Chapter 415 - 415 - Star Village!!

March 10th, Monday.

Yesterday had been registration day for the Genius Class.

After an entire morning of practical examinations, only four new students had successfully joined:

Hyuga Hanabi

Konohamaru Sarutobi

Moegi Kazamatsuri

Udon Ise

The number wasn't large, but compared to previous years, it was impressive.

The Genius Class had an infamously high threshold. In some years, not a single student made it in. If Kitazawa hadn't occasionally "brought back" promising talents from outside the village, the class would likely have stagnated at around thirty students for years.

Monday was theory day. Normally, Kitazawa wouldn't attend—he preferred training elsewhere.

But with four new additions this semester, he decided to show up in person.

The moment he stepped into the Academy grounds—

Three lines of familiar text appeared before his eyes.

Current Mission: The passionate brotherly combination teaches Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke the Taiji Rasengan.

Mission Reward: Lava Release.

Mission Complete. Reward Issued.

Almost immediately, a violent surge of chakra rippled across the training ground.

Kitazawa looked up.

There it was—

A massive Rasengan, jointly formed by Naruto and Sasuke.

Blue and green chakras spiraled together, chasing one another in a perfect Taiji cycle—like an ouroboros devouring its own tail.

The air trembled.

Kitazawa nodded slightly.

Recently, the two had been fighting daily. Constant clashes had sharpened not just their rivalry but also their synchronization.

No discord, no harmony.

Sometimes fists were the fastest path to teamwork.

Satisfied, Kitazawa turned his attention inward.

He extended his palm.

Though he didn't yet possess Lava Release techniques, he could now manipulate lava release chakra.

A surge of molten-red chakra flared in his hand—dense, heavy, searing.

In the original world, Lava Release had manifested in two primary forms:

One—a magma-like chakra, wielded by Roshi and the Four-Tails.

The other—ash-like Lava Release used by Kurotsuchi and Dodai.

Both were Lava Release, yet their combat applications differed greatly.

From pure destructive potential alone, Roshi's magma-type was clearly superior.

Especially since he could enter a Lava Release Chakra Mode—his entire body cloaked in molten rock, both offensively and defensively.

In the original timeline, Naruto's Rasengan couldn't even damage it. Instead, Naruto burned himself on contact.

Unfortunately, the system had only rewarded Lava Release itself, not any specific techniques.

Kitazawa let out a thoughtful hum.

Roshi, the Four-Tails Jinchūriki of Iwagakure, had left the village after clashing with Onoki. Later, he was defeated by Kisame and Itachi.

If located early…

Perhaps the ANBU could "invite" him for a sparring session.

A proper beating might yield the techniques Kitazawa lacked.

The Taiji Rasengan dispersed.

Students began heading toward the classroom.

Kitazawa snapped out of his thoughts and walked toward Hiruzen.

Among the instructors, only Hiruzen, Iruka, and Kitazawa had arrived—Monday was theory heavy, after all.

"Third Hokage-sama."

Kitazawa greeted politely.

"And you're here today as well?" Hiruzen asked with a knowing smile.

"Just came to take a look."

"I'm here for Konohamaru," Hiruzen replied. "That boy is too naughty. I don't trust him unsupervised."

Kitazawa smiled faintly. "Konohamaru's fundamentals are solid. Given time, he could even break into the top ten."

"Perhaps," Hiruzen said calmly. "After Naruto and the others graduate."

Even speaking of his grandson, Hiruzen showed no favoritism.

Naruto's generation was simply monstrous.

They stopped outside the Genius Class classroom.

Inside—

"This semester, we welcome four new classmates!"

Iruka announced, clapping first.

The class followed suit.

Konohamaru waved enthusiastically.

"Please introduce yourselves."

Konohamaru stepped forward boldly.

"I'm Konohamaru Sarutobi! Naruto-nii is my idol—and I'll become Hokage one day!"

The class reacted mildly.

Between Kitazawa's birthday banquet and winter training sessions, Konohamaru had practically integrated already.

"Find your seat," Iruka said.

"Here!" Naruto immediately stood and waved.

"Naruto-nii!"

Konohamaru ran over happily.

Next—

"My name is Hyuga Hanabi," she said calmly. "I like training with my sister. I dislike celery. Please take care of me."

Ino leaned toward Hinata. "Does your sister use a bow too?"

Kiba and the others perked up immediately.

They had all personally experienced the terror of the Byakugan paired with archery.

"No," Hinata shook her head gently.

"Good…" Kiba exhaled in relief.

Ino crossed her arms thoughtfully.

"Kitazawa-sensei is always fair. I have a feeling... Hanabi will get a bow sooner or later."

At that, several students exchanged complicated looks.

If Hanabi truly inherited both the Byakugan and archery—

The rankings might shuffle again.

And the Genius Class… would only become more terrifying.

