"By the way, do you know the location of these Paradox Pokémon, like Walking Wake?"
Mammon asked AI Sada and AI Turo.
According to the two AIs, Paradox Pokémon are Pokémon that come from a different timeline than the present one.
Therefore, all Paradox Pokémon have counterparts in the modern era.
For example, Great Tusk and Iron Treads share characteristics with Donphan, while Slither Wing and Iron Moth share characteristics with Volcarona.
Even the paradise guardians, Koraidon and Miraidon, share characteristics with Cyclizar.
All Paradox Pokémon are very strong, and among the regular Paradox Pokémon, the strongest purely in terms of power are Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant.
But in reality, besides these regular Paradox Pokémon, there are six more special ones!
And Walking Wake is one of them!
"Walking Wake? Mammon, you know about it too?"
AI Sada's body had recovered somewhat by now. She held her immobilized left arm and looked at Mammon in surprise.
Walking Wake?
Caitlin and the others looked a little bewildered.
"Walking Wake and the others are much fiercer than the regular Paradox Pokémon, and their power levels are very high, so we isolated their habitat from the other Paradox Pokémon," AI Turo explained.
AI Turo explained that otherwise, Walking Wake and the others, being too volatile, would easily harm the other Paradox species.
Although most Paradox Pokémon are fierce, there are still differences among them.
"Since Mammon, you are interested, let's return to the lab first. My body and hers also need to be repaired."
AI Turo noticed Mammon's interest in Walking Wake and the others, so he naturally had nothing to object to.
Whatever Mammon wanted, they didn't mind giving him.
"Alright."
Mammon naturally nodded.
Everyone returned to the elevator. AI Sada and AI Turo looked back one last time at the massive Time Machine, and a look of relief appeared in their eyes.
It's finally... over.
The elevator doors closed again, taking Mammon and the others out of this underground space.
Back inside the lab, AI Turo was the first to lie down in the recovery pod.
"These are the files for the Paradox Pokémon. You can take a look. We need to repair our bodies first, otherwise, it's really difficult to move."
"Okay, okay, Dr. Sada, you two go ahead. We'll look at the files ourselves."
Selene felt it was better to call AI Sada "Dr. Sada," as calling her "AI" felt strange.
AI Sada opened her mouth, but didn't correct her. After all, she and AI Turo could now leave the lab and appear outside.
They definitely needed an identity.
"You inherited all the memories and emotions of the two Doctors—that's what you said. So, for the rest of your days, live with Arven, as if you were the real Doctors making amends to him,"
Mammon patted Arven's arm and smiled at AI Sada.
"This..." AI Sada hesitated slightly.
"Can we talk?" Arven was silent for a moment before speaking to AI Sada.
"Of course," AI Sada nodded.
The two walked to the side to talk privately.
"I hope they can get along well," Platinum said, watching the two of them, sincerely wishing they could coexist harmoniously.
Whether it was Arven or the two AIs, they were truly pitiful people.
"Let's hope so. Let's look at these Paradox Pokémon," Mammon said, turning his attention to the computer screen.
It contained highly detailed data and information on all the Paradox Pokémon. That made sense; AI Sada and AI Turo had spent all their time here researching these Paradox Pokémon.
"Great Tusk, Ground/Fighting type; Flutter Mane, Ghost/Fairy type; Iron Bundle, Ice/Water type; Iron Valiant, Fighting/Fairy type..."
"The Abilities of the ancient species are all Protosynthesis, and the future species all have Quark Drive... they absolutely need Sunny Day and Electric Terrain."
Selene clicked on the files for the Paradox Pokémon one by one, her eyes sparkling.
Moreover, as long as Sunny Day and Electric Terrain are active, the battle power of the Paradox Pokémon increases significantly.
"These future species are especially suitable for me!"
Selene was very happy because she owned Tapu Koko, and Tapu Koko's Ability is Electric Surge.
This is perfect for setting the field for the future species and boosting their battle power.
And coincidentally, she had captured an Iron Valiant.
"Iron Valiant doesn't have the Psychic type?"
Caitlin frowned slightly. She genuinely liked Iron Valiant's cool, samurai-like appearance, but how could Iron Valiant, which looks so similar to Gardevoir and Gallade, not have the Psychic type? Is that right?
