Chapter 163 - Chapter 163

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 163

The two men shook hands.

"Karlos, thank you," Roman muttered, his tone sincere and appreciative.

"I should be the one thanking you," Karlos replied, feeling overwhelmed. For him, earning 60 million pesos plus a shrimp farm was more than worth it.

He also had another ginseng that he could use later. Losing the biggest ginseng in exchange for a huge amount of money and property was worth it.

Old Man Fu glanced at the two and noticed that they had a strong resemblance. His eyesight was still sharp despite his age.

"Um, my wife prepared a simple meal for you," Karlos said, a bit embarrassed by the humble offering. Roman was actually eager to start looking for other ingredients, but he showed respect to Old Man Fu.

"You guys cooked shrimp fried rice?" Old Man Fu caught the scent of shrimp.

"Yes, Master," Karlos confirmed.

"Let's eat then. I want to eat something simple today."

Maya immediately prepared the table and set up the dishes.

"Haha, your kids are adorable." Old Man Fu stared at the twins. Arabella was getting restless as the food was being prepared on the table. She wanted to eat.

However, the table could only accommodate five adults at most.

"Kids, I'll feed you in the living room," Karlos said, trying to keep things orderly.

"No, you should talk to Roman and Master Fu. Let me handle this. Look at Brandon, he's been sitting stiff like a robot. Sit with them and talk to them," Maya said to Karlos, leaving him no choice.

She prepared dishes for the bodyguards, but they refused, maintaining their professionalism. They were still on duty. She decided to offer them coffee instead, which they accepted.

At the table, Karlos sat between Brandon and Roman. The four men ate, with Old Man Fu being the most enthusiastic among them.

He had lived most of his life in the mountains, so eating fresh seafood was rare for him. He quickly scooped a serving of shrimp fried rice without holding back. Aside from shrimp fried rice, Maya also prepared oxtail soup and baked a whole cheesecake.

Karlos and the others followed and began eating as well.

"You remember Manager Alfred, right?" Roman said to Karlos, bringing up business matters.

"You mean the manager of the Beach Island Resort?"

"That's right. He will contact you and transfer the money and the deed of the shrimp farm to you. He will also take you there and explain everything about the place."

Roman had only visited the shrimp farm once, as he didn't take it too seriously. He had other priorities. The shrimp farm had simply been a side investment.

"The farm already has workers. I'll shoulder their salaries for half a year to ease your burden."

"Thank you, Roman."

"Nah, I should be the one thanking you." He smiled lightly.

Brandon kept his mouth shut the entire time, feeling out of place. Unlike Karlos, who had grown used to speaking with wealthy people, Brandon was just a simple fisherman. He continued eating, but due to his nervousness, he couldn't fully enjoy the food.

After a satisfying meal, Old Man Fu was pleased, and the group prepared to leave. One of the bodyguards carefully carried the box with both hands.

"Uncwe! Bye-bye!"

The twins waved energetically at Roman, the only person they recognized, their tiny hands moving excitedly. They liked this uncle because he had given them many presents on their birthday.

Roman glanced at the twins and waved back. They were adorable. He didn't mind visiting again in the future.

Once they were gone, the adults in the house sighed in relief as the tension finally faded.

"1 million dollars... or should I say 60 million pesos," Brandon muttered weakly, staring blankly as he struggled to process the amount.

"Babe, is it really true? The ginseng you found is a thousand years old?" Maya still couldn't believe it.

On top of that, they had sold it for 60 million pesos. It was far beyond anything they had ever imagined.

"I think so. Master Fu is an expert, and he knows its value."

"... Do you think we sold it for the right amount?" Maya asked hesitantly. Perhaps the ginseng could have been worth more if sold to someone else.

"What do you think?" Karlos chuckled.

"... It's worth it." Maya smiled slightly.

Roman was a good man and had helped them a lot. The money and property he offered were more than enough, generous, even.

Furthermore, based on what Old Man Fu had said, the ginseng was only one of several ingredients. If Karlos had decided to keep it, they wouldn't have been able to maximize its value since finding the other ingredients would have been difficult.

"Karlos, I'm going to head out now," Brandon said, feeling like he had stayed too long.

"Alright. We don't have work tomorrow. Is that okay with you?" They had already taken the day off today.

"Of course," Brandon grinned. Five percent of 60 million pesos was already coming his way, so taking two days off didn't bother him at all.

"Good. You'll come with me to check the shrimp farm," Karlos added casually.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Brandon blinked in confusion.

"Isn't it obvious? You'll also get 5% of the shrimp farm," Karlos said as if it were only natural.

"... Okay." Brandon smiled gratefully as he left. He realized that life had been getting better ever since he started working with Karlos. Honestly, he wouldn't even mind calling him "Boss" if needed.

When Karlos and Maya returned inside, Arabella immediately asked for cheesecake. She was eager to try the dessert.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. The cheesecake is gone," Maya apologized. She had only baked one. The men at the table had enjoyed it, especially Old Man Fu, who had quite a sweet tooth despite his age.

"Waahhh! Waahhh! Mama bad!" Arabella cried, throwing a small tantrum. She couldn't believe she didn't get a chance to taste the cheesecake!

[I want to say thank you guys for all of your support.]
