Chapter 237 - Chapter 237: We’d Have Been Better Off Losing!

"Oh" The Grand Priest nodded as well. "That request is extremely easy to fulfill. Approved"

He clapped his hands lightly, and a wash of green light instantly enveloped Vados.

A moment later, Vados's body slowly solidified real, complete, tangible again.

She lifted a hand to touch her face without saying a word, but the look she gave Levos sent a chill crawling up his spine.

Being stared down by a "chef" whose cooking skills were… highly questionable… was not a pleasant feeling.

"Uh…" Levos immediately changed the subject. "Grand Priest… may I ask about Merus?"

It had been a long time since his last contact with Merus.

According to Vados, it was Merus who had informed her about Earth's situation. That was why she'd decided to lure Champa into investigating Universe 7 in the first place.

As for what happened after that, even she didn't know she couldn't reach her younger brother at all.

"If you mean that elite Galactic Patrolman from Universe 7…" The Grand Priest's expression didn't change. "He died in the line of duty."

"How is that possible?!" Levos's eyes went wide.

Merus was a trainee angel. Who in the universe could kill him?!

The other angels froze as well. This "Merus" sounded like he shared the same name as their brother.

"Yes." The Grand Priest gave a slight nod, offering no further explanation. "It is regrettable. He made his choice… to protect Universe 7."

"To protect Universe 7?" Levos went still. A storm of story beats flashed through his mind.

Then a thought struck him like lightning.

Did Merus go after Moro early?!

It wasn't impossible at all.

Back then, Universe 7 was drowning in overlapping crises. Zamasu and Moro were both threats capable of wiping the entire universe clean.

And compared to everything else, Moro who could use Planet Namek's Dragon Balls to grant three wishes was the most terrifying variable of all.

Merus might have had no choice but to entrust Earth's matter to Vados, while he went alone to stop Moro.

The more Levos thought about it, the more it felt ninety percent certain.

His scalp tightened with urgency.

Merus's death meant too much.

Had Moro absorbed Seven-Three? Had he copied Merus's abilities? Or had Merus managed to weaken him before falling?

Any one of those possibilities could reshape the balance of Universe 7.

Moro's ultimate form… could be angel-tier.

And after living for millions of years, armed with countless secret techniques including Spirit Fission this boss's threat level was beyond imagination.

With Levos's current Cell Max body, Spirit Fission was basically a hard counter. If Moro so much as laid a hand on him, his power could scatter and drain away in an instant.

"Damn it… we'd have been better off letting Universe 7 lose!" Levos rubbed his temples.

"I have to learn the Yardrat people's trump-card techniques fast."

Right now, he was so anxious he wanted to return to Universe 7 immediately, grab the Yardrat elder, and drag him into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train him nonstop.

But Merus was still the immediate issue.

Earth's group didn't know much about Merus, so Levos skipped over his true identity and gave them a simple explanation.

"So an elite Galactic Patrolman was supposed to come to Earth and help us," Piccolo said, frowning hard, "but he died because an even bigger crisis forced him to intervene?"

"Merus…" Goku scratched his head. "Levos, you said he was stronger than you. Is that really true?"

"Yeah," Levos said flatly. "And this enemy is even scarier than Zamasu's bunch."

"Sorry, Grand Priest," Goku suddenly looked up. "Can I exchange the reward we won earlier?"

"Just state your request, Son Goku." The Grand Priest's smile was calm.

"Then… please revive that Patrolman named Merus."

"You're sure that's what you want?"

"Yes." Goku nodded seriously.

He'd never even met Merus. They had no personal bond. But Merus was connected to Earth's side, and he was a powerful fighter.

For Goku, those two reasons were enough.

"Very well. I'll process that exchange." The Grand Priest raised both hands. A green sphere of light formed in his palms, then sank into the void and vanished.

"Your request has been completed." The Grand Priest clasped his hands behind his back. "However… if he gets himself killed again, he won't be so fortunate next time."

"Thank you so much, Grand Priest!" Goku was so excited he practically started rubbing his hands together.

Levos's face brightened too.

From the Grand Priest's tone, it sounded like Merus's revival this time hadn't stripped him of his angelic power.

Of course, the Grand Priest would definitely keep Merus under watch and forbid him from using angel authority to interfere directly in Universe 7's affairs.

But even so, it was enough.

Merus's combat instincts and technique were top-tier. Even without "cheating," he was still a high-end piece of fighting power.

And the tragedy of the Moro arc… still had room to be rewritten.

At that point, Levos and the others could barely contain themselves.

They all wanted to return to Universe 7 now.