"There is a theory that Iron Valiant is a robot created by a mad scientist, and that scientist desperately sought the strongest Psychic Pokémon."
A magnetic male voice came from behind the group. It was AI Turo, who had finished repairing himself and had changed into a clean lab coat.
"Desperately seeking the strongest Psychic Pokémon, yet the resulting Iron Valiant doesn't have the Psychic type?"
Iono's expression was very strange; this was too absurd.
"That's how many things in the world are. Things often go against one's wishes, always running contrary to the original intention."
AI Turo spoke with deep emotion, his hands in his pockets.
"There are quite a few Electric-type Paradox Pokémon!" Iono's big eyes sparkled.
Sandy Shocks, Iron Hands, and Iron Thorns are all Electric-type Paradox Pokémon. She wants them all!
Iono blinked her beautiful eyes, gazing pitifully at Mammon.
With her own strength, it would be difficult to capture a Paradox Pokémon that she could handle.
But Mammon could definitely help her!
Mammon noticed Iono's gaze and gave her a sunny smile. Iono instantly pouted.
Oh no, she was getting more and more indebted. What should she do?
"Speaking of which... Dr. Turo, are these really ancient species?"
Selene's fair, pretty face wrinkled as her gaze fell on the last six Paradox Pokémon.
These six individuals were also specially marked.
Ancient Species: Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt.
Future Species: Iron Leaves, Iron Boulder, Iron Crown.
Of course, Selene didn't pay attention to the three future species; her focus was on the three: Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, and Raging Bolt.
"Yes, according to the data, their modern Pokémon counterparts should be the Ho-Oh's Guard, the Legendary Pokémon of the Kanto region: Suicune, Entei, and Raikou."
AI Turo nodded in response.
"As for the three, Iron Leaves, Iron Boulder, and Iron Crown, their counterparts are the Swords of Justice, the Legendary Pokémon of the Unova region: Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion."
"An ancient species of Entei?" Platinum was stunned, as she was Entei's Trainer.
Platinum carefully looked at the picture of Gouging Fire; it truly shared many similarities with Entei.
However, unlike Entei, Gouging Fire is Dragon/Fire type.
"That's right. Compared to the other Paradox Pokémon, only one individual of Walking Wake and its companions has appeared so far, and their power level and ferocity are superior to the regular Paradox Pokémon."
AI Turo stated.
"Amazing! Paradox species of Legendary Pokémon," Iono exclaimed.
"But something doesn't seem right," Selene frowned.
"According to what you, Dr. Turo, said, the Time Machine transports Pokémon from the ancient era and the future era to the modern era."
"However, the Ho-Oh's Guard appeared only 150 years ago. The three of them were burned to death in the Burned Tower, and then Ho-Oh appeared, revived them, and granted them new power, giving them a new life."
"Based on this legend, the ancient species of Suicune and the others shouldn't look like this, right?"
Selene spoke while thinking, believing her reasoning was sound.
The Ho-Oh's Guard only appeared 150 years ago, and they were originally just three ordinary Pokémon, which is why they were burned to death in the great fire at the Tin Tower.
Ho-Oh couldn't bear it and used its power to revive them. Under Ho-Oh's power, Suicune and the others were born, becoming Ho-Oh's emissaries in the world, known as the 'Ho-Oh's Guard'.
In other words, Suicune and the others only took on the appearance people see now due to the influence of Ho-Oh's power.
Yet the images of Walking Wake and its companions displayed on the computer possess many characteristics of Suicune, Entei, and Raikou.
This doesn't make sense!
"Selene is right," Mammon agreed, nodding.
In fact, it's not just the Ho-Oh's Guard; according to a more metaphysical interpretation, the Swords of Justice shouldn't have future species either.
Because the future of Cobalion and the Swords of Justice has already been entrusted entirely to Keldeo.
Therefore, Cobalion and the others theoretically no longer have a future, yet the Time Machine still transported their future species here.
Of course, this argument doesn't hold up very well.
"We considered that point too."
AI Turo nodded. They had naturally looked into the history of the Ho-Oh's Guard.
