Chapter 127 - Superman

POV Rio

A week after the incident with the fighters, I was finally ready to make the trip to civilisation. The nearest country was the USA, and it was around 250 miles away. I would first infiltrate and gather the needed materials, and then I would possibly make a bit of a scene.

"Well, I guess this is it for now, boys," I say to Billy and Skele-Chan.

I look at Skele-Chan specifically.

"You're in charge while I'm gone. You're going to have to be the skeleton of the house," I say with a mock serious tone.

I jump off the plank and start flying just above the sea level. The trip takes a while, and I have to avoid a few ships here and there, but thankfully, I wasn't that close to NYC, so there weren't too many ships. And if I didn't want to be found, it was hard to notice me, and those who did would shrug it off as just their imagination. For camouflage and because it was funny, I was disguised as Superman. The illusion spells I had were more than enough to pull it off; as long as nobody touched the parts of me that weren't human, they wouldn't know it was fake. As I near shore, I get an idea and decide to go with it.

POV Random Civilian

"Hey, look up in the sky!" I shout.

Several people stopped and looked up, and saw what I was pointing at.

"It's a bird!" says a woman.

"It's a plane!" says another.

"It's a frog!" says a man.

We all look at him like he's crazy.

"NO, I-it's SUPERMAN!" screams a kid.

"Come on, kid, that's crazy talk," I reply.

"That's not crazy talk, this is crazy talk, Kablehblehbleh! Klablehblehbleh, Meh Meh Meh, rbrbrbrbrbrbbr!" The kid's parent smacks the kid in the back of the head.

We look back up, and everyone's eyes widen, and our jaws slacken. We can more clearly see what is up there, and it's not a plane.

"Oh my god..." someone says.

Suddenly, the figure changes direction and comes straight towards us. As he gets closer, it becomes even clearer.

"Are they shooting a movie?" asks someone.

However, that thought stops when we see where Superman goes. He flies over towards a speeding car that was about to hit an old woman crossing the street. Superman grabs the woman and places her on the other side of the road before flying off to stop the car.

"Halt!" Superman says, and the guy in the car doesn't slow down at all.

We were almost too scared to look as the car slammed into Superman, but the expected damage didn't happen; instead, the car was stopped with his bare hands.

"You shouldn't speed; it puts everyone in danger," Superman warns.

"Buh buh buh..." The driver says while looking befuddled and confused.

"I hope I didn't hurt you, ma'am," Superman says to the old woman.

"Thank you, sweetie, but I am fine. Have a butterscotch," She replies while handing him a candy.

"Thank you, ma'am, I would love to stay and chat, but I gotta run, stay safe, everyone," Superman says while floating up and then flying away.

"Did... Did that just happen?" I ask no one in particular.

"Yeah, unless we all just hallucinated that Superman flew out of the sky and just saved that old woman," comments a woman.

"But... I thought Superman was from comic books, not... Not real!" says a young man.

POV Rio

I was sucking on the Butterscotch Candy that the nice woman gave me. I had forgotten how good candy could taste. All the sweets I had in the Fallout Verse were usually really old Pre-War food or a Nuka Cola. It also felt really nice to help someone like that. Nothing violent, just a stern warning and some smiles.

'Though I hope that man learned his lesson. Speeding in a city is just reckless and inconsiderate.'

I fly around until I find a suitably isolated place to land and change my disguise. This time, I chose a generic white male with black hair and blue eyes. Someone you would see on the street and instantly forget. My next stop was getting some computers to do some research.

"To the library!" I shout

(AN: You can play the Batman Transition from the 1966 TV Show for maximum immersion.)

When I got to the nearest library, I tried using it but found that it wasn't that useful. I was in the South, so the number of books I could access was not the greatest, and a lot of them were of suspect quality. Like the ones proclaiming that the Confederates were the true patriots and that certain races liked being enslaved.

'What kind of twisted, inbred, hillbilly, twat state am I in?'

I looked it up and found I was in Alabama.

'That makes sense.'

I decided to go to Atlanta, GA instead, as at least there they might have a halfway-decent library with some computers.

The trip to Atlanta was fairly quick. And when I arrived, it was a bit messy and loud, but I found the library quickly.

'Time to put that science skill to work.'

