Having left Velka resting in one of the castle rooms, Enrico entered the room given to him. He had already spoken with Elowyn about her brother's future and took advantage of the fact that Alaric was present to mention it to him as well before coming to the room. Now how they would act depended on them; the only thing he saw on their faces before leaving was a thoughtful Elowyn and a disappointed Alaric.
'I also mentioned how they can gather evidence about it, so it's fine.'
[I have to admit I felt sorry when I saw Alaric's face.]
'Feel as much pity as you want while I rest.'
[How cruel… you know, this is the first time I've seen you in this state, and I don't even think it was the hardest fight you've ever had.]
She was right. Even though Enrico showed in front of others that he was fine, he was actually in a state of absolute exhaustion. She didn't quite understand why, but after thinking a bit more, she figured it out.
[It must be mental fatigue.]
'Good job figuring out the obvious.'
That was the first time she truly felt Enrico's emotions; before, it had been more difficult. He never talked about his past, but now she understood why. For someone who had already overcome it and didn't even care anymore, talking about it was a waste of time.
[He's only like this because of the magic that brings back feelings and memories from the past… he really is strong.]
"Thank you."
[You still haven't slept? Damn— I-I'm going to sleep, bye.]
Seeing the system disappear, Enrico tucked his head properly under the blanket. It was simply uncomfortable to have those returning feelings; the good thing was that it would last at most for that day, so tomorrow everything should be fine.
'I have to sleep…'
'Master, would you like me to perform a healing?'
'Yes, Lunaris, I would like that.'
As he closed his eyes and was healed, it took a while for him to fall asleep, at least about thirty minutes. When he was about to drift off, someone knocked on the door, which made him get up in a bad mood.
"Who is it?"
"It's me, young master."
'Is that Angela's voice?'
Getting up, he opened the door and saw that it really was Angela. He was surprised, because she could only enter the castle if she had authorization from the royal family or was summoned like the other mages.
"What are you doing here?"
"Princess Elowyn asked me to come take care of you, since I'm usually the one who does everything in your dormitory."
"Elowyn? Tell me, is she plotting something?"
Letting Angela in, he glanced outside to see if the princess was nearby. He trusted Angela, but Elowyn could be accompanying her. Angela took a chair near the mirror in the room and placed it in front of his bed.
"If she were plotting something, I would kill her, young master."
"Angela, you know that could be considered treason, right?"
"If someone hurt you, I'm sure Miss Virelle would do the same, not caring who it was. Could you lie down, young master?"
Closing the door, he walked to the bed and lay down as if collapsing onto it. He just wanted to rest and get rid of that lingering bad feeling in his chest. It was so irritating that it made him want to tear it out by brute force, but if he did that, he wouldn't stay alive.
"Why do you want me to lie down?"
"Don't you remember that I want to test my new massage on you, my lord?"
"Oh right, that could be good, then you can do the massage."
Since the day he went to the castle in the sky, he hadn't been able to talk properly with Angela. She had been busy, and whenever she was free, he himself wasn't in the dormitory.
"I really needed something to relax."
Angela's eyes seemed to shine at his words. Without a doubt, this was the perfect moment to demonstrate her skills to her new and officially recognized young master, who had been accepted as a disciple this time by the entire D'Rosvalia family without anyone raising a hand against him. Before, there were still some who wanted Victoria, but upon seeing Enrico's potential, they couldn't object.
"Could you take off your shirt and tell me what happened for you to be in this state, young master?"
"It was simply an annoying guy who made my memories return to a bad time."
"Is he still alive?"
She removed her glove while Enrico tossed his shirt aside and lay back down with his back exposed. When Enrico denied that his opponent was alive, she nodded with a smile. If he were alive, she would kill him with her own hands.
"Were those memories from your family or from that future?"
"…we can say it was from both."
That's right—he had almost forgotten that they didn't know about his past as Saul. His mind really was tired. Angela took a bottle of oil she had made herself and spread it over her hands.
"If you want, you can tell me how you felt; I can be very good at listening to others."
"Ha, maybe you practiced a lot with the teacher."
"I'd say that was quite rude, but you're right; she was quite talkative when she was younger."
Enrico felt something cold on his back and immediately let out a sigh of relief when it passed over a painful part of his back. She and Yumeha were without a doubt the best masseuses he had ever seen—well, he thought his own skills were good too, but he had never tried them on himself.
"If she was so talkative, then she was a brat, right? Could you tell me more? I'm quite curious."
Angela's eyes shone as she began talking about her mistress without stopping. Having her mistress's disciple so eager to know would make Virelle happy, even if a little embarrassed by the brat she used to be. Enrico listened attentively with a face showing curiosity, while inside he wore the smile of someone who had manipulated the situation well. No way he was going to talk about his past in the state he was in.
'Hehe, got her.'
After hearing some stories about Virelle, like how she destroyed the family garden just because she lost a game of hide-and-seek, he finally fell asleep. Angela pulled the blanket over him while analyzing the massage she had given.
'It's still not enough. I have to improve more… but how?'
Thinking carefully about how to improve, she looked at the Sanos calendar and saw that the special date for all students was approaching.
'That's right, in two days it will be the graduation… I'd better help him rest in a better way.'
