"Annie, what's wrong?"
Cynthia asked concernedly.
Annie's complexion was as pale as paper, her eyes filled with exhaustion and pain.
She spoke with difficulty: "I... I forcibly used the Power of Earth Veins to fill the gap in the Faith Base Station, but my Divine Body has been severely damaged because of it... the fracture rate has reached 40%..."
Cynthia and David were shocked and saddened by what they heard.
They knew what a 40% fracture of the Divine Body meant—Annie's Fire of Life was already precarious, on the verge of extinction at any moment.
"Annie, why did you do this?"
David asked with a trembling voice.
Annie managed to squeeze out a faint smile and said: "I... I can't just watch you sacrifice yourselves for me... I must do my part..."
Cynthia and David looked at Annie's weakened state, their hearts filled with emotion and guilt.
They knew that all their previous efforts had been to protect Annie, but now, Annie had paid such a huge price for them.
