Chapter 289 - Chapter 289: A Pirated Recording Leaks…

"Your Majesty, even great food should be eaten in moderation," Levos reminded him.

Frieza weakly shot a glance at the mountain of empty plates piled in front of Levos.

"I usually don't need to eat at all," Frieza said, voice drained. "But today is very strange. I'm starving really starving…"

Before he could finish, everyone on Earth wore the same look of realization.

They had all felt it too: their appetites had clearly changed.

Even Bulma, Android 18, Chi-Chi, and the others were eating like a storm had hit the table.

Over by Piccolo and Dende, the two of them were gulping down water like their lives depended on it.

"Piccolo, Dende maybe you should eat something too?" Levos said. "Just drinking water won't fill you up."

As he spoke, he stacked a pile of grilled fish in front of them.

Piccolo's nose twitched. The fragrance hit him, and his expression turned awkward.

"Forget it. I haven't eaten in years."

"If you don't eat, you won't have the energy," Levos persuaded. "Saiyan bloodline demands a massive amount of food. Water alone won't be enough."

Piccolo stared at the golden, crispy fish. His nose betrayed him again, twitching on its own.

Namekians had sharp senses. The smell kept tempting him.

Dende was struggling too. He could feel his body craving food, but old habits made him resist.

"…I'll just take one bite," Piccolo finally yielded. He carefully pinched a tiny piece of fish and put it in his mouth. "We Namekians absolutely do not indulge in earthly appetites."

The flavor exploded across his taste buds.

Piccolo's eyes went wide.

"And?" Levos asked with a grin.

Piccolo didn't answer. He tore off a big chunk and stuffed it into his mouth. Then another. And another.

In seconds, an entire plate of grilled fish vanished.

"We Namekians weren't like this," Piccolo said, face burning with embarrassment. He glanced at Dende. "Right, Dende? It's all because of the Saiyan bloodline…"

He barely finished before Dende couldn't hold back either. He grabbed a piece of meat and tried it.

And immediately fell.

"So delicious!" Dende sighed in wonder. "So food can have this many flavors…"

Levos watched the two of them devour the food and nearly cracked.

The "it's not that good" curse truly worked everywhere.

Frieza, on the side, sipped congee in tiny mouthfuls. His complexion finally regained a little color.

What just happened made him realize the changes Saiyan blood had brought him were far deeper than he'd imagined. It had even altered his eating habits.

"From now on… my spaceship must be stocked with more chefs."

In a corner, Bardock and Gine sat together, speaking quietly as they watched the laughter in the yard.

Gine's face was full of happiness. "Kakarot is living far better on Earth than I ever imagined. Back then I thought sending him here would only make him suffer…"

Goku wandered over, curiosity all over his face.

"Dad… did you really live a thousand years?"

"To be precise," Bardock said, smiling more often now that Gine was back, "one thousand and fifty-seven years. I used to believe the older you got, the harder it was to feel joy… but today just this single day has completely shattered that belief."

Nearby, Goten quietly observed the scene. Familiar yet unfamiliar.

The pictures from old photographs were happening right in front of him. For a moment, he almost believed his past life had been a nightmare.

"Goten," Gohan said, patting his brother's shoulder. "Something on your mind? I know everything that happened in your timeline. Want to hear what our world has been through? In terms of despair… it's not much better than yours."

After hearing their story, Goten sighed. "I thought… with someone as powerful as Levos here, this world would always be filled with happiness."

The banquet ended in laughter. The fighters couldn't wait to rush to the Lookout and start training.

Levos, however, felt a headache coming on.

If he'd known, he would've asked Ao Debiao to "optimize" the side effects of Saiyan blood too.

At this rate… would all humanity eat the Earth into collapse?

Levos flicked a look at Vados. Her appetite was impossible to read, making it hard to tell whether she'd been affected at all.

But now wasn't the time to obsess over that. He planned to ask Vados later get advice on how to deal with a looming food crisis.

"Levos, why are you the only one frowning?" Yamcha threw an arm around his shoulders. "Come on train with us!"

The crowd, itching to power up, didn't even bother resting. They surrounded Levos and urged him to guide their training.

"You're the strongest among us. Don't hold out teach us everything you know."

