Due to the nature of the circumstances, with Kumogakure being so far away, Konoha did not pursue the same conditions as the others. But they still wanted adequate compensation for being invaded, as such primarily sought a large lump sum to help with their financial situation in the short term. It was a smart decision, as Kumogakure was the nation who were most able to pay and were likely to be very against any sort of revenue of mission compensation. As such, the final total for reparations to be paid was 5 billion Ryo in one large payment. It was the main point of contention, and was an incredibly large number in comparison to previous wars. But Konoha's position was so dominant the Cloud could only push back so much.
Apart from this were more minor details and basics like non-aggression pacts. The Leaf also gained some basic Lightning Jutsu that the Cloud didn't care too much about, even if it hurt to lose them. For example the C rank, Overdrive that sped up brain signals to increase striking speed and Spider Web that electrocuted enemies caught within its vicinity by spreading lightning across the ground. Both Jutsu were useful, but still ultimately C rank. And with the Stormbreaker's own lightning expertise it didn't feel like they were giving up too much along with the D ranks. Especially when one of the C ranks - Overdrive seemed like a heavily nerfed version of the fabled Thunderclap Impulse.
For the Leaf on the other hand, these acquisitions were useful to provide a different more experienced perspective while enhancing their ability to grow Shinobi with that nature style.
This meant, all that was left was the point about the Lightning Chakra Mode. Unfortunately, the Cloud and the Raikage were adamant, citing the monetary compensation and other Lightning style they gave up instead, as well as an undeniable code of honour, in the name of the Third Raikage, who had perished in the war, due to a certain shinobi.
It was clear that under no circumstances would they give up the Raikage's signature Lightning Chakra mode, so instead as planned they shifted towards a Jutsu spotted mainly during the first fight between Kumo and Konoha. In the fight where Minato and Orochimaru held off the Third Raikage and his army, a white haired, dark skinned figure was seen often by the Raikage's side. That same figure performed Jutsu that created black lightning that looked incredibly powerful, and seemed to be the only one capable of doing so other than its developer the Third Raikage. Minato and Orochimaru, who had noticed it, spoke about it to Katsuro and brought it up in their discussions on how to deal with Kumo. Katsuro was all for it, a way to potentially enhance his Lightning Style that had plateaued was exactly what he wanted. From hearing about it, and with his knowledge of how Wood style interacted with Yang, he theorised that the Black Lightning incorporated Yin. But only the secrets and notes from its developer would confirm it.
After their fierce and outright rejection of giving up the Lightning Chakra Mode, they found themselves in a precarious position once Konoha asked for the Black Lightning instead. With most other areas worked out, it essentially came down to either giving it up or continuing fighting a war. By now they knew that continuing would be madness, especially after the recent reality check that reminded them just how many monsters of Konoha they would have to beat. Therefore, they needed peace and to buy time for their own prodigies to grow.
Darui, who had received personal training from the late Raikage due to his incredible potential. He was blessed with amazing control over Lightning chakra nature, as well as Water and Wind, and due to this, the Third Raikage had taken the young shinobi under his wing, and taught him his very own Black Lightning technique, which in itself was unimaginably rare, and could very much stand as the pinnacle of all Lightning Release. While having similar speeds to the typical Lightning style but with even greater power, it was a testament to the pedestal Kekkei Genkai were held on even if it was unconfirmed it was a Kekkei Genkai. He was chosen for his natural talent, and his ability to use the Water and Lightning styles naturally. He was the peak of Kumo's next generation and it allowed him to learn Black Lightning under the Raikage which would make him the strongest Lightning user in Kumo outside the Raikage. Not only that, the boy was showing immense potential in using his chakra natures in combination to create a different Kekkei Genkai in Storm Release. If he achieved both of these and lived up to his potential, Kumo had another Kage level shinobi in the making. Similarly, Samui, a young kunoichi, was an extremely skilled swordsman for her age, primarily using a tanto and the chakra nature of Lightning, very much like Kakashi. Furthermore, she was also similar to the son of the White Fang as she was also a prodigy at her tender age, alongside Darui. As well as these two, the young Toroi, who displayed his rare use of the Magnet Style Kekkai Genkai outside of Sunagakure, was also famed throughout the village.
However, the Cloud also claimed Yugito Nii- the Jinchuuriki of the 2 Tails. She was a hard-working, honorable shinobi, and even as one of the youngest shinobi in her village, her commitment and bond with her Tailed Beast made her one of the only perfect Jinchuuriki in the world, and clearly a much more powerful Jinchuuriki than others before her, even though she sat out of the war due to being so young, and having such a special bond with her Tailed Beast that only came once in every generation of Jinchuuriki.
With the young, promising geniuses the Cloud Village hosted, and A and B, who were still young and had a lot of developments to come, Kumo's future was still bright and they were committed to make sure those young flames would not be snuffed out early by spies.
Eventually, thanks to the Leaf group's persuasion, the secrets of the Black Lightning Technique were given up by the Cloud. Without its developer to guide anyone through it, they hoped that with the little information they gave the Leaf would struggle to reconstruct it. Which would mean that they would have given up not much apart from the large payment, and even if they somehow did. They wouldn't be able to produce a user that would be effective against them at least for decades. The closest was a freak of nature like Katsuro, and he was powerful enough that it would likely not make a difference.
With nothing left to discuss, the diplomatic squad quickly left what was technically no longer enemy territory and returned back home.
Upon their arrival and their report, Minato's fame rose to even greater heights. He had proved his strength yet again, managing to achieve all the set out objectives even against the aggressive and stubborn Fourth Raikage, who was still relatively young but incredibly powerful for his age. Furthermore, his ability to talk down and proceed to successfully negotiate favourable terms for the Leaf, over the already angered Cloud, proved that he was a capable leader, even if his political skills were still unrefined. His strength had already been proven completely, and with this successful mission and the prestige from completely ending the war, he proved his qualifications completely.
Regardless, the Leaf was profiting greatly, and life continued and even grew past what it had been like before, with the prosperity within the village that followed in the weeks after the negotiations. The large amounts of money arrived and were initially distributed to families who faced injuries or deaths, before being saved for the next Hokage to deal with.
At this point it was a one horse race, in an alternative world after the Third World War it would be between Orochimaru as well as Minato. But in this one, Minato was put forward by Katsuro who was previously a shoe-in for the position. It meant that Orochimaru didn't even really think about it even if he somewhat wanted it.
