Ignoring the growing sensation from his rear, Damien scrambled to stand up in a hurry.

Forcing his way through the middle.
Nearly taking a minute to weave through.
Damien passed through the congested crowd, panting heavily and sweating as he arrived at Valen's judgment.
Looking at Damien's anxious face, Valen asked in a deep voice.
"What exactly happened?"
Damien, gasping for breath, spoke intermittently.
"Guard Captain! Outside the town... a heavy cavalry regiment passed by!"
"Numbers... at least over two thousand!"