"But, Young Master Yamcha… your comprehension is even worse than mine," Puar muttered. "Won't you just drag Young Master Levos down…"

"Damn it!" Yamcha snapped. "Puar, why are you siding with him?!"

Levos chuckled and smoothed things over. "Alright. Everyone form a circle. We're leaving now."

And in his heart, he added: Preferably, we'll grind hard enough to crush every boss left in the universe.

Whoosh !

The fighters vanished, leaving only the women behind… and a battlefield of plates and cups.

"These idiots," Chi-Chi huffed. "Not a single one asked whether we wanted to train too."

"Fighting might be 'a man's thing,' but with these bodies we'd be wasting an opportunity if we didn't train," someone said. "I even placed in the martial arts tournament once, you know."

"Lifelong barriers we couldn't break before… now we can surpass them easily. I don't want to waste it."

Chi-Chi's rant sparked a wave of agreement especially from Gine.

"Every time Bardock went out on a mission, I worried sick," Gine said softly. "I always wondered how it would feel to fight alongside him. Now the chance is right here. I can't let it slip."

Vados listened with an amused smile, tossing in a playful jab now and then.

Bulma, however, was calmer. "Has anyone considered… that the urge to train and fight might be a Saiyan instinct?"

Even so, she decided she would build a women-only training facility.

After all, Android 18 and Launch were strongly in favor.

At the Lookout, everyone had barely squeezed into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when a piece of shocking news hit them out of nowhere.

In the dead of night, a battered spaceship tore through Earth's atmosphere and hurriedly docked at the Lookout.

Mr. Popo immediately alerted Levos inside the chamber.

"A visitor has arrived."

Levos appeared on the plaza in an instant and saw Jaco, face full of panic.

"Levos! Something huge happened!" Jaco clutched a tablet and pulled up a video. "Look right now!"

Inside the Lookout's hall, every fighter gathered around the screen.

The tablet was playing the full recording of the "All-Overview Tournament."

Not just one angle multiple angles. Crystal clear. You could even hear the competitors' conversations.

Yet no one knew where it originated.

According to Jaco, after it fermented for a while, it had already exploded across the entire universe, drawing the attention of countless factions.

Earth hopelessly behind the times had only just learned about it.

Piccolo frowned. "That was an internal competition. The only audience were the gods…"

"I smell conspiracy." Frieza narrowed his eyes. "It must be those Supreme Kais who refuse to accept the results. They want to ignite conflict between every universe and ours."

"And if I'm right," he continued, voice cold, "this video isn't only spreading in our universe. Every universe has watched it by now."

Levos had already considered the same.

It looked like the Supreme Kais of other universes were bitter about losing.

Or perhaps this was pressure aimed at Levos.

After all, the Gods of Destruction were still inside Cell Max, not released.

Originally it was "just absorb a little." But one slip, and it became… this.

It was time to let them out. If he waited much longer, Cell Max might truly digest them.

Besides, during the fight with Ozotto, Levos had absorbed plenty of God of Destruction clones… and in the end, he'd even taken a huge bite out of Ozotto's true body.

Ozotto was on an entirely higher level than those Gods of Destruction.

To the point where Cell Max was still suffering from indigestion.

If it didn't even have the energy to digest the "real meal," then these leftover scraps were just taking up space. Better to release them later and ask what was really going on.

Now, everyone who had participated in the tournament was discussing what consequences the leak might trigger.

As for everyone else half of them were simply watching the video with delight, completely hooked.

"Wow so that's the God of Destruction candidate Toppo? He's insane! No wonder it was so hard for Goku to beat him!"

"His Majesty lost… what a shame. He could've ended it so fast…"

"Hurry up, play the next match! I want to see Levos!"

"Man, I thought Piccolo had it… but that Hit he's terrifying."

"Buu did pretty well too."

With Bardock's thousand-plus years of training, people couldn't help comparing him to Hit.

"That man is an assassin," Bardock said gravely. "In a fight to the death, I wouldn't be his match."

When the footage reached Caulifla versus Levos and Kale holding back multiple top fighters alone no one could sit still.

"Universe 6 has female Saiyans this terrifying?!"

