Alec sat in his study reviewing documents, he was burying himself in work even more to get his mind off Adelia but just when he thought he was free from thoughts of her, he sees her in a golf club even worse talking with Javier, the view of them conversing flashed in his mind, he frowned he couldn't go close to her and had to be getting weekly reports of her whereabouts but that man just walked up to her like it was nothing.
his thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door "come in" he answered, Jayden walked inside with smile on his face "what exactly, caught your fancy Jayden" alec asked "how amusing you have been this past few weeks, I didn't know heartbreak could make you this efficient in working" Jayden said laughing, clenching his teeth Alec looked up from the document "I'm cutting your pay for the next year"
"hey chill, can't you take a joke" Jayden said, wiping the tears coming out of his cause of laughter, "can you see my teeth Jayden, if you came here to make jokes, you should leave before i cut your pay even smaller" Alec retorted frowning, "fine fine I came here to tell you we were successful in breaking the investments, and Tidal tech is at the brink of sinking" Jayden said finally serious "good" Alec answered, looking back at the documents
"also highwire is doing really well for a new tech company" Jayden started "it almost seem like the company isn't new but was just in hiding" Alec paused, the night they announced Adelia's win crossed his mind, he wasn't surprised she was so capable but he always thought she was naive and couldn't stand up for herself, but when he saw her on that stage he realized he knew almost nothing about that girl he furrowed his eyebrows "stop investigating her company Jayden" he instructed, "your wish is my command boss" Jayden said bowing.
I sat in my office reviewing documents I needed to sign, apart from revengeI had to make sure my company was in good condition not that I thought it wasn't in good hands already but I'll be irresponsible leaving all the work for Tony, I also couldn't endure his ceaseless complaining, someone knocked on my door "enter" I said not moving my eye away from the documents "ma'am there's someone here to see you" my PA said, "does the person have an appointment?"
"no ma'am but..."
"turn them back, I'm busy" I cut her off, the last thing I want is uninvited guests and more stress
"okay ma'am" she said closing the door
concentrating back on my work a commotion started just outside my office, touching the bridge of my nose I wander what it is now, dropping the documents in my hand I walked up to see what was going on, walking out of my office I was greeted with a familiar face causing drama in my company arguing with my personal assistant
"what is going on here" I asked, frowning at the commotion, a crowd was building, turning to my employees that wanted to peak at the drama occuring "if you don't return to work, I won't guarantee you'll have a job by tomorrow" and with just that sentence they scrambled back to their desks. facing the person causing the commotion, it was Veronica in as much as I was all about chaos i hated when it started when I'm focused on working
"I'm deeply sorry ma'am I tried telling her that..."
"its quite alright Lily, you can go back to work, I'll see what the lady so desperately wants" I said, sending my dearest PA off, facing Veronica I smiled "what do I owe your chaotic presence this busy afternoon Miss Maqburne" i said, walking to my office door "please come in let us converse" I say opening the door and walking in
she walked in after me, taking a seat behind my desk I gestured for her to sit down, it's obvious to see she was about to explode and was trying not to expose her true nature, but was she trying to hide it I've already seen her true self "so?" I asked crossing my leg "why are you here?".
"don't think to highly of yourself, I've only come to relay a message from my father, he wants to have a meeting with you" she said, looking away from me. I chuckled was it that hard to ask for help, guess now you know how it feels to not be in control "I have instructed my managing director to attend to you, is there a problem with that" I asked, looking concerned. Veronica glared at me "he has asked for you specifically" she said.
staring at her, the silence made her uncomfortable "for someone who is desperate you sound rather entitled" I said, with a smile on my face her ice finally broke "listen here you cunt, don't think so highly of yourself just because you have some value, I don't care if you don't want to see my father I'll drag you there by the hair even if I have to" she said threatenly, I couldn't help but laugh hard, she was so funny, drag me by the hair, she hasn't changed one bit and I was glad it made my revenge even more worthwhile
"I will meet with your daddy Miss Maqburne, have no fear" I said in between laughter "you can leave my office now", getting up she walked out, more like stumped out, I watched her retreating figure, shaking my head "they are so predictable" I whispered. Tony walked in as soon as she stepped out, looking back at her, he turning to me "why does she look like she would stab the next person she sees" he asked
i smiled evilly, shrugging.
