Mika did not hesitate to grab onto this deal.
If anything, he moved with such eagerness that it almost seemed as if he was scared she would take it back.
"Of course, Nadia." He said, his voice warm with satisfaction.
"After all..." He leaned in closer, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered. "...my dear mother is asking for some clarity."
"And it's my duty as a son to make sure that she understands everything."
The way he spoke, so low, so knowing, made her feel like they were the only two people in the world, wrapped in a cocoon of shared secrets and forbidden desires.
But she didn't care. She didn't pull away. Instead, she looked at him with wide, anticipatory eyes, waiting to see what he would do next.
