Somewhere in the void of the universe, a seven-colored light flickered in the endless, silent darkness. At its source hovered a colossal sphere of prismatic radiance. Inside, a thin mist drifted through a space filled with countless strands of divine power.

At the heart of the sphere stood a divine hall—bleak, bloodstained, and deathly silent. The deeper one went, the denser the killing intent became. There, a throne of blood and bone towered hundreds of meters high. Upon this great Asura throne reclined a man clad in divine armor etched with blood-red demonic patterns. His entire body was wrapped in those sinister markings, and the very air around him was so thick with killing intent that it had solidified into a tangible force.

Suddenly, the resting Asura God King opened his blood-red eyes, his brows furrowing sharply. A surge of blood-hued divine power instantly swept across Douluo Star. Moments later, his frown relaxed.

He muttered to himself, "How could this be? Is this generation's child of destiny really so disappointing?!"

He could no longer stand another day of the dull, endless labor in the Divine Realm. He had placed his hopes on his carefully selected previous successor, believing that person would inherit his position so he could finally escape. But at the very last step, the successor was corrupted by the evil will of the Rakshasa God, causing the Asura God's plan to fail completely.

He had assumed it would be a very long time before a new successor appeared. Yet one day, as he passed the Sea God Palace, he sensed the Sea God using divine power on Douluo Star—the very planet where his former successor had lived. His interest was immediately piqued. Under his coercion, the Sea God finally revealed his plan: a new child of destiny had emerged, and the Sea God had secretly marked him as his own inheritor.

When the Sea God confessed this, his face was brimming with satisfaction. After all, even a God King must obey the laws of the Divine Realm: once a mortal is chosen by a god as their successor, no other god may compete for them.

But who was the Asura God? One of the Five Great God Kings.

He immediately returned to his divine hall and used his Asura power to resurrect a soul he found particularly interesting. He then attached that soul to the child of destiny's body. Infused with the seed of Asura divine power, the new soul instantly erased the original.

Afterward, the Asura God couldn't help but feel it was all too coincidental. The child of destiny on Douluo Star happened to be a descendant of his previously chosen successor. This made him value the boy even more. Now, the Asura God eagerly awaited the day the child of destiny would inherit his godhood so he could finally make his escape.

His desire to flee was not merely due to the monotony of eternal labor; it was also tied to his conflicts with the God of Destruction. The God of Destruction was now obsessed with expanding the Divine Realm to withstand the unknown temporal storms ravaging the cosmos. However, with inheritors about to ascend, if war erupted now, the transfer of god positions would be impossible. They would be forced to wage endless divine war to annex other worlds. That was not what the Asura God wanted. Who knew how much longer he would be stuck if conflict broke out?

Besides, even if the Divine Realm expanded, could it truly resist the temporal storms? The last one had destroyed eight layers of the god domains, and each storm was more terrifying than the last. If the realm failed, he would die without a trace, never again to see the person he longed to find. He was not like the God of Destruction or the God of Life—beings born and bound to the Divine Realm. Most importantly, the person he loved was not here. He had long wanted to relinquish his godhood and descend to the lower realms to seek his lover's reincarnation, but the affairs of the Divine Realm had chained him in place, leaving him isolated for countless lonely years.

He had truly had enough.

Even if expansion could withstand the storms, there was a massive hidden danger. The Asura God feared that an expanded Divine Realm—and the God of Destruction himself—might spiral out of control. Once the realm grew to a certain point, it would inevitably advance toward becoming a God Star. If that drew the attention of the cosmic consciousness, the fragile realm would never withstand the destructive schemes that would follow. The last Supreme God King who had tried it was his former superior, the Dragon God, and he had died without a burial place. The Dragon God's end was tragic, and even the now-mightier Asura God still felt a chill remembering how that great power had been slain by the will of the cosmos.

As the Asura God pondered this, a cruel, dark figure appeared in his hall. He wore a sweeping purple cloak that seemed to swirl with an abyssal terror.

