Chapter 28 - Chapter 26: Sea Successor White Whale?

Rose manipulated the golem to return to Hilia's dormitory, using her student card to open the door and enter. He headed to the kitchen and placed the soil he brought onto a piece of metal scrap.

He rummaged around for a moment but couldn't find what he was looking for.

"There's only scrap from golem-making here, oh well, I'll make it myself."

Rose shook his head, manipulating the golem to pick up a pile of scrap and began repurposing it for use.

After a long while, a magic apparatus resembling a trophy appeared on the kitchen counter.

He poured the soil into the trophy and infused it with magic power.

This trophy was engraved with complex magic sigils, designed to reverse-analyze items related to the abyss, a reward Rose had obtained after repelling the abyss. Its purpose was to conduct reverse research on things from the abyss.

Now, he used it to reverse-investigate the abyssal fluctuations contained within this soil, identifying what type of abyssal demon it belonged to with the survey magic array.

"Aside from large-scale invasions, every species has corresponding survey magic arrays and summoning ceremonies for other methods of summoning from the abyss. I want to see what kind of monster this Deep Sea Mutual Aid Association plans to summon."

With continued magic power input, the trophy emitted a faint glow.

On the other side, Hilia, who was attending a lecture, began looking visibly pale.

"Mr. Rose, what are you doing? Why is my magic power depleting so quickly?"

She couldn't help but question Rose.

Golems and their manipulators are connected; most golems don't absorb magic power themselves but rely on the arcane furnace to store the manipulator's magic power for future use in battles.

Regular use of golems doesn't consume much magic power. If the arcane furnace is of good quality, it can even achieve charging magic for five minutes and operating for two hours.

The arcane furnace on Hilia's golem was quite basic, requiring constant replenishment of magic power, with low storage capacity.

When stored magic power runs out, the golem absorbs the manipulator's magic power to act and cast spells.

Generally speaking, mages decide how much magic power to input into their golems.

Mages can completely interrupt magic power output.

But in Rose's case, Hilia couldn't interrupt it at all; it was as if there was an open tap, and her magic power flowed out uncontrollably.

"Just a minor issue, nothing serious." Rose responded calmly.

Hilia's face was pale as she endured her magic power pouring out, like facing a dam failure, powerless to stop it.

Fortunately, Rose didn't completely drain her magic power, leaving a bit so she wouldn't faint.

Yet her condition wasn't great.

Thankfully, by the time Rose stopped, class was already over.

After enduring the session until the professor left, Hilia slumped over the desk, gasping for breath.

It's over.

"Hilia, are you okay?"

The voice of Anarce came from the side; Hilia managed a weak smile.

"I'm fine, just a bit tired."

"Are you sick? Let me give you a lift to the hospital!" A voice chimed in, somewhat inappropriately.

Hilia looked up to see Miller hobbling over, wrapped in bandages.

He looked quite comical, with one hand bandaged and using his magic staff as a crutch.

His face was battered, yet still feigned concern.

Hilia remained silent.

"Miller Deville, thank you for your concern, but I think you should go to the hospital yourself."

"Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine. To return to school and see you, I endured body-wide agony, and upon seeing you, all my pain turned into sweetness... ahh!"

As he was about to deliver an impassioned speech, a passing classmate accidentally bumped into his outstretched hand, instantly triggering the wound and interrupting his words with a scream.

The classmate hastily tried to steady Miller, "Miller, are you okay? I'm sorry."

But the support immediately aggravated Miller's injuries, causing him more pain.

"Ah! Ahh! Don't touch me!"

Miller grimaced in pain, taking a moment to recover, he planned to tell Hilia about the pain but found the seat already empty.

Hilia had long gone.

Miller furiously slammed his magic staff.

"Damn it, even in this state, she shows no concern. No way, I need to ask Nosen again."

...

In the dormitory.

As the magic power stopped flowing, the glow from the trophy gradually faded. The contaminated soil within the trophy had disappeared, leaving only a tiny black object.

Rose picked up the small item and crushed it, a trace of black light flowing into the golem's body.

Moments later, the black light was expelled from the golem's body, and Rose understood everything.

"Turns out it's a Sea Heir White Whale residing in the Abyssal Sea."

He recalled data about this Sea Heir White Whale.

It's a massive creature living in the Abyssal Sea, capable of devouring spiritual power. More than a thousand years ago, before the abyssal invasion, it appeared as the final boss in a major event chain.

This white whale can be directly challenged or weakened through tasks; it can be reduced to the level of a baby bus.

"I recall the whale's fins being quite delicious..."

He hadn't tried it yet, but his memory suggested that the whale's fins were delicious and very nourishing.

If conditions permit, letting Hilia feast on a Sea Heir White Whale could certainly accelerate her growth.

After pondering for a moment, Rose had made up his mind.

In the evening, when Hilia returned after dinner, she was curious upon seeing the trophy in the kitchen, "Is this the magic device that drained my magic today?"

"Hmm, a magic apparatus capable of tracing specific items, but due to material constraints, it's one-time-use and is now useless."

Rose casually tossed it in the trash bin.

The trophy, seemingly indestructible, instantly crumbled into powder upon falling in.

Originally wanting to stop Rose from discarding it, Hilia stopped herself.

"May I ask what this magic apparatus was used for?"

Hilia asked cautiously.

She was somewhat afraid, fearing Rose might accuse her of speaking out of turn, but she was eager to know what Rose had done, even if he might deceive her.

If nothing else, at least she'd find out if he had done anything wrong.

But... even if Lord Evil God were to do wrong, what could you do, Hilia?

The girl pondered.

"To trace what abyssal demon the Deep Sea Mutual Aid Association plans to summon."

"What are they summoning?"

"The Sea Heir White Whale," Rose said nonchalantly, "A gigantic creature existing in the Abyssal Sea, about the size of your dormitory building when grown. Its strength is at least Tier Four, at most Tier Six, hmm, its fins are quite tasty."

"What? The Deep Sea Mutual Aid Association plans to summon such a frightening creature to our school?" Hilia was shocked.

"Not quite, your school isn't suitable for summoning."

Rose said, suddenly looking at Hilia, "Would you like to try the Sea Heir White Whale's fins?"

Hilia pointed to herself.

"Me?"
