock to Lisanna, but she remains quiet about it. After all, it not the first time she seen those scars, but each time she does, it still wears on her mind.

To be honest, Lisanna and Elfman have barely any clue how Zack is coping these days, even his personality seems less lively, his gentle nature still there… but it also felt hollow, broken at that.

As the one who broken it… is the person that sitting across of her, Lisanna sighed inwardly, as she recalled the very moment when Mirajane and Zack faced each other at the entrance of the Guild.

Their expressions were blank, causing Lisanna, to wonder what could they possible be on their minds, when they just stare at each other.

Mirajane and Zack stared at each other for ten seconds, ten whole seconds… before Mirajane removed her gaze from Zack's eyes.

What was on her mind?

Lisanna wondered what possible could be on Mirajane's mind, to cause her to locked eyes with Zack for ten long seconds.

Was it regret?

Regretting what you done, but soon denied your regrets, telling yourself, you had to do that?

Or maybe it is hatred you claim it to be?

But can anyone who hate the other person, and stared at them for ten seconds, with a blank expression no less?

'Sister, why did you do that!?'

Lisanna's own voice sounded in her mind, as the memory of that day resurfaces.

The memory of when Mirajane thrown Zack out of their house, as she returned from the trails as a different person. Lisanna chased after Mirajane, shouted at her to gained the answers, answers on what the heck just happened.

At first, Mirajane did not answer, she simply just walked away, and remain in silence even if Lisanna wasn't at all quiet behind her.

'Why… why did you do that, sister? What possible could have happened, for you do that to him? That is not like you, sister.'

Lisanna stood in front of Mirajane, who finally halted, and looked towards her.

As the two sisters stared at each other, silence were only the thing that came after Lisanna's words, they just stared at each other for few seconds, usually upon seeing Lisanna being so serious, Mirajane will normally give in.

That what kind of sister Mirajane is, no matter how hard she is on the outside, she is very soft on the inside when it comes to Lisanna and Elfman, as she often give in to their demands.

However, this time was different, even Lisanna can tell, by those eyes that looked at her, hold strong determination, a determination that she will not back down from, even if it was a request from either of her siblings.

'I will not stop either you or Elfman seeing him.'

Mirajane went with an expressionless expression, along with a flat cold tone.

'W-What… you mean by that…?'

'It means, I don't care if you or Elfman sees him… but I do not want to see him again. It is as simple as that.'

'Simple as that…? Simple as that!? Don't say it is as simple as that, when it is not!'

It is not often Lisanna shouted back or at her older sister, and yet, in her memory, Mirajane seems unaffected, or maybe she expected her little sister to say that.

'I promise our parents, Lisanna… that I will protect you two, until the end at that… that is why, I hate him. I hate the one who made me feel this way, I hate the feeling of being weaker, when my emotions became unstable because of him… that is why, I must draw a line. Because I cannot afford anything that makes me weak.'

'How is that any different from running away, sister…?'

'I am not running away, not anymore, I acknowledged I may have feelings for that dumb- that person… but those feelings, those relations are unnecessary to someone like me. That is why the line must be drawn, leave it as that Lisanna.'

'A line… a line you say? You going to regret doing that, sister.'

'I won't.'

From the moment when Mirajane said that, and walked past Lisanna in that memory, the flashback ended, causing Lisanna to returned back to reality, back to the train, to the present.

As the train filled with more people, showing it is almost time for the train to depart from the Magnolia Train Station, Lisanna cannot help to turned towards Mirajane one more time, and asked her this.

"Do you still feel the same way, sister?" Lisanna simply asked in a tone that was only aloud enough for the Elfman and Mirajane could hear.

Of course, Elfman has no clue what Lisanna meant by this and looked at Lisanna with slight confusion.

But Mirajane?

Mirajane remains in her seat, as several moments passes, as Mirajane did not say anything, besides staring at the window besides.

"Yeah, I do… no matter what."

Mirajane went simply went, not knowing… how much she will regret saying that in the days later.

I hoped you enjoy the chapter, especially Lisanna's POV on things became like that.

Anyway, I originally wasn't going to comment at the end of this chapter/fairy.

However, there is some information regarding about bloodlines that I have found out, while researching if bloodlines and Magic Power have any relations at all.

And there is, like I said within the chapter, Magic Power itself is not tied by bloodline or genetics, it is truly by chance if you are born with Magic Power or not.

But that does not mean Magic itself, is not affected by bloodlines or genetics.

There is a reason, why some Wizards can learn better then others when it comes to specific Magic systems compared to others, and this also applies to the reason why such Wizards, who excel in certain Magic Systems, cannot barely or not at all, could learn other specific Magic systems.

This is because bloodlines and genetics does affect one's own affinity with Magic itself.

An example of this will be Lucy and her mother. Within the Heartfilia bloodline, their bloodline has strong affinity for Celestial Spirit Magic, due to this affinity being passed down by their bloodline.

And another example of how affinity is affected by genetics and bloodlines, will be Lost Magic itself.

Among the countless Lost Magic systems, there are some lost in history due to being tied by bloodline alone, making the reason why such Lost Magic that tied by genetics became to end.

My point is, affinity is affected by bloodline, it is how the Dreyer bloodline affinity seems to be related to Light, as Lightning that Makarov's father and his grandson use, that is related to Light, and also why Makarov's son, Ivan, while Ivan does not use either Light or Lightning Magic.

But he does use Illusion Magic, and it is often believed that Illusions themselves, are heavily related to Light itself, just like Lightning as well.

In the end, affinity with Magic Power, is related to one's own bloodline and genetic, but that does not mean you cannot create your own affinity with specific Magic systems that you are not born with.

Gray himself is a perfect an example of this.

He is not born with affinity towards Ice related Magic systems, it is thanks to Ur's training and guidance that Gray could have an affinity with Ice related Magic systems, and also the reason why he often stripped down to his boxers, due to earning that affinity.

And before you say, that is not true, that Gray is born with Ice affinity, since his father, Silver Fullbuster is an Ice Devil Slayer himself.

Here is the thing about Magic systems like Slayer Magic in general. They are not normal Magic systems, because you do not need any kind of affinity to use any of them.

Because they are Magic systems that alters your genetics themselves, forcedly creating the affinities that are needed for those Slayer kind of Magic systems themselves.

Anyway, thanks for reading, especially this nonsense at the ending, of course, I could be wrong, since this bloodline genetic thing, is something I asked Google-Sensei about, seeing if Magic Power is truly related to bloodline or not, but no, it is not, but the affinity is another question.

That all, and once more thanks for reading.
