The heavy doors slowly opened before me.
The interior of the palace greeted me with a solemn silence.
Tall marble pillars supported a ceiling adorned with ancient frescoes narrating the exploits of former kings. The polished floor reflected my silhouette as I walked down the central hallway, accompanied by the echo of my own footsteps.
The air was filled with an indecipherable spring scent with an antique touch that conveyed the majesty of the place.
A butler appeared to greet me.
"Please follow me," he said courteously.
I nodded and followed him.
We crossed several corridors, each more elegant than the last, passing by the service staff who conversed in low voices and maids who bowed respectfully when they saw me.
Finally, we arrived at a side room.
"The second princess is waiting for you inside," said the butler, opening the door for me.
