"Why can't we just let the Kingdom be destroyed?"
A faint voice drifted over. The children looked toward the last seat at the dining table, where a little girl with an exquisitely cut hime haircut sat. She wore a collar, and the red spikes on it pierced through her neck; the grotesque style clashed starkly with her beautiful doll-like dress.
"If everything's destroyed, people won't have to suffer anymore. Everyone will be able to fall into peaceful sleep."
"Tifa..." a sullen boy reminded her in a low voice.
The other children kept silent. Tifa was Father's favorite child. He had always been patient with her, always able to tolerate her willfulness.
"Father, Tifa is still young. I'll see to her discipline."
"That's good, Ruins."
Father's words cut off the sullen boy's anxious tone; he lowered his head without another sound.
"Curiosity is every child's nature, and also the most fragile thing. You've protected your sister very well."