"The Time Machine transports Pokémon from the ancient era and the future era to the modern era, but we in the modern era actually don't know much about the Pokémon of the ancient era."
"You are all excellent Trainers, so you should be well aware that a Pokémon's appearance and abilities change depending on the environment."
AI Turo stated.
"Just like the differences between the Hisui Era and the modern era led to differences and disappearances in Pokémon forms, we have no way of knowing what Pokémon Suicune and the others were before they were burned to death."
"But we can infer one thing: the form Suicune and the others had before they were burned might not have been their form from the ancient era."
"And the form they took after being revived and granted power by Ho-Oh activated their genes, bringing them closer to their ancient era appearance."
This... Caitlin and the others were stunned upon hearing this, but after thinking carefully, it seemed plausible.
"Of course, this is just my speculation, not an absolute certainty. After all, the mysteries surrounding Pokémon are countless."
Finally, AI Turo added.
"Tsk~ This theory is certainly interesting," Mammon clicked his tongue.
He really hadn't considered this perspective. AI Turo was indeed correct about one thing.
The ancient era is too far removed from the modern era. Differences in environment, Pokémon evolution, and changes in habits would all cause their appearance and abilities to change.
Therefore, the same species might exist in two completely different forms between the ancient era and the modern era.
It's a pity that no one knows what Pokémon the predecessors of the Ho-Oh's Guard were before they were burned in the Burned Tower.
"It's just speculation. Although the Doctor and we worked together to create the Time Machine, we relied on the crystals here, and these crystals..."
As AI Turo spoke, he looked toward Terapagos in Mammon's arms.
In fact, he had also speculated whether these Paradox Pokémon came not from the past or future, but from an unknown parallel world.
"No need to overthink it. Terapagos definitely possesses the ability to travel through time, so it's not strange for the Time Machine to have this characteristic."
Mammon shook his head. Although the Paradox Pokémon in scarlet and violet are surrounded by various mysteries, he believed the theory of parallel dimensions was the least credible.
Because Terapagos's time travel ability has already been established. The fact that Dr. Sada herself was summoned to the future in the original storyline is proof, and Dr. Sada even took the Scarlet Book with her.
After the Crystalline Pool incident, when Aoki went to Area Zero to read Sada's diary, he could still see that Sada had written about her experiences traveling through time in the diary.
This shows that it is time travel within this world, not a parallel dimension.
The crystals in Area Zero originate from Terapagos, and the Time Machine was created based on the crystal technology. It is impossible for it to summon Pokémon from a parallel world because the crystals in Area Zero come from Terapagos.
The conclusion is simple: Terapagos itself does not have the ability to cross parallel dimensions, so the Time Machine cannot possess that ability.
"Let's go."
After reviewing the Paradox Pokémon data, AI Sada had also finished her repairs, and the group set off, leaving the lab.
"So this is the outside world."
AI Sada looked into the distance, an indescribable emotion rising in her heart.
Since their creation, she and AI Turo had remained in the lab because the technology used to manufacture the two AIs relied on those crystals, preventing them from leaving the lab.
This was their first time coming outside the lab. This was freedom!
"From now on, you can wander freely. Let's keep moving."
Mammon chuckled softly.
"This way," AI Turo offered to lead.
Soon, the group arrived beside a small pond. The surface of the quiet pond was calm, and the most striking sight was a blue Pokémon standing on a rock next to the water.
Its appearance shared similar characteristics with Suicune, but overall it was more savage and brutal. It stood on two sturdy hind legs, had long purple fur on its neck, and two gradually slender tails.
"Roar!!"
Walking Wake also noticed the arrival of strangers, leaped abruptly from the reef, and let out a furious roar.
The fierce roar was deafening, and the wild aura made hearts tremble.
Walking Wake was far more vicious than the regular Paradox Pokémon!
"Quite energetic, aren't you? Suicune, you deal with it."
Mammon revealed a satisfied smile and tossed out a Poké Ball with a flick of his wrist.
A flash of white light appeared, and the elegant and magnificent Suicune landed, calmly raising its head to look across at the opponent.
"???"
But upon seeing Walking Wake opposite it, a question mark appeared above Suicune's head.
This guy... Suicune carefully scrutinized Walking Wake. Why does it look a bit like me?
