The two of us were sitting at our usual favorite spot. On the rooftop of the Blood Tower, we were watching the night sky stretch endlessly above our heads.
The stars were all scattered like spilled silver beans. It all looked way too majestic to me, even though we have seen it countless times together.
'I wish I could see this forever….' I wished for myself.
It was the last peaceful night I ever had together with my best friend.
"Why are you doing this?" Veronica had asked.
"Mmm?" I did not look at her, and answered in a lower tone, "because this is the only way."
I noticed that her hand had tightened around the edges of the cold stone.
She must be holding it in….
"But! This… will get you killed." She said it again, "No! I will not allow it. Let me help—"
