Chapter 97 - Izakaya

"Your club is truly... indescribable."

Nibutani poked the chicken in front of her with a bamboo skewer, her eyes dull. After realizing the truth, she was at a loss for words to describe this club.

She was a little glad she hadn't been interested in diving back then, or else she might have joined.

"Ttttt, ha~ In a diving club, seeing each other naked is perfectly normal."

Kamishiro Shiro downed a beer heartily. It had to be said that while the movie those two had chosen was terrible, the izakaya they'd chosen was surprisingly good.

This beer, in particular, made me want to take off my clothes. It was truly magical~

(???)

"Please don't make your club sound like it's some kind of prostitution ring."

After just a brief encounter, Nibutani had thoroughly understood Kamishiro Shiro's character. She decided to keep her distance from him from now on!

Holding hands and fake-kissing on their first outing, next time...

Buzz!

Thinking of this, Nibutani's face flushed again, and she bit into a piece of chicken to mask her embarrassment.

They were in an izakaya, and the Iori duo sat at the table next to them.

Kamishiro Shiro had proven with his actions that even those two idiots couldn't spot him wearing only sunglasses.

It's a bit pathetic just thinking about it...

But it could also be that they only have eyes for each other right now.

Just like he only has eyes for beer right now~

Ton ton ton~

Sure enough, sipping wine, gazing at beautiful women, and listening to the discussion of two idiots nearby—it was truly relaxing.

Kamishiro Shiro could now confirm that the two weren't on the date he'd imagined; they might just be simply interested in watching that movie.

After all, even now, they were still discussing the plot of the movie.

Discussing the protagonist's determination to give their all to a cause.

Though giving one's all to a cause was certainly cool, Kamishiro Shiro had thought so before.

But...

His perspective changed after meeting Kohei. At least... that thing couldn't be perverted.

Looking at Nibutani before him, Kamishiro Shiro wondered what Kohei would be like when he graduated.

But thinking about it, that seemed impossible.

He was the most dedicated otaku Kamishiro Shiro had ever met!

"That look in your eyes is a bit disgusting."

Nibutani complained as she ate a string of lanterns. She had a feeling this guy was up to something.

"How could that be? I just made sure they weren't imagining a date. Come on, eat more."

In a good mood, Kamishiro Shiro placed all the lanterns with Nibutani. This thing... he couldn't quite handle it anyway. He'd better eat some cheap chicken breast.

"Thank you, you're quite nice."

Nibutani accepted the lanterns with a smile. As a true Neon, this thing was considered a delicacy.

"So, what's your relationship?"

Nibutani asked her question as she ate. Wouldn't anyone wish their best when seeing their best friends together? Why did this guy act like something big was going to happen?

"It's complicated. Anyway, as long as nothing happens, it's fine."

Kamishiro Shiro closed his eyes and slumped comfortably in his chair. Based on his two decades of experience, he knew that club members being together was completely unacceptable!

It would destroy the unity of the club members, and even worse, some might even leave!

Specifically, displaying affection in the club would lead to jealous people beating them to death (λ?_??)

Kamishiro Shiro did this once, and nearly got beaten to death. The memory is still fresh in his mind.

But if this really happened in his own club, it wouldn't be so bad. After all, think about Chisa and the others... they probably wouldn't care.

The main issue is Yamamoto and the others. Chisa before, and now there's this little girl next door type zombie.

Hmm, it's fair to say that Kamishiro Shiro is completely concerned about Iori's safety. So, a small increase in benefits would be considered hard work fee~

Thinking of this, Kamishiro Shiro suddenly felt a little envious of Iori for having such a good friend.

He really was the perfect friend.

In a good mood, he couldn't help but pick up his beer, ready to savor it again.

"I like you."

A whispery voice reached Kamishiro Shiro's ears. Those four short words froze him in place, his wine dribbling down his chin unnoticed.

The reason Kamishiro Shiro lost his composure was that he recognized the voice!

Aina!

Aina Yoshiwara!

After all, they were friends from the same club, having been together for a few months. Kamishiro Shiro wouldn't be mistaken!

He gaped in disbelief, staring at Aina's table. Were the relationships in the club really going to change?

"That slap in the face came so quickly!"

Nibutani, unconcerned, rested his face on one hand, watching the scene with a smile. The girl was surprisingly bold.

Kamishiro Shiro didn't argue with Mori Natsu anymore. The most important thing now was Iori's attitude!

His gaze from behind his sunglasses was fixed on Iori. He knew that when Aina said those words, whether she refused or accepted, their relationship would change!

In fact, Kamishiro Shiro had already vaguely sensed a difference in Aina's gaze towards Iori.

But at the time, he didn't pay it any mind. After all, Aina wasn't like Sakurako or Kiyoko, and it was practically impossible for a shy girl to say something like that on her own initiative.

And now!

She said it?!

Whatever the reason, she'd said it!

Gu...

Kamishiro Shiro swallowed, mentally prepared.

His gaze shifted towards Iori.

Aina's response was a pair of bewildered, small eyes.

"Bucket?"

Because the pronunciation of "suki" sounded so much like "bucket," Iori instinctively misheard it and looked at Aina with a bewildered expression.

Aina, realizing what she had just done, blushed. "Ah, no... that... I meant... this is a bucket!"

Shy Aina frantically searched the table for a topic to baffle.

Finally, she grabbed a cocktail shaker and managed to fool him.

"Haha, what are you talking about?"

The love-dead Iori didn't notice anything was wrong and thought Aina was joking. Of course, it was also possible that he subconsciously didn't think that was the case.

Looking at Iori, who had been successfully fooled, Aina breathed a sigh of relief. That was a close call.

Because of the happy atmosphere, she had just spoken her heart out.

While she should had spoken out, she was still... so shy!!!

Aina felt a little regretful the moment she realized she had spoken out. She wasn't prepared for either acceptance or rejection.

But luckily, her voice was too quiet; the idiot didn't hear her at all, and she had successfully fooled him!

Thinking about it, Aina felt quite clever, but...why did she always feel a sense of loss...?

Maybe it was because she didn't have the courage to speak out.

The disappointment faded just as quickly as it came. After taking a sip of wine, Aina's gaze brightened again as she looked at Iori, a smile playing on her lips.

Though her time was running out, she still... maybe next time!

By the way, why was this restaurant suddenly so quiet?

Aina, having calmed down, glanced around in a daze, noticing that everyone around her seemed frozen in place.

Forget it. Not important!

Enjoy the moment!

Unable to make sense of her thoughts, Aina once again immersed herself in the atmosphere of love. Although nothing had been said aloud and they weren't officially a couple, they were doing things that people in love do.

This is totally a date!
