Nadia lifted her head to see what Mika was pointing at and the moment she did, a beautiful smile spread across her face.
Astrid had actually fallen asleep!
Her delicate eyes were closed, her lips slightly parted, her chest rising and falling in peaceful rhythm.
Her tails had wrapped around her body like living blankets, and she looked so content, so utterly at peace, that Nadia felt her heart ache with love.
"The poor thing." She murmured, reaching out to stroke her daughter's cheek. "She must have been so tired."
She chuckled softly. "But that only means she had fun. I hope she always sleeps with such peace."
Mika pulled Astrid closer, draping a blanket over her sleeping form.
"She will." He said, his voice full of gentle certainty. "After all, she's finally broken through with you. So, from here, it will only get better.
Despite saying such positive words, Mika felt a twinge of disappointment.
