As the last note fell, their performance came to a halt.
"It feels like we've grown quite rusty," Tang Xin said. "Made quite a few mistakes in the scales."
Xu Xiaoyou lowered her gaze, eyes lingering on the black and white keys.
"You're right, why am I only thinking to come and apologize to you now?"
"If only it had been a bit earlier,"
"How much earlier?" Tang Xin asked, "Before I got on stage to apologize, or when I was reading those comments in my room?"
Xu Xiaoyou said nothing, a white glove gently covered her hand as she turned her head away. Tang Xin was looking at her earnestly, with the same complicated apologetic look in her eyes.
Tang Xin fell into the quagmire of inner struggle, the voice in her heart rose to her throat multiple times, she couldn't bear to verbalize the choice she made to the girl beside her. After a psychological battle, she took a deep breath, finally summoning the courage.
"I am still me..."