5 Days Later...

I had done a lot of work in this library for the past 5 days, and I still had no idea which world I was in. From what I could tell in terms of technology, this world was more advanced than my original Earth. Specifically in the field of robotics and software. Specifically, the Internet was released to the public in 1971. It was invented in 1967. Other than that, this world was different from the Earth I knew. Many companies don't exist or are named differently. Also, many Anime, Manga, and even Comics don't exist in this world.

'It's like this world is the generic brand Earth. Everything is legally distinct but practically the same.'

The year was 2006. There wasn't anything in particular that was noteworthy. 9/11 happened 5 years ago. The Soviet Union still fell in 1991. China is still Communist. North Korea exists. Everything seemed normal. But I knew it couldn't be as given the few differences I found. Not to mention the magic of this world is better than the Fallout Universe. Not by an insane degree, but enough to be noticed.

'Sigh. Maybe if I do some more research, I will figure out what world I am in. Maybe I should refocus on the differences.'

3 Days Later...

"Finally!" I yell aloud

"Shhhh!" everyone around me responds.

"Sorry," I reply.

I was so excited as I had finally managed to figure out where I was, and best of all, it was a very low-threat world. I had found a website talking about a chain of animatronic-themed restaurants that were shut down many years ago. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. I was in Five Nights At Freddy's Universe. The real issue was that I didn't know too much about this world. I also didn't know what version of the world I was in. Book, Game, or Movie. If it were the book, I would be curious, as I vaguely recall a time-traveling ball pit. I knew the most about the games and nothing about the movie.

'Hmm, if it's 2006 right now, then I shouldn't have to worry about William Afton for almost another 20 years. But I should still go and clean that up. A monster like him should be killed, and all those children's spirits need rest.'

I also learned that the island I woke up on was unclaimed, which means: it's free real estate. I wasn't sure what I would use that info for. Maybe make a new island nation.

'I do still have that pirate ship I can mess with.'

The system showed 83% which meant in another week or so, I would have access to my inventory again. Which would open up my options greatly. It also meant I would have access to base building and summons.

'There is too much for me to do.'

I had created a preliminary plan, but first I needed to do more research. Now that I knew where I was, I needed to try and track down all the major players. Which might require some less-than-legal methods.

'I can do it without being noticed.'

While I was doing the research, I also read the reports about Superman appearing in Savannah, GA. Many said it was a mass hallucination, but I made several more appearances to cause even more chaos. I even stopped a bank robbery. It was quite a bit of fun to do that, but I didn't go too far mostly did my work at night, as I don't have to sleep, and the library closes at 8 pm. I could replicate several of Superman's powers. Speed, Bullet Resistance, Telekinesis/Bio Field, Super Strength, Heightened Senses, X-Ray Vision, and freeze. With that last one being replicated via Ice Magic. Most of those powers were nowhere near the same level as the real Superman, but it was more than enough for this world of normal humans.

I was fairly certain that there wasn't an anti-supernatural task force in this world. For one, while they do have some myths about the supernatural, they also don't have several. I haven't found any suspicious news reports or things that don't quite fit right, and lastly, no one besides the CIA and the FBI has tried to investigate Superman. And neither seems to have any idea how to handle me. They haven't been hostile, but they are really bad at hiding from me. But then again, I can see through walls.

Flashback

I see an apartment full of spy equipment, and I see they are watching me specifically, so I decide to mess with them.

"Good evening, officers," I say from the windowsill.

The agents freak out and scramble to grab their guns, but when they see it's me, they look conflicted.

"Gulp. Uh, hi, um, Mr. Kent," replies what looks like the leader of the agents.

"You know it's quite rude to spy on others," I reply with a gentle smirk.

"Ehem. Well, uh... This is for something else. Not you... I can't say... You know... National Security..." the lead agent said very nervously.

"I am not offended, officer. I know you are just doing your job. Well, I got to go, there's a fire downtown," I say while waving at them.

"Holy cheese and crackers, Batman!" says a pedestrian as I fly away.

End Flashback

'Hehe, good times. Speaking of time looks like the library is closing, so I guess it's time for Superman to go back to work.'

Author's Note:

The Superman idea sort of turned into a whole thing at this point. I will say right now, Rio will be in the FNAF world for a while, but most of it will be a timeskip after he deals with the main events of the FNAF series. It will not be hard. At all. But you can think of this time as prep time, as Rio also has to perfect the mirror in order to get home. Until next time, Ciao.
