Chapter 120 - Chapter 119: Frieza the Tool Man, Ghost Slayer World Mission!

Frieza had returned from the dead, bent on revenge.

But in the end, it was Vegeta who killed him.

After so many years, Vegeta's long-cherished wish had finally been fulfilled.

Once was enough.

He didn't need to kill Frieza again and again. That would be tedious—and honestly, a waste of time.

If anything, with that kind of free time, wouldn't it be better to go grab a few more missions?

So, Vegeta had no interest in bringing Frieza back to life a second time.

"Unfortunately, I'm still too weak," Krillin said, a little frustrated. "Otherwise, maybe I would've been the one to take him down this time."

He hesitated, then added, "It might sound inappropriate... but I kind of hope Frieza comes back again. I'll train harder, snatch more missions, and become stronger. Next time... I want to be the one to defeat him, to get my revenge."

Krillin had truly believed that this time, with his current strength, he could finally overcome Frieza. After all, the grudge ran deep—Krillin had once been killed by Frieza.

But Frieza's growth in power had been terrifying. Even after transforming into Super Blue, Krillin realized he still wasn't strong enough. The gap between them remained wide.

Vegeta had managed to fulfill his long-standing dream by killing Frieza.

But Krillin hadn't.

So, even if it felt a little wrong to say it aloud, a part of him wanted Frieza to be revived—just so he could finish what had started long ago.

Poor Frieza. In Krillin's mind—and likely in the minds of others—his sole purpose in being resurrected was to be taken down again and again, so they could finally settle old scores.

"Well, Frieza's dead again for now," said Goku. "At least he won't be causing any more trouble for a while. We can finally focus on the missions in peace."

"Yeah, I wonder when the next mission will show up," Krillin replied.

When they weren't out on missions, Krillin and the others stayed at Beerus' place, cultivating their strength. Without missions to break up the time, those days dragged on slowly.

Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed through the void.

Ding! A new thug mission has been detected. Do you accept?

"Accept!"

A few days later, Jack received a new thug mission.

He didn't hesitate. Any time a new mission appeared, it had to be grabbed immediately.

After accepting it, Jack shared the mission interface with the whole group.

Jack: "@All members, a new thug mission has appeared. Everyone, stay alert!"

Champa: "Awesome! A new mission! This time, we in Universe 6 are definitely going to claim it!"

Beerus: "Champa, you said the exact same thing last time. And yet, it was our Universe 7 that secured it again."

Champa: "This time, I've got a hunch. A strong one. We're definitely getting it!"

Beerus: "Oh yeah? Well, if we're going off hunches, then I've got one too—Universe 7 is going to keep winning."

Whis: "@Grand Priest, Lord Grand Priest, may I ask if you and Lord Zeno plan to compete for any missions this time?"

Vados: "Yes, if you two joined in, we probably wouldn't even stand a chance at grabbing missions anymore."

Grand Priest: "@Whis @Vados, both Lord Zeno and I find it far more entertaining to watch you all scramble for missions than to join ourselves."

Zeno: "Yes! Watching you all complete your missions is so much fun!"

Whis: "That's true."

Champa: "Ah, I see! So that's why you two never fight over missions. It's because you enjoy watching from the sidelines!"

Champa: "Still, if you ever decided to compete, then it wouldn't just be Universe 7 grabbing all the missions."

Beerus: "Champa, that's surprisingly insightful for once. Honestly, we owe a lot to Jack, Lord Zeno, and Cabba. Without them, Universe 7 wouldn't be on this kind of winning streak."

Beerus: "But don't let that make you think Universe 6 will get this next mission. Not happening."

Champa: "Whoa, whoa, don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying we will get the mission—just expressing how grateful I am that Lord Zeno and the Grand Priest are giving us this opportunity."

Jack: "Alright, cut the flattery. You know the two of them have been holed up in the Palace of All Kings for ages. They get more fun out of watching the chaos than joining in."

Jack: "Whether they take missions or not doesn't matter. What matters is that you guys understand this new mission and go for it."

Beerus: "Got it, Lord Jack."

Champa: "Understood, Lord Jack."

Suddenly, the screen displayed the scene of the next mission.

A graceful figure darted between the trees in a dense forest.

She wasn't fast, but her movements were elegant—like a butterfly fluttering through the twilight.

In the golden rays of the setting sun, the figure was revealed to be a woman.

She had long black hair, piercing violet eyes, and wore a pair of butterfly-shaped hairpins edged with soft pink. Over her uniform, she wore a feathered haori with a delicate butterfly pattern.

As soon as Jack saw her, he recognized the style.

She was from the world of Demon Slayer.

Butterfly Kanae.

Jack didn't know much about the Demon Slayer world. Back when the anime exploded in popularity, he'd watched a few episodes out of curiosity.

But it wasn't really his thing, so he dropped it quickly.

Still, just because he hadn't watched the whole thing didn't mean he was unfamiliar with certain characters—especially the tragic ones.

Characters with tragic endings always left more of an impression than those with happy ones.

It was the same with the One Piece world. Jack didn't follow the series closely, but even he knew about the infamous Marineford War—because of how tragic it was for the Whitebeard Pirates.

Looking back at Kanae, she appeared to be on a routine ghost-slaying mission.

If Jack remembered correctly, she had died at the hands of Upper Moon Two, Doma, during such a mission.

That must be this moment.

After all, only situations involving real danger to a character's life would trigger a thug mission.

And it wasn't just Kanae. Her younger sister, Shinobu, also met her end due to Doma. The Butterfly sisters' fates were deeply intertwined with tragedy.

It was heartbreaking.

Time passed.

Butterfly Kanae eventually arrived at a small village tucked behind the forested mountains.

To her, this was just another typical mission to hunt down demons. She had done this countless times before.

But what she didn't realize—what none of them did—was that this mission would be different.

This time, she wouldn't make it back.