"Asura, what have you done?!" the God of Destruction demanded.

"What could I have done? I am always monitoring the lower realms," the Asura God replied, his tone indifferent.

"Hmph, don't treat me like a fool! I could sense the fluctuations of Asura divine power from across half the Divine Realm."

"As the God of Law, you had better know what you may and may not do. If I catch you making a misstep, you will be unfit to control the Divine Core!" the God of Destruction warned.

The Asura God waved dismissively. "This doesn't concern you. Enjoy the peace of the Divine Realm while it lasts."

"I will be watching you!" The God of Destruction vanished in an instant.

The Asura God pressed a hand to his forehead, groaning internally. "Damn it! Kid, this is as far as I can help. You're on your own now."

He then thought, "Where's that Sea God? Sneaking off to the Angel God's temple again? What a pathetic bootlicker. The Angel God left long ago, yet he still lingers there like a stray mutt. When he gets back, I'll tell him to keep an eye on the child of destiny."

Shi Nian stared with malicious delight at the twitching, convulsing Tang San. He didn't know what nightmare Tang San was trapped in, but it was surely the most agonizing of his life.

"If only I could watch his nightmares directly… just seeing him twist in pain isn't nearly satisfying enough," Shi Nian muttered regretfully.

Before long, Tang San's spasms stopped. Sensing his heart had ceased beating, Shi Nian cast a final, disappointed look at the body—blood seeping from its seven orifices, lips flecked with foam—and turned to leave.

Just as he turned—

Thump!

A heartbeat?!

A bead of cold sweat formed on Shi Nian's brow. He spun around, only for a black shadow to slam into his chest. Gritting his teeth against the pain, Shi Nian looked toward Tang San. The boy's eyes were blood-red, his body wrapped in a crimson soul light as waves of killing intent surged toward him.

Seeing Tang San rise from the dead, Shi Nian roared, "Even if you've become a vengeful ghost, I'll send you back to hell!"

"Hehehe… if King Yama decrees you die at the third watch, who dares keep you till the fifth?" Tang San sneered.

"What are you talking about?!" Shi Nian retorted, but in that instant, he lost all control of his body, freezing in place.

Tang San gazed excitedly at the immobilized Soul Sage and was about to advance to vent his rage when he suddenly sensed a terrifying aura.

A Titled Douluo?!

Forcing down his surge of relief, terror, and elation, Tang San immediately sprinted toward Shrek Academy.

Only after Tang San had fled did the Silver Wolf emerge from the shadows. Where Shi Nian had stood was now just a pool of black blood. The Silver Wolf frowned deeply. Was this Tang San's doing?

Xiao Lan had instructed him to watch Shi Nian to prevent an ambush on Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. Instead, he had witnessed Shi Nian ambush Tang San. What shocked him even more was that a mere Soul Sect had seemingly used a hidden weapon to kill a Soul Saint.

And what had just happened to Tang San? Could someone truly revive after death? If Xiao Lan hadn't ordered him not to interfere, he would have captured the boy for interrogation. But an order was an order.

Suddenly, a seven-colored light flickered within the black blood.

"Oh?" The Silver Wolf picked up the glimmering object—it was a ten-thousand-year head soul bone.

Xiao Lan's luck is unbelievable! he thought. Trailing a mere Soul Saint yields such a prize?!

Having escaped to Shrek Academy, Tang San finally calmed himself. Though the voice in his head filled him with joy, the images of Xiao Wu being violated drowned out all happiness.

"Xiao Wu!!" he howled in anguish, his fingers clawing at his own skin as if to tear away the horrific memories.

After a long time, covered in blood, he barely managed to suppress the nightmare that had tormented him. Forcing the memories down, he finally focused on the voice in his consciousness.

"Begin the Asura God Trials. First Trial: Obtain the Killing Domain."

"The Asura God Trials?" he wondered. "If I complete them, can I become a god? What is the Killing Domain? How do I get it? Wasn't I dead? Why did I resurrect? Is it because of these trials? Is the legend of becoming a god at level one hundred real? Why was I chosen?"