Hinata blinked in surprise for a moment—then slowly nodded.

"So… I still won't be able to keep my ranking?" Kiba sighed dramatically.

"Hanabi is still young," Hinata said gently, offering comfort. "She definitely can't beat you right now."

"By the time she can," Tenten added with a playful smile, "you'll probably have graduated already."

"What kind of comfort is that?" Kiba's eye twitched.

"Hello, everyone."

At that moment, Hanabi stepped down from the podium and approached them with composed confidence.

"Well, if it isn't little Hanabi," Ino said, reaching out to pat her head. "You're adorable."

"Thank you, Ino-senpai." Hanabi replied politely before taking the seat beside her sister.

Sakura observed the two quietly.

"You sisters really are different," she murmured.

She couldn't help recalling how introverted Hinata used to be. Though Hinata had grown stronger and more outspoken, she still carried a quiet gentleness.

Hanabi, on the other hand, radiated a lively confidence that filled the room.

After all four new students completed their introductions, the Genius Class officially began its theoretical lesson.

Of course, for Hanabi and the others, much of it was incomprehensible.

Iruka planned to arrange supplementary lessons later to help them catch up.

"They're integrating quite well," Hiruzen said with visible relief.

As for Konohamaru… Hiruzen fully intended to personally supervise him during theory class to ensure he didn't cause chaos.

"With his personality, he'll adapt quickly," Kitazawa replied calmly. "Third Hokage-sama, now that introductions are finished, I'll be taking my leave. See you tomorrow."

Before the words fully settled—

He vanished.

Hiruzen chuckled softly.

"The Flying Thunder God truly is convenient."

Despite being hailed as the Professor of Ninjutsu—rumored to have mastered every technique in Konoha—even he had never learned the Flying Thunder God.

At the ANBU base entrance, Kitazawa appeared out of thin air.

He found Antelope almost immediately and instructed her to quietly monitor any leads on Roshi of Iwagakure.

Whether they could locate him was another matter entirely.

Roshi was the Four-Tails Jinchūriki—powerful and elusive. Sending ordinary ANBU after him would be meaningless. Only someone like Itachi might succeed—but Itachi was still busy keeping watch over Orochimaru.

Fortunately, Kitazawa wasn't desperate for Lava Release.

No matter how strong it was, it still couldn't compare to Wood Release or Sage Mode.

His priority remained clear:

Master Sage Mode first.

After finishing his instructions, Kitazawa returned to his office.

The door opened.

"Kitazawa."

Konan approached immediately.

He leaned down and gave her a brief kiss before walking toward his desk.

Konan blinked in surprise, instinctively touching the corner of her lips.

A faint warmth lingered.

Kitazawa began reviewing documents.

The first concerned the war between Hidden Rain and Hidden Sand—still a stalemate.

The second held little of note.

But the final report caused his gaze to sharpen.

It came from Hidden Star Village.

The Third Star Kage had died.

Akahoshi had assumed the position of acting Star Kage.

On the surface, it appeared to be a routine transition of power.

But Kitazawa knew better.

Hidden Star Village, located in the Land of Bears, had been founded around a fallen meteorite—one that emitted mysterious energy capable of enhancing Chakra.

From it, they developed a secret art known as Kujaku Myōhō.

The technique was powerful.

The meteorite, however, was radioactive.

Prolonged exposure led to fatal bodily collapse.

The Third Star Kage had discovered this and attempted to halt its usage.

Akahoshi disagreed.

To him, without the meteorite, the village would never rise to prominence.

So he murdered the Third Star Kage and forced continued usage.

Natsuhi and Hotaru stole the meteorite and fled as rogue ninja.

Eventually, the conflict would draw in Naruto.

Kitazawa stroked his chin thoughtfully.

Meteorites with energy that interacted with chakra…

Such phenomena are often traced back to the Ōtsutsuki Clan.

This was worth investigating.

He decided then Akahoshi would become the target of the Genius Class's midterm mission.

And while traveling…

He could accomplish something else.

He wanted to leave a Flying Thunder God mark in every nation.

With his current chakra reserves, teleporting across the ninja world was not a problem.

As that thought crystallized—

A familiar prompt appeared.

Current Mission:Travel the Ninja World and leave Flying Thunder God marks in various countries.

Mission Reward: Spiraling Flash, Super Round Dance, Howl: Three Styles.

Do you accept?

Kitazawa blinked.

Even this could trigger a mission?

Unexpected—but the reward was excellent.

The technique was unmistakably Minato Namikaze's creation.

A fusion of Flying Thunder God and blinding light—one of the origins of Minato's title, the Yellow Flash.

Kitazawa closed the documents and stood.

He took two steps toward the door, then paused.

Turning back, he met Konan's gaze.

He smiled and beckoned.

She approached without hesitation.

He pulled her close, whispering something by her ear before leaving.

Konan stood there for a moment, eyes slightly unfocused.

