"I'll just have to control my temper, then. It's fine. No distractions means better focus."
No communication. That meant if something happened out here, they'd have to shut down the whole barrier to get us out. It wasn't the most convenient setup, but warping time wasn't exactly a common spell.
"Angel Irina," Masaomi said. "Don't worry about what happens while you're inside. Michael-sama and Sister Griselda have already given their approval for me to handle things here."
"Yuuto, Xenovia," Rias added. "Don't worry about the Underworld. Focus entirely on your training. We'll manage things on this side. And Asia..."
Rias turned to the blonde girl and spoke softly. "I want you to go in with them and provide support. It's also a good chance for you to get used to your Balance Breaker. Your healing will be the backbone of our survival in the coming war."
"Yes, Rias-oneesama!"
Between Trihexa and Asem's forces, the coming conflict would be the most violent in history. Many lives would be lost. In that environment, Asia's healing wouldn't just be helpful; it would be essential to keeping the front lines from collapsing.
Rias hugged Asia tightly. "But please, don't push yourselves too far. That goes for you too, Yuuto, Xenovia, and Irina. Morris, you understand that, right?"
Rias gave Morris a sharp, maternal glare. The warrior scratched his head with a sheepish grin. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. I was joking about the 'intent to kill' thing... mostly. There's no point if they actually die. I'm training them so they survive. That said... this will be the most brutal month of your lives."
"That's all I ask," Rias said. "Train them well."
"Leave it to me. Just make sure you keep an eye on Issei. Miwa and Alice will be pinned down maintaining the barrier. Nina and the Valkyrie are here, but you never know what might happen."
"Of course."
The door to the hospital room opened, and Issei's parents stepped in.
"Is it okay for us to come in now?" Issei's mother asked.
"Yes, Mother," Rias replied. "Have you been waiting outside?"
"We didn't want to interrupt," Issei's father said with a small smile. "It sounded like you were discussing something important."
He was carrying a large bag, likely filled with a change of clothes and essentials for when Issei finally woke up.
Alice stepped forward and looked at Issei's mother with an unusually serious expression. "Mother... may I ask a favor of you?"
"A favor? Of course, dear. Anything I can do to help."
Alice nodded. "There is something I would like you to make for us."
A few hours later.
With the preparations complete, Xenovia, Irina, Asia, Miwa, Alice, Morris, and I had relocated to a Grigori facility hidden deep in the mountains of northeastern Japan.
A researcher in a white lab coat guided us through a series of long corridors for about five minutes. We were led into a vast, cavernous chamber at the very heart of the facility. The only thing in the center of the room was a two-story prefabricated house. Everything else was an endless, clinical white.
Miwa and Alice shared a nod. They activated their Shin-ki forms, and magic circles began to manifest by the hundreds. The glowing rings spun faster and faster, expanding until they covered the entire floor of the vast space.
As the light reached a blinding intensity, Miwa looked at us. "Alright, you five. Step inside."
We walked into the center of the array. Miwa and Alice began their incantations, the air humming with the weight of distorted time.
"Good luck, you three," Alice said, her voice sounding a little worried. "Morris's 'serious' training is... well, it's a nightmare. Stay strong... okay?"
"..."
Before we could ask her to elaborate on that ominous warning, the light engulfed us, and the training barrier hummed to life.
