Chapter 243 - Chapter 241: The Law of Creation

Chapter 241: The Law of Creation

Buzz!

Li Xun's spiritual sense surged forth like a tide, plunging into the golden Emperor's blood before him.

The instant his spiritual sense touched the Emperor's blood, the surroundings shifted abruptly.

This wasn't the first time he had encountered such a thing, so Li Xun quickly calmed himself. He turned his head and surveyed the scene. Around him were rolling green mountains, verdant and lush.

He seemed to be standing within a valley.

Spiritual energy swirled throughout the air. A clear stream trickled along the rocks. A jade-like stone stairway extended into the depths of the valley, carrying with it a transcendent, otherworldly charm.

"This Emperor is rather interesting," Li Xun murmured softly.

The last time, the black-colored Emperor's blood had revealed to him a fragment of the Emperor's past, which was a scene of extreme carnage with corpses scattered everywhere and the heavens dyed black and blood-red, as though those two colors had swallowed all others.

But this time, what this Emperor revealed to him was utterly different.

A scene untouched by smoke or fire, an aura of seclusion and transcendence, like that of a hidden sage, untainted by worldly dust.

Following the stone stairway underfoot, Li Xun walked deeper into the valley.

The setting was simple.

A peach tree.

A thatched hut.

A stone table.

The breeze blew gently.

Peach branches swayed, filling the valley with a faint fragrance.

"This peach tree… it can't be ordinary…" Li Xun thought inwardly. An Emperor residing here would hardly bother with planting an ordinary peach tree.

Perhaps, beneath its ordinary appearance, this peach tree was in fact an immortal herb!

Pa-tap!

A crisp sound rang out.

Li Xun's heart tightened instantly.

He frowned and looked toward the stone table—and his pupils contracted sharply.

There, beside the stone table, sat a tall, heroic-looking man clad in green robes. His hair was loose, his features ancient and unadorned. He seemed as if he had just appeared… yet at the same time, as though he had always been sitting there.

He blended seamlessly with heaven and earth, sitting casually, easily overlooked.

Pa-tap!

Another crisp sound.

The man in green placed a white stone onto the go board. He seemed absorbed in an eternal, unfinished game of go, utterly focused, unmoved by anything else.

"…Strange."

Li Xun muttered to himself.

The last Emperor—by this point—had already acted. It was at the very instant that Emperor struck that Li Xun had sensed the Law of Destruction, and thus his own strength had surged.

But now—this Emperor had drawn in all his aura, sitting silently, as if he were no more than an ordinary man. Li Xun could not sense even the faintest hint of imperial might.

If such a thing happened in reality, it would naturally be a blessing.

But within the Emperor's blood, it was the opposite.

For if he could not perceive this Emperor's aura, he could not comprehend the path this Emperor had walked.

And if he did not know what Dao this Emperor pursued, then this drop of Emperor's blood would be useless to him, save for refining it to slightly bolster his cultivation.

"My luck… can't be that bad, can it?"

Li Xun stepped forward, coming before the go board. His gaze swept across it casually, and in that instant, his entire body froze.

The go board before him, once seemingly ordinary with its black and white stones, now brimmed with unfathomable power. Each piece radiated terrifying laws, ceaselessly evolving.

Like stars turning in their orbits.

Like countless miniature worlds being ceaselessly opened and destroyed.

As though an unseen Creator was continuously weaving worlds into existence, only to annihilate them again.

Pa-tap!

Another stone fell.

At the very moment the crisp sound rang out, Li Xun was abruptly expelled from the valley.

Hoo—!

Li Xun slowly opened his eyes, exhaling a long breath. Deep within his gaze, a joy he could not conceal shimmered.

"This is… the Law of Creation!"

After comprehending the Law of Destruction, now yet another extremely rare law had revealed itself to him. For Li Xun, this was a tremendous blessing.

If he could truly master the Law of Creation, then without question, his strength would rise yet again.

He did not linger.

Once more, Li Xun's spiritual sense extended out, plunging back into the drop of Emperor's blood.

Buzz!

The scene shifted before him.

Li Xun once again stood within that familiar valley. Striding inward, he found the green-robed man still seated upon the stone chair. His every movement radiated perfect naturalness—no oppressive might, no aura of dread—just the bearing of an eternal Immortal King.

And yet, anyone who laid eyes upon this green-robed figure could not help but feel the urge to kneel and bow, as if they were gazing upon a true deity.

Li Xun kept his heart steady, eyes locked firmly upon the go board. Each time, it was never long before he was expelled from the valley. But every time, he would return.

Again and again.

Thus, a full year quietly passed.

In that year, the entire Holy Son Peak underwent astonishing transformations. It was as though the peak had become a world unto itself—seasons shifting endlessly in rapid cycles.

One moment, the blazing heat of summer scorched the land. The next, winter's icy grip descended, snowflakes drifting gracefully from the sky, draping Holy Son Peak in pristine white.

"Mm. The Holy Son's strength seems to have advanced yet again."

From afar, Elder Xie approached, his bearing calm yet distinguished. Two young disciples trailed respectfully behind him. As he voiced his admiration, he also took the opportunity to instruct his disciples.

"You two must take every chance to seek guidance from the Holy Son. His current strength surpasses even that of many Holy Lords. For him to point you in your cultivation would be more than sufficient."

"Yes, Master."

The two disciples bowed deeply. They stole a glance at the distant Holy Son Peak, reverence filling their eyes.

They had not been disciples of Profound Sun Holy Land for very long. They were among those who joined only after the Profound Sun Sect had risen to the rank of a Holy Land. And from the day they entered, the name they heard most often was Li Xun.

It was said that Profound Sun Holy Land's ascension to its current status rested mainly on Senior Brother Li Xun. Without him, there would not even be a Saint to guard the sect, let alone the prestige it now commanded.

"Mm."

Elder Xie nodded lightly, reminding once more, "When you are brought before the Holy Son, do not forget your manners."

"Rest assured, Master," the two disciples said solemnly.

"…Though I wonder if we'll actually get to see him this time," Elder Xie muttered under his breath.

He extended his palm and sent forth a streak of divine light, which merged into the protective grand array that veiled Holy Son Peak.

Over the past year, he had come several times. Each time, no matter how many messages he sent, there had never been any response.

But today was different.

Not long after he sent his message, the entire Holy Son Peak trembled slightly.

The outer barrier of the mountain's protective array parted, opening a gap.

At the same time, a clear and resonant voice reached Elder Xie and his two disciples.

"Elder Xie, please, come up."
