In the dusk, Nokes Primary School appeared dark red under the sunset, emanating a sinister aura that wasn't present during the day.
Amber was already somewhat reluctant about Nokes Primary School. Seeing this, she was even more inclined to back out.
"Grace, it's getting dark. I promised Sean I'd be home before nightfall."
The driver, Mark, also chimed in:
"Grace, if you left something in the classroom, I can bring you back tomorrow."
