Chapter 10 - Eden Prequel Arc: Day 1-3

Call Vidhan's research team Squad A and Samarth's outer recon team Squad B for easier and faster reference. When squad B arrived near Eden, they were dropped off in a dead zone to avoid being seen.

They had to move through this dangerous area, which was still safer than being spotted by Eden soldiers. Meanwhile, squad A was escorted directly to Eden's main entrance. They were allowed in by pretending to be a school research team studying how Eden functions as an organization during the apocalypse. Team A was instructed to rest for the night before starting their tour, and Vidhan mentioned he would stay at his younger brother's place to sleep and maybe he could learn more about Eden from him.

Meanwhile, Squad B sets up camp and places small recording cameras and sensors along the path to monitor any movement and check for illegal activity. Day 1 ends without any trouble.

On the second day, Squad A meets Eden's president, who is a girl but doesn't talk much. Instead, her bodyguard or right-hand man, Jatin, does the talking. He explains that they are free to explore anywhere in Eden and can ask for help if needed. However, they are advised to avoid certain areas because Eden is still an armed organization and needs some confidentiality, which is a reasonable request.

Squad B stayed put, watching the equipment for any sign of movement, but nothing showed up. Since the area seemed empty, they decided to move ahead toward the northern side of the Eden forests, where the chances of human trafficking from the Chinese empire were highest. Day two passed quietly as well, apart from a few wholesome moments when Vidhan introduced his brother to his friends, and constant arguing and fighting between Samarth and Anaaya.

Day three begins with Squad B finally reaching the northern forests, while Squad A starts working on their report. The only strange thing Squad A notices in Eden is the relationship between the president, Nidhi, and her bodyguard, Jatin. It feels as if Nidhi is just a puppet and Jatin is the one actually in control.

Squad A then asks Vidhan's brother if there is anything unusual about Eden. He says everything is normal, people are happy, and even the children brought in from nearby areas are treated well, taught properly, and well fed. As Squad A travels around Eden, all their observations remain positive. From food production to traces of local mineral mining found during Eden's establishment, everything appears impressive.

Meanwhile, Squad B sets up surveillance devices in their target areas, hoping they won't find anything strange, just like during their 25 km trek over the past two days. However, by nightfall, things start to feel off. There is no sign of human trafficking, which should be good, but instead they notice a heavy presence of guards moving around, as if they are searching for intruders. Even though Squad B is well hidden and their tracks are covered, the situation feels odd. Still, without clear confirmation, they decide not to report anything to Squad A yet.
