It was a cold and rainy night. He was sitting in his wheelchair on the side of the road, his tears intertwining with the raindrops on his cheeks. "It's cold," he said in a shaky voice.
The rain seemed to get more intense as if it were crying with him.
His clothes were drenched " At least..... I'm not somewhere unwanted" He kept talking to himself as he caressed the wheel of the chair.
He watched his tears falling to his lap as he relived the memory.
The words "useless lazy burden" kept replaying in his memory.
He swallowed, trying to hold back his tears from falling, gripping the wheel of his wheelchair " You're strong.... you can get through this" he said as he focused his eyes on the road ahead, he's breathing heavily.
But something caught his attention...
A truck quickly approaching on the ground the girl was standing.
He looked at the truck then back to the girl " WATCH OUT!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
The girl wore a defeated face standing absent minded in the middle of the road.
Seeing the truck draw closer and closer he quickly gripped the wheels of his wheelchair tight and did his best to make it move.
"Come on!" He forcefully rushed in the girl's direction.
He sped towards her shouting and shouting, to no avail.
He neared the girl. He called one more time. No response. He had to do something.His last resort, he leaped from his wheelchair in a desperate attempt to push the girl away from harm.
As the bright light of the truck got too close.He had one last thought.
" well at least... no one will call me useless after this" he said finally through a pained smile. The last thing that came into his view was the truck's blinding light..
Then everything went dark.
Suddenly he felt warmth. What's this feeling? Wasn't it supposed to be raining?. He thought to himself as he tried to open his eyes.
When He opened his eyes...
Fire! He saw fire everywhere and monsters, left and right, goblins, ogres and various other kinds of monster. Stop. He focused his eyes in front of him.

" I call upon the flames that may lurk underneath my enemies, be aware of your presence as I borrow your strength and banish the foes that stand before me." He powerfully declared. " FLAME ERUPTION!!!" With those words pillars of fire burst from underneath the ground and burned the monsters that were about to charge into the robe draped man.
In immediate succession the woman in robes starts speaking " Life giving breeze to this day, you've been nothing but nurturing. However at this moment I beg of you. Cast away your mercy and show your wrath to those who mean harm hear my call. HURRICANE!!! " Then out of nowhere a group of tornadoes formed carrying the monsters that weren't reached by the man's pillar of flames.
That's amazing. Is it magic?. He thought to himself
Then the woman in robes noticed his stare and rushed in his direction. She kneeled passionately and hugged him before he even knew what had happened. " Everything will be alright Miho we'll keep you safe, alright?" The woman said tearing up with her eyes on him, before standing up, quickly.
He was confused after hearing the woman's words. Who is she? As far as I remember I was about to get hit by a truck. He thought to himself.
And Miho? Is she referring to me?.
The woman in robes then quickly rushed in front of the man in robes as she started chanting, "I am the bearer of breeze,kneel before me, but I am not your ruler, repent but I won't forgive your sins now here I stand to punish the unjust, let the will of the wind bring forth the gust! AIR OF DOMINANCE!!!" The woman screams which resulted into monsters getting pushed back by a strong wind
Then as the man in robes looked at her she shouted " GO!!" She said as she blew away the remnants of the army..
The man in robes hesitantly looks before, approaching miho. Then the man kissed Miho's forehead then caressed his head " We'll follow soon after. Just listen to what Azel says alright?" The man smiled as he looked behind Miho.
Then Miho looked back, seeing a boy, seemingly around his teens, in tattered clothes. I didn't realize it earlier. He's been holding my hand. He thought to himself.
Then suddenly the man shouts "Now go!! " he roared , it was final.
"All consuming flames-" the man in robes uttered. It seemed he was chanting again but before Miho could finish hearing the phrase Azel pulls him away.
Miho couldn't help but glance back as he watched those two people fight with all their might. Just for him.
Later as Miho and Azel run together Miho watched how the surroundings were barren, the only flora to be seen were trees with flames that just didn't seem to burn out.
They keep on their way but something blocks their path. A goblin stands before Azel's track azel then starts forming a what it seems like a finger gun then he starts speaking a set of words " Water Ray" He said calmly finger directed at the goblin.
a thread of water comes out of azel's fingertips it went so fast and penetrated the monster's head.
Woah. Miho thought to himself as he watched the monster fall.
As they ran more goblins a various of creatures appeared, fortunately none of them appeared in groups as azel disposes of them easily with the same spell
After the long run, they found a house with windows destroyed, and wrecked walls Still better condition than the houses two of them passed by, after the long journey. They ran into it. A roof was better shelter than nothing.
" I think this is the place" Azel said as he scanned the house and opened the door.
Azel then guided Miho through the halls. Azel looked at Miho and scanned him feeling for wounds "Does it hurt anywhere? The monsters didn't hit you while I wasn't looking, Right? "
Miho smiles at this stranger's gesture.
Then Miho nods " Yes I'm fine, how about you? Are you hurt?" Miho asked as he looks at Azel
Azel shook his head and smiled "That's a relief I'm glad you're alright."
Azel looked through the broken window
Miho tried to look at the window as well but quickly realized that he couldn't reach it.
I didn't realize earlier with all the urgency. Miho thought to himself.
As suspected I'm in a child's body. Miho thought to himself as he scans his own body
Growls could be heard close by, but they didn't seem to sound so aggressive. They hadn't seemed to notice them yet.
Azel looked at Miho " We'll stay the night here" . He smiles as he caresses Miho's head.
Stay in here? But there are holes everywhere. How can we be sure it's safe?. Miho thought to himself.
Miho wore a concerned face as he looked at Azel and pointed at the large hole in the wall.
Azel shook his head as he kept caressing Miho's head "It's alright. I'll watch over you. Don't worry I'll protect you no matter what"
Miho lets out a skeptical smile. I guess there's nothing I can do but trust him. He thought
Then Azel looked at Miho as he then pinched his cheek. " Besides your mom said we should wait here. That is if they…" Azel's words trailed off as he shook his head
While Azel was speaking Miho got occupied by his own thoughts. Mom? Does he mean that woman earlier? Why am I here? How can I go back?
Then miho let out a sigh
Do I... really want to go back..... ?. He thought to himself.
Azel seeing Miho sigh made him concerned. He made a pained smile before hugging Miho " Don't worry your parents are strong, they can make it" he caressed the back of Miho's head as if to comfort him.
"I-" Miho didn't continue his sentence as he just rested in Azel's embrace
I guess I'll be in this world for the time being.
