Lumiose City… wasn't that the very first place Ash visited when he entered the Kalos region?
Lin Feng immediately made the connection.
Thinking about it, the Kalos region really was fascinating. It was the first time Pokémon reached a whole new level of evolution, unlocking Mega Evolution and all the transformations that came with it.
Of course, Greninja's Bond Phenomenon had left an even deeper impression.
Though… the final outcome of that story had been a bit disappointing.
Should he really travel all the way to Lumiose City just to look for a Metagross?
Lin Feng hesitated.
The distance was the main issue. Even if he could travel through the Reverse World, making a special trip just to find one Metagross felt like more trouble than it was worth.
If possible, he would rather raise a Beldum from scratch.
His phone screen stayed quiet, the last message still sitting there.
Tang Ninghong: I'm quite interested in your Gardevoir. If you have time, how about a match?
Lin Feng simply replied: "Sure."
He did not take it too seriously. After all, Elite-level trainers rarely battled casually.
"If only the heavens would just drop a Pokémon in my lap to help me out…"
He let out a quiet sigh.
He could not help but think of Mewtwo. If it were still here, things would be so much easier. That thought led him to wonder where it had gone.
"Rotom…"
The moment he said that, Rotom quietly drifted farther away.
Like the Indeedee siblings, Rotom understood the current situation very well. The household was short on help.
Even Eldegoss had started spending more time in the kitchen lately.
Just as he was lost in thought, a cheerful voice broke the silence.
"Indeedee, Indeedee~"
Lin Feng looked up, slightly stunned.
It was not just Indeedee. Gardevoir was there as well.
But that was not the surprising part.
Standing beside Gardevoir was a red-haired girl.
Lin Feng blurted out instinctively, "Kanata?"
But almost immediately, he realized his mistake.
This was not Kanata.
This was Latias from Alto Mare.
"Gardevoir…"
"She says she came to find you. She said your food is delicious," Gardevoir explained gently.
Still, something about this felt strange.
From Gardevoir's perception, this being should have been among the earliest Pokémon connected to Lin Feng's world. She looked human, but the psychic energy within her was unmistakable.
Not to mention, Gardevoir had already sensed the fluctuations of high-speed flight when she entered the town earlier.
In other words, just like Mewtwo, this was a Pokémon capable of taking human form.
But… when had Lin Feng met someone like this?
"Yeah, yeah," Lin Feng replied, then looked at Latias in her human disguise and laughed. "I thought you'd wait until the weather got warmer before coming."
Thinking about it, Latias's brother had told her to come in spring. That had not been an excuse after all.
"Wu?"
Latias tilted her head, still silent.
"Is Mew still with you?" Lin Feng asked.
This time, her expression changed.
That little cat-like Pokémon…
At first, it had annoyed her. But later, it would occasionally bring her delicious food to share. It had even shared with her brother.
But this time, before leaving, it seemed to receive some kind of call. It said goodbye and disappeared.
And just like that, her source of food was gone.
Fortunately, before leaving, Mew had told her about this place.
So she came.
And this time, her brother did not stop her.
"Wu… wu…"
"You still can't speak?" Lin Feng asked.
From her sounds, he could roughly understand her meaning.
"So Mew left?" he asked, surprised.
Latias nodded.
"Did it say where it was going?"
She shook her head.
Lin Feng nodded. "Alright then. Come on, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
He turned and started walking toward the house.
Gardevoir and Indeedee followed beside him.
The moment Latias heard this, her expression brightened instantly. She even licked her lips in anticipation.
That little cat had been right.
If you came here, there would be delicious food.
What a good human.
She bounced along behind him, glancing curiously at the vegetables in the garden, then at the vast berry fields. The sheer number of berries left her stunned.
"What do you like to eat?" Lin Feng asked again.
Mew had always brought random food, mostly Pokéblocks along with things like honey fruit wine and catnip balls. It had never been picky.
"Wu?"
Latias tilted her head again.
Lin Feng sighed. "Forget it. You should just change back to your original form."
"Wu…"
Though confused, Latias returned to her true form, floating gently in the air.
"Much better," Lin Feng said with a satisfied nod.
A small red jet should look like a small red jet. Watching a silent human form stare at him felt too strange.
"I'll make you some honey fruit wine. You should like it. The big guys love it."
"Wu~"
Latias nodded eagerly in midair.
She had tasted that wine before, thanks to Mew. It really was good.
"I'll make a few other dishes too. We'll see what you like."
Even though it was not mealtime, she was a guest from afar. Proper hospitality was only right.
