The closer they got to the Taishan Ruins, the more bumpy and rugged the road became. Occasionally, they encountered uphill sections where they had to floor the gas pedal to climb or send someone out to push from behind.
Moreover, according to the predetermined route, they would have to bypass the Taishan Shelter, which formed Fallen Wolf Valley, taking a large detour to reach Feicheng Shelter on the western side of the mountain range.
This added over ten kilometers to the journey.
