Atlas once again found himself drifting at the edge of his own consciousness, taking several deep breaths as he looked at the figure of Dullorak floating before him.
How many times had he tried this with the Void Core? If he counted correctly, this was the twelfth attempt. Yet every single time, it felt as if his very soul was being pulled apart, shredded into pieces he could barely hold together.
He knew, of course, that nothing fatal would happen to him. Dullorak and the others were there to make sure of that, always keeping him safe. But still… it was not enough.
Like… this time, Atlas was fighting something completely different. If before he had struggled to master his mind in countless training sessions, now he was facing something deeper. Now he was fighting to control his own soul.
It was an extraordinary kind of training. And surprisingly, astonishingly difficult.
A faint smile appeared on his lips, followed by a quiet chuckle.