"Wu wu…"
She floated behind him, nodding repeatedly, already imagining the feast to come.
"In that case… since I'm already making fruit wine, I might as well make some carrot dumplings. Though… barbecue would go better with it, wouldn't it?"
Standing in the kitchen, Lin Feng thought aloud as he prepared the ingredients.
Most Pokémon, as long as they were not herbivores, tended to enjoy meat.
"Alright then. Barbecue it is. Mew probably never brought her anything like that."
He felt confident in his plan.
Alongside grilled steaks, he prepared dried fruits and small side dishes, and also started a pot of soup.
With his telekinetic ability, he could now handle multiple tasks at once.
Knives, spoons, seasonings, and cooking tools floated through the air, moving in perfect coordination.
Meat sliced itself.
Radish slices went into the steamer.
A large pot filled with honey fruit wine bubbled as berries and fruit pulp were added.
Dumplings lined the steamer trays.
In no time, a rich aroma filled the entire kitchen.
Naturally, that smell did not go unnoticed.
Blaziken stood guard at the doorway, watching the "birthplace" of food with unwavering focus.
Nearby, mini versions of Dragonite, Salamence, and Goodra had gathered.
After shrinking them down, they no longer crowded the kitchen, which had been Lin Feng's idea. As long as they were not battling or traveling, their smaller forms were far more manageable.
Salamence, especially, looked almost comical. Smaller than even Steenee now, yet still wearing an expression that screamed: "I'm fierce."
They had clearly been drawn by the scent of the boiling wine.
"Alright, alright, out you go. Wait in the living room. No entering the kitchen!"
Lin Feng waved them away.
The moment he spoke, the group scattered instantly. But their steps were noticeably lighter as they left.
He let out a breath of relief and returned to cooking.
Not long after, another figure appeared at the doorway.
Latias.
She had transformed back into her human form again.
"Wu?"
She peeked in curiously, drawn by the intoxicating aroma.
Her eyes lit up the moment she saw the bubbling honey fruit wine.
She drifted closer without hesitation.
"Just a few more minutes. Be patient," Lin Feng said.
As the wine boiled, the alcohol gradually evaporated. The longer it simmered, the lower the alcohol content became.
Lin Feng usually processed the batches in stages.
Earlier batches were stronger and reserved for Pokémon with higher tolerance.
Later batches were milder.
The final result was a refined dish.
A+ Grade Dish: Honey Fruit Wine
Brewed from multiple berries. After long simmering, most alcohol has evaporated, leaving behind a smooth, rich flavor with a refreshing fruity aroma.
Effect 1: Refreshing
Effect 2: Improves resistance to sleep-related status conditions over time
It enhanced alertness.
With long-term consumption, Pokémon could better resist moves like Hypnosis or Dark Void.
And importantly, it would not make them drunk.
Lin Feng felt it was especially suitable for Serperior.
A few minutes later, he poured drinks for everyone, plated the soup, dumplings, and steaks, and turned to Latias.
"Alright, let's go."
"Wu~!"
She had been pacing back and forth during the wait, barely able to contain herself.
That was exactly why Lin Feng had kept the others out of the kitchen.
But since it was her first visit, he let it slide.
"Wu wu… so fragrant…"
Following him to the living room, her excitement was obvious. If she had been in her true form, her tail would probably have been wagging nonstop.
In the living room, several Pokémon were already waiting.
Blaziken had even been doing push-ups earlier, preparing to eat more later. It had not gone outside to train, worried that the food might disappear if it left.
Lin Feng twitched at the sight.
"You all just ate…"
No one moved.
With no other choice, he set the food down one by one.
Then he picked up a cup of the final batch of honey fruit wine and walked over to Serperior, who was curled up on the sofa.
"Here. This one's yours."
Serperior opened its eyes lazily, then slithered over to the glass.
Lin Feng did not linger.
After distributing the food, he walked over to Latias.
"Go ahead, try it. See what you like."
She had been staring at the food without touching it.
A bit hesitant.
The moment he spoke, she moved.
"Wu~"
She picked up the fruit wine and drank it in one go.
Then came the dumplings and steak.
After struggling briefly with the chopsticks, she gave up and used her hands instead.
Lin Feng could not help but sigh.
It felt like watching a toddler eat without utensils.
Except this "toddler" looked like a teenage girl.
It was… a little awkward.
But honestly, if she were in her Pokémon form, it would have felt completely normal.
Several of his Pokémon ate like that anyway.
He did not try to correct her.
Instead, as he watched her happily eat, a sudden thought crossed his mind.
