Ritu left the basement. I leaned on the wall feeling exhausted being tied all day. I kept thinking one thing- where did everything went wrong? Why does it seem like everything is going on the worst side. But other than all of this, how long do I have to wait for help? I don't even know exact where I am. It was fully closed. No ventilation was present too. I started to feel suffocated. My vision was turning blurry and everything turned black. When I woke up, I again saw a familiar figure, familiar face with my blurry vision, she was sitting beside me with a concerned face.
(In my mind) 'Am I safe?'
I again closed my eyes being felt relaxed and went back to sleep.
I woke up again and opened my eyes being all freshed,
'Ah! It's morning, now.' I was shocked for a moment. 'Morning? Wasn't I in that basement?'
The door of my room opens.
'You are awake, Rina.' The voice was familiar and was truly in a concerning tone. It was none other than Parbati!
'Pa-Parbati!'
She ran to me, towards the bed, I was lying on. 'Are you feeling alright, now? Do you still feel any dizziness?'
I was dumbfounded seeing how concerned she was.
'Whe-where am I?'
'You are in my house, now. There are guards outside watching over you, so that you cannot escape. Wait! Eat these, first.'
She made me a whole big bowl of porridge and made some khichuri too.
'Since, you haven't eaten for almost two days properly, I thought these two would be best for your stomach, so I-'
I was soo hungry that before she could finish her sentence, I started to eat. I finished all my porridge. After I felt that relaxed feeling in my stomach, my detective ability starts to work. I was seeing for any loopholes to escape only to see a mask covering one of her eyes. I recognised her only through voice and his hair and partly from one of his eyes which looked bright filled with rage during school days but looks dead now with heavy eye-bags and dark circles underneath it. I felt the urge to ask out of curiosity about what was going on with her that led to such a huge change in her but still I controlled myself.
'I will help you escape, give me time.'
'Okay.' I hesitated, my ears couldn't believe it. 'What! You! I mean you! Don't you hate me?'
'Hate? Well, I never hated you. Well, you can tell these too that I hated you because I was jealous of you for being able to get hold of that trash, when I thought he was a lovey-dovey rich man but he is indeed a bastard. I admired you but my jealousy took that place of admiration and I caused you many troubles as you might know.'
'Huh! What an excuse! Anyways! But..'
'I know what you are going to ask. Yep, it was me who begged Rahul to get you out from there. I went there as ordered to give you food only to see that the food was on the ground with the plate broken into pieces and you were lying on the ground unconscious.'
'I see.'
I asked again with hesitation in my throat, 'Weren't you the so-called fiance of Rahul?'
'Fiance?! Pfft- he treated me like a garbage. I was adopted into a rich family. Felt proud about myself, as I was treated as a princess there. But, soon I got engaged with Rahul. I thought that, now I got a prince like in fairytales. But reality hits me. While I lived in Rahul's house, I was treated like a maid. They used to hit me and even see-' as she opened the mark from her face 'I got a gift from them on my birthday, a huge scar on my face.'
As she opened the mask, I noticed a big red scar around her right eye, probably caused due to burning.
She pressed her lips in rage but continued, 'They spread hot water over me as I was protesting, which caused the scar. I even complained to my adopted parents about what was happening but they ignored it all. I once overheard that they adopted me to get me married with Rahul for getting hands over his company.'
'I can't get this one thing, man! Are they all beggars? Can't they flourish their company on their own? Can't they strategically make deals with others? Why did we now become the pawns for them, for their company fights? Strange Aliens!'
'Huff-' she sighed.
'We are now at an Island, I don't even know the name of it. You were at a basement in haora district two days ago. But, they took both of us forcibly here, even though I resisted.'
'WHAT? WHICH ISLAND? Oh! Lord! Where is this going to? Why does it seem like most of those bl manhwas where some villain comes and kidnaps the MC and takes them as hostage to an Island, in one day?'
'We were taken through helicopter.'
'Wow! What a good information!'
'Stop it, Rina. We have to plan something to escape. There are guards everywhere on this islands.'
