Chapter 14 - The First Near-Union

"Some things are more intimate than skin."

---

Location: Luminous Rain Pavilion — Forbidden Waterfall Chamber

Leng Xiyue's breath slowed.

Her robes clung to her damp skin, a single thread away from falling.

Across the silver-blue steam, Long Tian stood, his eyes locked not on her body—

but on her soul.

"You shouldn't be here," she said.

"You called me," he replied, calmly. "Not with words. With resonance."

She flinched.

The truth stung.

---

Her Internal Conflict:

Why doesn't he look at me with hunger?

Why does that make me want him more?

Her spirit vein trembled—Yin was blooming.

She knew the legends: if two perfectly harmonized cultivators touched in resonance, even without union, their Qi could ascend.

But what she didn't know…

Was how it would feel to stand on the edge of surrender.

---

He stepped forward.

She did not move away.

His fingers reached toward hers—

And then—

Touch.

---

Not skin on skin.

But Qi on Qi.

Their energies met—

Entwined—

Danced.

---

The Near-Union:

Their spiritual cores aligned.

Long Tian's Qi moved like a calm tide.

Hers, like storm-swept petals.

And in that storm—

the Sutra opened a page between them.

---

A phantom image bloomed behind her:

A lotus.

Half-bloomed.

Crimson on one side, silver on the other.

"Xiyue…"

"If I go further, you'll never be able to see me the same way."

"I already can't," she whispered.

Her hand rose to his chest.

Their breaths matched.

Qi flowed.

---

And then—

Thunder.

A divine bell rang through the night.

The pavilion walls trembled.

A voice echoed from the heavens:

"Stop! You dare awaken the Fourth Seal beneath Heaven's gaze?!"

---

Sect Master Lin's voice.

He was coming.

---

Scene Closes With:

Xiyue pulls away.

Her lips tremble.

Not with fear—

But with longing.

"One more moment… and I would have let you have all of me."

Long Tian closes his eyes.

"That moment will come. But not under fear."

They separate.

But the resonance lingers.

And far away…

The Sutra glows.

A fourth seal begins to hum.
