"If you want we can leave your treasure behind."
"NOOO!! I mean, I would like to keep it…"
Ars looked at her and sighed… This was gonna take a while if they kept going like this…
Ars took 1000000 berries from his wallet and waved it in front of Nami then threw it in the air by his side.
Nami, being a little greedy goblin, didn't miss a beat and jumped to grab it. And while she was feeling happy about getting extra money Ars grabbed her by her waist. And she instantly realized what just happened and tried to negotiate.
"Wait, I'm sorry… I will give you back 10000 and keep the rest as a delivery bonus!"
Even Olivia and Bell-mere, who was linked to them, flinched. Olivia looked at her shocked.
"How greedy are you? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Giving 90000 and keeping the 10000?"
Ars wasn't exactly surprised, he knew what type of person Nami was, or had become. She was the type that would happily show her body for money, like she would do in Alabasta in the future… Was she someone who sold herself? No. But she was indeed the type that would probably go on four legs on the ground if you threw enough money down, without thinking of the consequences…
"Just grab her treasure and bring it along… If we try to convince her to come willingly with her treasure we are gonna be here a while."
Olivia nodded and went to get the treasure. Nami showed a horrified face then looked at them with puppy eyes.
"Don't take my money from me…"
Olivia soon came back with a few bags full of money and said to Ars.
"Ready to go?"
He nodded and transformed.
"Yes, let's go, before this greedy kitten starts biting and scratching…"
Olivia dragged Nami on to Ars back before they took off.
While on the air Olvia looked very seriously at Nami then pinched her cheeks.
"Litle girl, what is wrong with you? If we were bad people you would be dead! And how can you be so greedy?"
Nami looked sad but just showing a pleading expression, while looking between her bags and Olivia.
"But…"
"No buts, you are lucky we really only want to help you… Can you imagine if we were slavers? Do you understand how worried your parents are? How worried I am to see you wounded?"
Nami, for the first time, dropped her eyes to the ground with a sad but comforted expression. She was feeling sad from memories, but was feeling happy that for the first time in forever someone else was treating her like her mother did. She was feeling that familiar warmth she felt when she was with her mother and her sister when the 3 of them were still together.
"My mother is dead and I never knew my father… And sorry, I should have been more careful."
Olivia smiled sweetly at her and pulled her into her chest.
"It's alright, i'm 1000% sure your mother would want you to put your wellbeing above things like money and if you want to cry you can cry on my shoulder. One more thing, have this!"
Olivia gave her a paper with a den den mushi number.
"If you ever need help, we can help you!"
Nami grabbed the paper and quickly stored it, then Olivia pulled her into her chest again.
"You can stay here and enjoy the ride… Like I said, you can cry too if you want… One more thing, we know about your mother and can be considered good friends of hers. So, don't hesitate to call us. And her description of you is pretty spot on, though you are a bit more greedy than she said."
Nami looked at Olivia, with tears in her eyes.
"You knew my mother!?"
Olivia nodded and pulled the now almost weeping Nami in for another hug. And Nami finally cracked and started weeping.
"You might not know… But Bell-Mere is dead and our island is controlled by her killers…"
Olivia looked at Ars and he looked back at her. His eyes said everything, don't do it… She wanted to help.
"Maybe we could help her…"
"Olivia! I want to help but we can't, not yet…"
He then told her telepathically.
'In a few years if things don't go according to what I think they will, we will help.'
Nami nodded, she misunderstood but was going to inform them that they couldn't help or they would die, but then Olivia dropped a bomb.
"I really dislike the fact you're trying to make a vision of a future we don't know its reality and guiding yourself by it."
Ars looked sadly at her.
"But if it's true… We can't rob the world of the good ending…"
"Hugh… Fine… But you promise that if in a few years, if things don't go according to your vision and plans, we will move ourselves, pretty sure that even if we aren't strong enough now in a few years we will be…"
Nami was a bit confused… At first she thought they weren't able to help because of Arlong's strength, but now it seemed that wasn't the case…
"Does Arlong have such a future?"
Olivia broke off laughing and Ars had to make an effort to not laugh or both of the ladies on his back would fall. Ars looked at her amusedly.
"Hell no! And don't worry too much about it and do your thing, just know that in a few years if things don't go according to the plan we will be bringing you and all of your village to live with us. And I will even make you and Nojiko princesses!"
Nami was shocked but not for the reasons they thought.
"You will make us princesses!? That means you have a powerful position right?"
Olivia nodded and cleared her doubts.
"He is the king of our kingdom and as you probably realize, I'm one of the queens."
Nami showed a very happy smile.
"In that case can you give me some money!? And you will 100% give my treasure back right?"
Ars and Olivia were shocked but then they laughed again. Olivia looked at her, kissed her forehead and nodded.
