CLANG CLANG—DING DING DING
Footsteps echoed through the corridor. Doors remained shut, but the facility moved anyway—alive.
CLACK.
A small hatch slid open, breakfast. A tray pushed through.
Rice. Soup. Something small on the side. No words exchanged, just procedure.
Further down the corridor—Another cell.
Kai sat with his back against the wall, staring at the floor. The tray in front of him had barely been touched.
Across his cell, another detainee argued about his meal, guards reprimanding him, after that, Kai finally picked up his food.
CLANG.
A door opened somewhere.
Junko sat upright, exactly as instructed. Hands resting on her knees. Eyes forward.
She didn't move until the guard passed, only then did she glance down at her food.
Coco leaned against the wall, one knee raised, eyes half-lidded. Calm on the outside. But her fingers tapped lightly against the floor.
A rhythm. Thinking.
Jin sat still. Too still.
The tray in front of him was empty.
Miko stared at the wall—unblinking. The morning light didn't reach her cell the same way, or maybe she just didn't notice it.
"Don't they have anything better?" - Shin as he picks up his tray
Time passed.
Slow.
Measured.
The corridor was like a prison.
Footsteps.
Keys.
Distant voices.
The same sounds, repeating.
Over and over.
