Chapter 650 - The Collapse of Gong Ye’s Faith

Weren't transmigrators supposed to be one of a kind? Even if there were others, there shouldn't be that many, right? Then why did it sound, from Song Wanníng's tone, like transmigrators were as common as dirt?

Gong Ye's conviction wavered again. mBut the next thing Song Wanníng said hit him like a hammer right in the chest.

"I've already run into several since I was in the lower realm. After I ascended, I met a few more."

Her voice was calm, almost conversational.

"But you're better than all of them. That's the only reason you're still alive. As for that so-called system you mentioned, I've seen it too. It's already been destroyed."

Her smile was gentle, almost soft, as if she were praising him. "In the end, your fates are all the same. Invaders deserve to die. My mission is to wipe out every last one of you."

She tilted her head slightly, eyes full of quiet composure.

Gong Ye's face went deathly pale.

"Impossible!!!"

His mind screamed in rejection, refusing to accept what she said. He was supposed to be Heaven's chosen one, the pride of fate itself. Every hardship he'd overcome proved he wasn't ordinary.

But now, Song Wanníng was calling him an invader.

Worse, she'd killed many others like him.

That truth shattered everything he believed in.

Li Qingya, standing to the side, froze completely. If she wasn't mistaken, did that mean Gong Ye wasn't even from this world?

And Song Wanníng… was someone who hunted people like him?

No wonder the Heavenly Dao protected her. Everything made sense now.

Li Qingya's heart shook violently, regret flooding in like a tide. If she'd known this earlier, she never would've gotten tangled with Gong Ye. He was someone abandoned by the Heavenly Dao. Staying with him was basically sabotaging her own Luck.

She wasn't even sure if she could survive this anymore!

She almost wanted to scream. She never should've let lust cloud her judgment. Because of that moment of weakness, she'd dragged herself into a death trap.

No, she couldn't stay tied to Gong Ye any longer.

Once the two started fighting, she'd get the hell out of there. After that, she'd disappear completely and never show her face to Song Wanníng again.

"Gong Ye, haven't you noticed? Ever since you met me, your luck's gone downhill every single time."

Song Wanníng's voice was flat, but her words carried an edge. She'd grown to truly despise these invaders. Not just dislike, but hate with every fiber of her being.

Gong Ye's dazed eyes flickered. His body trembled as his pupils turned red. "No! No!!!

I get it now, you're just trying to mess with my Dao heart, aren't you?"

He sounded desperate, as if he'd found a rope to cling to in a storm. He wasn't afraid of losing to her anymore. What terrified him was accepting this reality. To go from being Heaven's favored son to an invader, a reject of the Heavenly Dao—

That single revelation crushed every ounce of pride he had left.

Song Wanníng looked at him calmly. "Is that so? Deep down, you already know the truth, don't you?"

She didn't deny her intention. She'd said all this precisely to shake him apart from the inside. "Why keep lying to yourself?"

Those simple words smashed the last of his faith.

Gong Ye suddenly burst into wild laughter.

"Ha, hahaha—

Ha, ha, ha—

It's hilarious! So damn hilarious!"

His laughter twisted into madness, and his already fragile Dao heart shattered completely. Spiritual energy erupted around him like a storm, his robes and hair whipping about even without wind. His blood-red eyes locked on Song Wanníng, sharp as blades.

"So what if I'm an invader? The ones who died were just idiots. I'm not like them!"

Even now, he couldn't stop insisting he was different. That alone showed just how obsessed he was.

Song Wanníng's eyes turned cold. She raised her hand, and her long sword flashed into existence, the blade humming with killing intent. Power surged around her, so fierce that even the surrounding trees trembled violently.

"Gong Ye, today you die. There's no other outcome."

She pointed her sword straight at him, murderous intent bursting forth like a wave.

Gong Ye sneered. "Then let's see if you really have what it takes. Either you die, or I do. Or maybe we'll both go down together!"

He'd never wanted to kill someone this badly before. Song Wanníng was as good as dead in his eyes.

"Then come!"

She didn't hesitate for even a heartbeat, slashing her sword toward him.

Both of them exploded into motion at once, their attacks clashing violently in midair.

Li Qingya stood off to the side, her heart sinking as the ground beneath her feet cracked from the force.

The first exchange alone shook mountains and scattered the beasts in all directions.

Just witnessing it left her trembling.

And she'd once thought she could kill Song Wanníng through tricks and schemes? What a pathetic joke.

Her eyes darted, and she started quietly backing away. But before she could take two steps, a formation suddenly rose up around her, trapping her inside. Her expression changed instantly. She panicked and tried to break through, pouring all her strength into her attack.

But the formation didn't even budge. It was solid as a mountain.

"Song Wanníng! You liar!" She screamed, eyes blazing with fury as she glared at the two fighting in the distance. "I brought you here like you asked! What more do you want from me?!"

If the formation didn't drop, she was trapped. No matter who won, she'd be the one to die in the end. Panic surged through her chest.

Song Wanníng didn't even glance her way. "I never said I'd let you go."

She'd never promised that. Not once.

A person who could raise Monsters like pets didn't deserve mercy.

Such wishful thinking.

"Song Wanníng!!!"

Li Qingya's voice cracked as her mind completely collapsed. She'd brought Song Wanníng to Gong Ye herself, and now Song Wanníng dared to turn on her?

"If you're gonna screw me over, I'll take you down with me!"

At that moment, she realized her only chance was to side with Gong Ye and kill Song Wanníng together. Maybe then she could use her Monsters to make Gong Ye spare her life. But the second she tried to act, her mind flashed back to that terrifying heavenly punishment.

All her courage vanished, her spiritual energy scattering uncontrollably. Hopelessness crashed over her like a wave.

"Song Wanníng… you…" Tears welled in her eyes.

She couldn't kill Song Wanníng. There was no way out of this.

Despair consuming her, she dropped back to the ground and started pounding on the formation like a madwoman.

This was her only hope now. If she could just break through, she might survive. She couldn't give up. Not yet.

But Song Wanníng had no intention of giving her that chance. A flash of light appeared, and her clone split off from her main body, shooting straight toward Li Qingya.

Li Qingya's back went cold. She spun around instinctively, swinging her sword with all her strength.