"Caulifla's talent is monstrous, but Kale is even more outrageous. If Frieza hadn't stopped her… she might've flipped the entire arena."

"So Beerus was right to have Frieza compete!"

Frieza's cheek twitched uncontrollably.

A pirated recording was already bad enough yet whoever leaked it didn't even cut the unrelated parts.

Absolutely deranged.

"I'm done watching," Frieza said stiffly. "If there's nothing else, I'll go back to training."

Not yet, Your Majesty. Your highlight reel hasn't even arrived.

Levos sent a message directly into Frieza's mind.

"Your Majesty, train in moderation. In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, your height still increases by normal time."

"If you stay inside for two full months, then come out, people will definitely ask why you suddenly grew ten centimeters. That's how you get exposed…"

Frieza refused to believe it. He walked over and compared heights with Levos.

Sure enough

He had grown one centimeter already.

Frieza's breath caught.

He hadn't expected Ao Debiao's "restriction" to be this vicious.

Train or don't train… Frieza fell into torment once again.

The video reached the final match: Kale versus Puar.

Nobody believed Puar had a chance.

Yet somehow she was the most stubborn one of all her overwhelming power even made the gods' faces change.

"If Puar can transform, Frieza deserves the credit!"

"His Majesty really is His Majesty."

"Frieza has dealt with Saiyans for so long no one understands how to help them transform better than he does!"

Frieza clenched his teeth, saying nothing.

"Ah! His Majesty is suffering!"

"Kale hit way too hard!"

"Levos, why didn't you stop it?"

Levos immediately defended himself. "Back then I might not have even been a match for Puar!"

In the end, everyone looked at Frieza with the same eyes

Your Majesty… you've been wronged.

Frieza couldn't take it anymore.

Those pitying gazes were nauseating.

Just like yesterday's warm, family scenes he couldn't understand it, and he couldn't bear to look at it.

Puar, now understanding the whole story, apologized over and over. "I'm sorry, King Frieza! I misunderstood you! I was too impulsive!"

"Hmph." Frieza lifted his chin. "Why apologize? Blame me for not training hard enough before."

After the video ended, Bardock murmured, "So there are Saiyans who can live peacefully… Maybe that sense of justice is the road I should walk from now on."

Jaco then added more.

"Rumor has it the Saiyan Empire has gathered an army and is heading for Universe 6. Their target is to abduct those two female Saiyans!"

"What?!" Goku's eyes went wide. "Why would they capture Caulifla and Kale?!"

"They want to breed the strongest bloodline possible," Bardock said, voice heavy. "Paragus likely intends for Broly to… pair with those two female Saiyans…"

As someone who had once belonged to the Saiyan Empire, Bardock knew plenty of internal details.

"Bardock tell us everything you know about the Saiyan Empire!" someone urged.

In a distant, unknown star region, a spaceship suddenly changed course and plunged into another stretch of space.

On board, Trunks looked confused.

"Bajitena… why did our ship suddenly alter its route?"

Before him stood three female half-Saiyans.

The leader was a petite, cute girl named Bajitena.

Behind her was a tall, heavily-muscled woman with a smooth forehead named Nanaba.

The third, with waist-length hair, was Latilis.

Back then, Master Roshi, Krillin, and Oolong had all been visibly dazzled by the three youthful beauties.

"If Yamcha isn't coming with us, he's missing out!"

"Even the lowest-ranking foot soldiers are this cute. When we reach the Saiyan Empire's homeworld, won't it be absolute heaven?!"

A report blared through the ship.

"Report! The Empire has entered emergency mobilization. All vacations are cancelled. Mission priority has changed. We are heading to a conquest assignment. Target Planet of the Supreme Kais!"

"Planet of the Supreme Kais?" Trunks blurted. "How do you even know where that is?"

"Lord Zuno knows everything. After waiting in line for over ten years, we finally found the most suitable planet for planting a Tree of Might."

Trunks frowned. "But my uncle is still waiting for me to see him…"

"You may be a prince," Bajitena sneered, "but everyone views your uncle as a puppet. His orders don't matter."

Latilis explained calmly, "The Empire recently launched a new wave of war. We're short on manpower so we've been temporarily requisitioned…"