"What did we just say about being greedy? And no we won't give you money at least for now, but we will indeed give all of your treasure back."
Nami was a bit disappointed, but decided to enjoy the trip in Olivia Arms.
It didn't take too long for them to arrive at an island with people. Shortly after landing they managed to locate the doctor by asking around.
When they arrived the doctor was very polite.
"What do these guests require from me?"
Ars pointed at Nami and quickly explained the reason for their visit.
"This girl has quite a few wounds and bruises, check them out and do what you can so they don't leave scars."
He nodded and got to work. Around half an hour later he was done.
"Her wounds looked bad but even if you didn't come probably wouldn't leave scars. And would that be all?"
Ars nodded and the doctor smiled before informing them of the price.
"In that case the treatment will cost you 100000 berries."
Ars frowned and he wasn't the only one, both Nami and Olivia looked at the doctor like he was insane.
Ars just smiled back.
"Isnt that a bit overpriced for someone, who just told me that the wounds weren't that serious?"
The doctor smiled and explained.
"Yes, they weren't that serious but I did have to heal them one by one and do a very good job at it."
Ars frowned even more but then he relaxed and smiled.
When they left Nami looked at him and looked a bit angry.
"He ripped you off."
Ars just smiled a cold smile.
"We will see after talking with some of the residents of the island…"
They went to the best place to gather information on someone on the island, a tavern.
When he entered he looked around and spotted a table with several people talking, he approached and asked them with a calm smile that still didn't leave his face.
"Are you villagers living on this island?"
They nodded so Ars questioned once more.
"Would you mind answering a quick question about the doctor in the village?"
They smiled and nodded once more.
Then Ars looked at the bar counter and requested.
"Would you bring another round of these gentlemen's preferred drinks?"
If they were smiling before, now they were straight up so happy that Ars could swear they were radiating happiness everywhere. One of them quickly commented.
"Today is gonna be a good day… I get to say what I think about that asshole and I get a free drink for it!?"
Everyone started laughing and the same man asked with a knowing face.
"So, what do you want to know?"
Ars smiled and explained.
"Well this orange haired lady got a bit injured and to assure nothing would go wrong we visited him, but at the end he kinda asked a ridiculous price… So my question is… Does he have a reason to be that greedy? Or is he just a special type of idiot?"
All of them looked at him and smiled, even the barman who came with the drinks. And after looking at Ars seriously for a few seconds, all of them at the same time exclaimed.
"Just a special type of idiot!"
Then one of them elaborated further.
"It wasn't always like this, only after his mentor died did he start raising the prices, but he has no other reason other than being greedy."
One of the other men on the table added swiftly.
"Not like he had a choice about raising the prices, before the old doctor died it wasn't him who decided… He would be sent flying out of the clinic by the old doctor if he even tried."
They all laughed and nodded. Ars smiled too… Now he just needed to know one more thing.
"Not related at all, but do you guys happen to know where his house is? And if he lives alone?"
They nodded and pointed at the top of the hill, to a large and fancy house.
"He should live alone indeed, nobody on the island likes him… It's just that sadly we kinda need him in case we get sick or heavily hurt. But we do avoid him like the plague!"
Ars nodded and thanked them again, before he paid the barman who looked a bit strangely at him. Ars smiled and added.
"You can use the extra for a tip and a few more drinks for them and on for you."
The barman just grinned and nodded.
After Ars left the bar, he moved towards the doctor's house. Once there he used his observation haki to confirm there wasn't anyone else there, finally after that he transformed and waited for the ladies to climb on his back.
When they were on his back, well secured. He took flight but accidentally… His tail smashed on the doctors house demolishing half of it and another strange coincidence was that at the same time a gust of wind passed by the house and destroyed the rest of it.
Nami and Olivia broke out laughing. And Nami couldn't help but to comment.
"He deserved it but that was cruel…"
Ars looked shocked at her and said with a very innocent face.
"What are you talking about, it was an accident… And with the extra few thousand berries he charged he should have enough to repair…. A room or so… Besides, he can always sleep in the clinic."
Olivia looked at Nami and asked gently.
"So where do you want to be left with your money!"
Nami blushed a little bit, she understood why she added the, your money, part.
"I will give you some of it…"
Ars' head almost did 180 to look at her and Olivia grabbed her cheeks before saying.
"Princess, we don't want your money, we want you to stay safe and a place for us to drop you off."
She nodded and then said, shyly and almost inaudible.
"Home at cocoyashi village!"
It didn't take long to find the place on the Conomi islands.
When they landed they quickly said their goodbyes and left Nami behind.
Their new destination? Alabasta to buy perfume.
They went over the red line and moved through the skies until they spotted their destination in the distance.
