Mika laughed.
"Of course not, Nadia. What a horrifying thought." He shook his head. "It only works on small creatures—insects, rodents, things like that. Human brains are too complex.'
'And even if it worked, I wouldn't want to. After all, I don't want to become a cannibal."
She felt a rush of relief.
Then Mika turned around in her embrace to gave her and cupped her cheek.
"And why would I ever want to take a bite out of this beautiful head?" His thumb stroked her skin. "I'd much rather give it a whole lot of kisses."
And to prove his point, he leaned in and kissed her.
Her forehead. Her cheek. Her nose. The corner of her mouth.
They were flying at supersonic speed. No one could see them. But still, it was embarrassing.
Especially after all the thoughts she had been having—all the confusing, forbidden feelings that churned in her chest whenever she looked at him.