Then she composed herself.

Leaving the ANBU Base, Kitazawa headed toward the vast, mist-shrouded depths of Shikkotsu Forest.

There, beneath ancient trees and quiet skies—

He continued training Sage Mode.

The next day—Tuesday.

It was the first practical lesson of the new semester for the genius class.

Kitazawa paid little attention to the newly enrolled students—Hanabi, Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon.

Though a few of them had decent foundations, they were, at the end of the day, beginners who had just stepped onto the path of a ninja.

And beginners needed to master the basics.

The Three Basic jutsu.

Konoha Style Taijutsu.

Those fundamentals would be handled by Iruka.

Once they built a proper foundation, Kitazawa would personally tailor specialized training based on each of their talents.

Today, however, his focus lay elsewhere.

Haku.

Shion.

Haku had already mastered Water Release: Heavenly Cry. It was time to push further—to teach him the fifth water release jutsu Water Release: Water Blade Slash.

Once he succeeded, the related system mission would finally be complete.

As for Shion, her Sealing Technique studies would pause temporarily. It was time she began learning medical ninjutsu.

With that, the Genius Class would now have three medical trainees:

Haruno Sakura.

Shion.

Karin.

Kitazawa planned for them to focus on medical training for a full year. Next year—during their final academic term—he would teach them Super Strength.

If they were to walk dangerous battlefields in the future, they needed the power to protect themselves.

After finishing his instruction for Haku and Shion, Kitazawa headed straight to Shikkotsu Forest.

Training continued quietly.

Days slipped by.

April 15th arrived.

The Genius Class's first monthly exam of the semester.

Since it was purely theoretical, Kitazawa didn't bother going to the Academy. Instead, he made his way to the Hokage Office.

"What are you planning this time?"

Tsunade looked up from her paperwork as he entered.

"How did you know I came to ask something?" Kitazawa stepped closer, eyes drifting briefly to her lips.

"I am the principal of the Academy," she replied coolly, though a faint smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "And besides… don't I know you well enough by now?"

She casually adjusted her collar.

A hint of pale skin flashed.

"As expected of Tsunade-sensei," Kitazawa praised without hesitation.

"Enough flattery. Speak."

She set her documents aside.

"This time, it's Hidden Star Village, Land of Bears."

Tsunade's expression sharpened slightly.

"The village with the meteorite?"

"Yes," Kitazawa nodded. "Their acting Star Kage—Akahoshi—has recently taken control."

"And he's the problem?"

She leaned back in her chair, her posture composed once more.

"Yes."

Kitazawa explained calmly: Akahoshi's ambition, the murder of the Third Star Kage, the radioactive side effects of the meteorite, and the internal division brewing in Hidden Star.

Tsunade listened in silence.

"So that's the truth…" she murmured. "I hadn't realized the meteorite's side effects were that severe."

"What's your plan?" she asked at last.

"Support Natsuhi in becoming the Fourth Star Kage," Kitazawa replied. "Form an alliance between Hidden Star and Konoha. And if possible… bring the meteorite back for research."

Tsunade smiled faintly.

"That does sound like you."

It was true.

Under Kitazawa's influence, Konoha had quietly expanded its network of alliances year after year.

"Are you coming?" he asked.

Tsunade hesitated.

"Travel alone would take six days round trip. With the mission… at least a week. As Hokage, I can't simply disappear."

Kitazawa's lips curved.

"I've mastered Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder."

Tsunade's eyes brightened immediately.

Guiding Thunder meant group teleportation.

A week-long mission could be shortened dramatically.

Combined with the official purpose of forming an alliance, even Shizune and the Hokage advisors would have little room to object.

"…Then I'll go."

Her smile this time was unrestrained.

Field missions were far preferable to paperwork.

And truthfully—

She wouldn't mind a few days away from the Village… with him.

Even though she now lived in the same household as Kitazawa, it was never just the two of them. There was Kurenai. Others. Responsibilities.

Private moments were rare.

"All right," Kitazawa said. "I'll come for you at nine tomorrow morning."

Tsunade studied him for a moment.

"Katsuyu mentioned something recently."

"Oh?"

"You've begun channeling natural energy."

Kitazawa smiled faintly.

"Yes. I intended to tell you after mastering Sage Mode."

"You were planning to surprise me?"

Her expression softened. "It's still a pleasant surprise."

"I'm far from complete mastery," he admitted.

"Even an incomplete Sage Mode can significantly boost your strength."

By incomplete Sage Mode, she was referring to Jiraiya's Sage Mode. To maintain his Sage Mode, he needed the help of the two Toads, Fukasaku and Shima.

"That's true." Kitazawa nodded and said. "See you tonight."

Seeing that the conversation was over, Tsunade's eyes shifted, and a seductive charm appeared. Kitazawa resisted the urge to 'correct' her on the spot and disappeared.