Countless questions flooded his mind, but with the Asura God being watched by the God of Destruction, no answers came. The uncertainty was maddening. There was only one thing he knew for sure: he had hit the jackpot.

A cruel laugh escaped him. "Ye Lan… Ye Lan. I am destined to become the Asura God. What do you have to fight me with?! Those who touched Xiao Wu—all of them must die! Those who humiliated me—all of them must die! Every last one of them must die!"

Ye Lan was chatting with the Heaven Dou team when a tall figure in silver armor appeared.

"Uncle Wolf, hello!" Ning Rongrong shouted excitedly.

"Greetings, Lord Star Crown!" the others chorused.

"Uncle Wolf, is something wrong?" Ye Lan asked.

The Silver Wolf nodded to the group, then said apologetically, "I need to borrow Ye Lan for a moment. We'll see you shortly."

Xiao Xue gave Ye Lan a reluctant look. "Be careful. Come back quickly!"

"It's fine. Uncle Wolf is a true Titled Douluo now," Ye Lan grinned.

The Silver Wolf clasped Ye Lan's shoulder, and they vanished in a flash of silvery starlight.

"Lord Star Crown is amazing!" Yu Tianheng said, his eyes shining.

"Yeah, that instant teleportation is way too cool!" Oslo added excitedly.

Dugu Yan frowned. "Did something happen? It's the first time I've seen Uncle Wolf actively seek out Ye Lan."

Everyone else shook their heads. Xiao Xue, however, guessed silently, Could it be that woman calling for him again? No, impossible. The Pope never mentioned summoning him after their last meeting. If she wanted to, she would've acted when he hit level thirty. She shook her head, tossing the thought away.

The Silver Wolf brought Ye Lan to a secluded forest. "Ye Lan, you asked me to watch Shi Nian. He made a move—but his target was Tang San of Shrek Academy."

Ye Lan's interest was piqued. In this lifetime, Tang San hadn't absorbed the Autumn Dew herb, making it impossible for him to break a Soul Saint's illusions. His Purple Demon Eye relied on spiritual power, unlike Ye Lan's own Golden Pupils, which used true sight to shatter all falsehood. He was very curious what had happened.

"Shi Nian followed Tang San," the Silver Wolf explained. "When Tang San reached a deserted area, he began convulsing in extreme pain. Half an hour later, his aura vanished completely."

"He died?!" Ye Lan exclaimed.

"He died, but also didn't," the Silver Wolf said gravely.

"What do you mean?"

"Seconds after he died, his body was wrapped in a blood-red glow. In that moment, I felt an endless killing intent. Afterward, Tang San used some kind of hidden weapon to assassinate Shi Nian."

"Alright, I understand. Uncle Wolf, from now on, if you encounter Tang San, do not engage him."

The Silver Wolf nodded. He didn't understand Ye Lan's reasoning, but he trusted him completely. The request was simple: treat Tang San as if he didn't exist.

"Killing intent? A red glow?" Ye Lan muttered. "The Asura God?" It had to be either the Asura God or the Sea God, but the Sea God's power was gold or blue. This meant Tang San had drawn the Asura God's attention now, or perhaps much earlier.

Learning this, Ye Lan was glad he hadn't used external forces to eliminate Tang Hao and his son. Who knew what absurd consequences might have followed? The Asura God intervening with his divine sense? Or descending personally?

Fortunately, none of that happened. And the fatter Tang San grew as a crop of leeks, the better. Ye Lan had even considered feeding Tang San opportunities to help him grow, but with the Asura God's help, he no longer had to worry about him fading into mediocrity.

Only by growing stronger would Tang San have value when it was time for the harvest.

Only then would Tang Hao suffer more.

Ye Lan closed his eyes, activating his Eight-Faceted Perceptive Mind. His Seven-Orifice Perceptive Heart fully analyzed the situation. When he opened his eyes again, a seven-colored radiance flashed across his pupils.
